Thank You Ken, Andrew Fitzgerald was my Father In law. He is sorely missed. I had the privilege of driving the CG36500 when the family was given a ride.

The forward circle up front was called the "glory hole". A seaman would stand in there and point with his arm and flat hand which way the next wave was coming from. When in the surf the coxs'n couldn't see which way to steer or you could point to the man in the water. Then you took a breath and fell to your knees and held on for dear life. You did it for each wave until you were out of the surf. It was fun when you were young and dumb.😉

Read the detailed account of the rescue, but not seen movie. Truly the most amazing stamina and unselfish action I have ever read about.

This bit's the equivalent of a high-school journalism class--dull beyond stuporous, pointless, horribly constructed, and an insult to the memories of not only the CG36500 crew and their rescued passengers but to the strength and exceptional sea-worthiness of all the tiny 36-footers who saved so, so many.

Well maybe so but it's better than nothing.since you're so knowledgeable perhaps you would like to write something down that would educate us who are more interested.

@@garyechols9458 Ah, the tender, girly-girly nerve-endings of sub-literate klowns who got roped into serving a war-mongering fascist nation that booted all 35 of its illegal and immoral armed incursions planet-wide after 1946 to render itself a perfect curse of stupid. ZIP for 35, girls.
