Terrible camera, gang. So sorry. Just fwd 3:20 to 4:57. Not sure how I missed removing this useless footage before I uploaded.

Heat the side you're cutting with a heat gun or hair dryer, the glue will let go. Just clean off the excess glue and it will reassemble like new.

The one thing, and the most important one, is where to get the replacement part???

since you are going to use a brand new replacement fob housing, you dont need to spare the FOB - the only thing is to spare the glass transponder. Once you know which side that is on (the keyblade side) you just open the other side with a screwdriver and appropriate force, the fob will burst open in halves and the transpodner nicely exposed so you can take it out, including the keyblade. No sawing needed!

Not always... I did mine just now - and the glass capsule was glued in from the factory (original 2004 key). So I had to do a bunch of very delicate scrape and cut work to get it out.

dermal drill with a skinny cutting disk works the best

andy bauer hmmm I’m not sure about that. You might end up cutting too deep and too fast.

That's how I got into mine - as OP mentions though, be very careful not to cut too deep. Also, I noticed how the glass reinforced plastic on the fob tends to melt and harden on the disk as it's cutting - so be aware that you might end up cutting a little and then not at all until you remove it (or break the discs like I did)

So... I crushed mine too get the key out. Fob didn't work anyway. Now car won't start. Please help.. same fob

What exactly did you crush? Hopefully not the little transponder...

Assuming transponder is good just hold it hear the ignition cylinder while you use the key turn turn engine over.

Yeah I feel pretty dumb now, but I learned something not to do in the future. I taped the transponder right next to the ignition, bingo👍 thank you

No programming is possible. Only dealership can do that. You must have a chip that is already recognized by your car. Hope this helps.

Mario Lemoine haha, yeah I only noticed that bit a few months after posting and I’ve since lost the footage. May have to see if I can download and edit. In the meantime I certainly won’t be quoting my day job.
