ToW is incredible, first game down and it feels like Warhammer Fantasy at its absolute best. Can't recommend enough!

Nice comprehenisve overview. I'm still on the fence as my club has deepdived into KoW after End Times and most of us want to keep play that. Not sure if I'm experiencing fomo or real interest at the moment haha! The new and old models coming out do have me genuinly excited, there's plenty of stuff coming that I couldn't afford as a teen but will now be added to my collection. Looking forward to more OW content!

Still waiting for Old World to ship here in the States. Excited to get my hands on the books. Still have my old WHF armies, just need to see what movement trays I’ll need. Not going to rebase anything.

I'm still sceptical, used to play fantasy before that Sigmar abomination was released, glad it happened before I finished updating my DE minis with the new plastics they had released (cold ones being one of them) it saved me some hard earned money.

I still have my original Fantasy Warhammer when it was a single hardcover book. No army lists.

Now I have to inventory the Tomb Kings collection and see if I need any of the make to order models. The likely answer is NO! But here’s hoping.

Great review, looking to get Brets & TK's, have alot of the other armies.

I'm not a pro-player, but I play Dwarfs and as soon as I remember (I started at the end of whfb 5th edition) the new armylist is the best one, can't wait to test it on the battlefield! Rule-wise, ToW looks like the best whfb edition by far.

Exciting times Stuart. Hopefully my books will arrive tomorrow... I will be making use of some old armies to form a WoC army backed up with some Beastmen allies. I will make use of some AoS models, especially using them for Chosen. And wasn't today a nice surprise with the announcement of Orcs and Goblins being released. it bodes well for all nine factions being out fairly briskly. Then I guess we will see whats in store for the Mercenaries. i'm very optimistic for the future of this game. - Ben.

I found this channel when I was looking for videos to paint Warlord epic Napoleonics, then stayed as I'm equally hyped about Old World. The cherry on the cake is that Incom is also my LFGS and I picked up my books from Chip himself Saturday afternoon, small World!

Im using the treeman & kurnoth Hunters from Aos for my Wood Elves, but I still look forward to the rerelease of wood elves 😊

I cannot wait for the kislev models haha. Hopefully they will release them

I for one am stoked that the Old World has finally come out even if I do need to wait until 10th February for that to literally be correct. The older sculpts as I have mentioned in the past certainly don’t offend me. Would it have been great to get brand new sculpts for everything, of course but not at all feasible. This game is huge and with all the factions involved that could never happen. Just look at AOS and you will see they have still been using the models from Fantasy to basically proxy for their own new game and AOS is one of the two core games. Looking through the army pictures I do think they won’t be showing the new sculpts that are actually being done and I believe each faction will get a handful of new ones, whether that is new characters or if they are really lucky a new unit. Looking forward to all your future content in the coming year. You will be a very busy man I’m sure 😀

I think we're coming at the release from a similar place of age, optimism and positivity but you've just got more time and capacity to jump in - I think I'm going to be enjoying the Old World vicariously through your videos! :-) I think I'll pick up the rulebook as and when I see it on a shelf somewhere but there's no rush for me so I'm happy to watch things unfold online for now. It's quite clear that an awful lot of love has gone into this, you can see from the layout, production design etc. even the differences in the logos that you highlight - it's quite clear that it's not a cash-grab - I think the team has done fabulously well to relaunch such a massive game all things considered. Your point about the models shown in the photos compared to the models shown in the army lists is a really interesting one - as in the lack of Night Goblins in the Orc and Goblins photos etc. It really does feel like there's been a bit of dick swinging in the studio along the lines of "You can't show our models in your books" etc. You mentioned that the Wood Elves have the old Treeman rather than the new ones but did you notice that the picture also doesn't have any Dryads despite the fact that they're such a key/Core element of the army? It makes me think that the Wood Elf battalion won't have any either as and when it's released and it'll just be made up of Glade Guard/Glad Riders etc. Much in the way the new Orc battalion doesn't have the night goblins etc. - It's a really confusing move to allow those units in the army lists and game but not allow them in the photos and marketing etc. Funny Old World - HA! Anyway, keep up the great work, looking forward to more :-) Damian

Hopefully I'll get my Bretonnia box tomorrow, it's probably the first time I've looked forward to Monday when it's a weekend. But have bought the core rulebook and Forces of Fantasy digitally, so have read a bit in those two. Probably the only one who is overjoyed that I can now have pigeons on my Empire Steam Tanks. The future plan is to finish painting my 4500 point Empire army and start painting my 2000 point Bretonnia army.

Picked up the three main books from the local GW. All my usual online stores sold out or warning they may not be able to get stuff. Good sized que outside lovely GW, by the time I'd paid for my books, all the stock they had were in peoples hands. Think it's going to go well.😳

Looking forward in getting the books but unfortunately i have to wait for weeks as my local store here in Prague have sold out 😢😢

I’m in the blizzard-bedraggled US; none of us have our Old World stuff yet, so I appreciate the look inside the covers of those books. I played WFB during 6th and had so much fun; the nostalgia is really strong for me right now. To be honest, I quite like Kings of War and would be just as happy playing that, but I am all in for the Old World for now. Back before the End Times started a little birdy told me what was in store for the future of the game, so I snapped up High Elves and Skaven like they were going out of style (because apparently they were!) Since then, I’ve also occasionally picked up some Dwarf units, so I find myself with a small army of those as well. My main 6th ed. faction is Orcs & Goblins and looking at all the things getting rereleased just for that faction??? Oh man, my wallet is in trouble. Doesn’t matter if I play Old World, KoW, 6th ed. or 9th Age, all these units coming back in stock is both a godsend and a threat on my marriage. Lol. Subbed! :-)

I grew up reading Fantasy Books and a few years back I was looking to get into any Warhammer World but simply put I didn't find a single AoS army that I was like "YES, I want to start collecting and painting this army" and being a fantasy fan my brain cannot comprehend the word "Space" and orcs, elves or dwarves behind it so 40k was not for me as well. Anyway I was super excited about Old World because it is a classic fantasy setting that I am quite fond of. I believe there might be more people like me out there - those that don't have old miniatures but want to get into the hobby and when the two starter boxes were released it seemed like this product is not at all geared towards new people so you feel left out. I think it is quite obvious that they will release the armies in big boxes like "start collecting" box or the "combat patrol" box in 40k but as a new fan ( never bought a single GW mini) I am very much looking forward to getting the Orcs and Goblins box but if all there is in the box are old 20+ years old models GW will lose me as a client. It seems counter intuitive - you create such hype for the game, people expect Cities of Sigmar level of models and they get old and ugly models and the only reason behind this seems to milk nostalgia or so that older fans of the game can combine their older and new models together and have more coherent army?!? Maybe, I don't know. I believe the older fans of the game would also not mind new models. If all 9 armies are released with older models I think the discontent will be quite big and the game will flop which makes me very sad. I still have hope that at some point we might see Dark Elves and Chaos Dwarves. Anyway I am very much interested in the opinion of people who have the old models on the decisions of GW regarding Old World. Also I want to be clear that I have nothing against the older fans, I know nostalgia ( I am 38 myself) and I am sorry if this is unclear in my comment.

The pricing is exorbitant. This is clearly geared towards the nostalgia crew, not to attract new players.

I have to be honest. If ToW is just going to be a nostalgia trip / cash grab for old players, is not getting updated models and even looses whole factions to AoS. Eventually Fantasy will die (again). People need to stand up to GW’s BS! I couldn’t care less for AoS lore. I’ve tried. 😢

Top price for old kit which has been released in a very limited way showing GW are really hoping to kill it out of the gate. They clearly are serious about price gouging this and less than serious about any future. This is a cash grab and not any serious intent to put Old world on the market. GW have lost my custom on this.
