This is also how BLM protests went wild. Police used too much brutality, which only made the situation worse. The protest that was peaceful at first turned some places into a place of anarchy. Police stopped intervening on protestors, so people had to hire guards, and board up their businesses. People who opposed the idea got their property attacked, and people were forced to join and contribute to the protests.

Pretty hilarious comment. Though I wonder if the last domino has any symbolic meaning. I say this since he picks it up and examines it as though unsure on how to deal with the last piece of the puzzle. You could say that the domino is the inspector. One side was red and the other was black. At the end of the movie he had the decision to either stop the plan when the girl was on the train or allow the train of explosives to go through.

This is why he gives her the final choice to send the train filled with explosives to destroy parliament, the culmination of his life's work. It's why the last domino piece is on the train with him when she decides to pull the lever. Evee (EV) is the missing emotional side of V, which he admits to in his last moments with her when he says he had been driven and fuelled by rage his entire life. In my efforts to become a better writer, I've been studying up on literary symbols. Seeing this scene now, it takes on a whole new meaning. The inspector is talking about how things are being set up according to plan, and the plan includes things to go "wrong," or as he puts it, "someone will do something stupid." And we see events unfolding just like how V wanted them to: less of a structured measure and more one catastrophe naturally and organically begets the next. And the dominos represent this idea perfectly. The best symbols are those we don't immediately realize reinforce the scene, usually at a subconscious level when we first see it, thus making it's impact both more subtle and more powerful. Stuff like this really shows how much more thought and purpose goes into every detail and scene than the casual movie viewer realizes.

@galacticaone95374 жыл бұрын
This story is way more than 9 years old, it is taken from an adult comic series. Astoundingly, this maybe one of the best translations from written/drawn to movie screen. All the elements were held true and conveyed from the series to the screen.
@xCorvus7x4 жыл бұрын
@@galacticaone9537 I agree it was a good film but there are notable changes. If the chancellor died in the comic, then it was under very different circumstances than in the film. Instead, V's last fight is with the detective and V doesn't kill him but allow himself to be mortally wounded. Evey's hide out was different in the film, too. In the comic, she was more on her own; her relationship to her host was less friendly and more estranging. Her leave from there was also different. Further, in the film Evey leaves V after her transformation while in the comic she stays and prepares herself both physically and mentally with V as her teacher. This ties neatly into the fact that in the film the concept of V ends with V's death, while in the comic Evey takes up the mask to continue his revolutionary work. The film presents the end as closed: now that the revolution has become public it has succeeded, as if all was achieved now that the people have taken to the street and united under an important symbol of change (the destruction of the parliament building). This feels unfulfilling, given that all the work of restructuring their country and starting to rule themselves lies still ahead of those people.

I beg to disagree, the best scene for me personally is "would you really want to know?" because it forces the viewer to confront their own inherent weaknesses as a human being, turning a blind eye to injustice, making excuses for abhorrent behaviour, the desire to protect ones own self and/or family at the expense of others. "would you really want to know?" because would you actually have the strength to fight against it instead of cowering in the protection of your sofa with your family while the abuses play out disconnectedly on a TV screen that allow you to mentally absolve yourself of any culpability or responsibility...... "would you really want to know?"
@JohnDoe-wt9ek2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Myself and my family is quite more important than some individual on the street screeching about his view point of "injustice". Especially when his screeching leads to violence against other innocent people who had nothing to do with the injustice and are trying to get along in the same community as everyone else... Its even more important when those same people then JUSTIFY their violence as righteous, despite the fact that none of it was righteous and innocent people, and their property, were harmed. If you're that pathetic to where your actions hurt others, and you no longer care for their hurt, even more so desire to see them hurt because of injustice caused by government, you're doing exactly what the government wants, and you're being useful pawns to encourage more laws, more dictatorship, and more injustice. And then call people who go after said government, simply because of a difference of opinion, seditionists when they know the government is to blame for the injustice, the hurt, the pain, the inequity and inequality, the poverty, the lack of solutions and the development of problems, the endless wars and suffering. Make truth relative, and at this point, your truth is as irrelevant to me, as my truth is to you. So why should I care when your opinion sees me the problem for not including myself, when that same problem also says that because of who I am, what I believe, and what I'm born as, inherently makes me the problem to society? I'll stay home, go to work, and pay my government mandated theft of personal income, increase my personal arsenal, buy up ammo, food and water, and await the coming collapse. Because you fools surrendered our Constitutional Republic, and Dangerous Freedom, for the sake of soft, benevolent tyranny. And thus, none of you deserve either freedom, or safety.

"Some individual on the street screeching about his view point...." -- sounds like freedom of speech to me. And whose "screeching" has led to "violence against innocent people?" To whom are you referring? I can think of someone whose screeching has led to violence, but something tells me you probably look up to said individual so I won't get into that. I hope you never have to "screech" in the street for justice for yourself or your family. If you do, hopefully your audience will be more merciful than you are.
