Dwyane said himself that he's watched Bron turn and ankle that would have him out 2 weeks and just tighten his shoe up. Out of all his physicals Lebron's strength is the most overlooked. He is built perfectly to take the knocks of the sport. He's huge and got the quick twitches, but his ligaments, tendons and overall frame just keep him ģoing. Not fair in anyway, but it doesn't say anywhere it has to be.

And the fact that they play sports as a full time job while my body gets fucked from a hobby? Insane

Apologies for mixing sports, but watching this reminded me of a couple of the greatest hockey players ever. Gordie Howe was a top 5 scorer in the NHL for 20 consecutive seasons. And when Chris Bosh was mentioned, it reminded me of this mind blowing stat. Between Gordie Howe's first and last NHL games, Bobby Orr was born, made it into the NHL, played his whole career, and was elected into the hall of fame. It's absolutely insane. Gordie Howe's highest season point total in the NHL came when he was 40 years old. And when you mentioned LeBron having all that hype as a 17 year old and exceeding the hype. Wayne Gretzky was dubbed "The Great One" when he was 10 years old. He was making the news in those days and there were headlines about how he was worth paying to see. Great video. I particularly liked the points, rebounds, assists career totals talk.

I’ll be 100% honest. I’m 39, and when Lebron came into the spotlight I was on that Darius Miles time and thought he was going to be all hype. I thought he was nothing more than a high school bully. Over the past 20 years I’ve been proven wrong time and time again and now can honestly call myself a fan. People often let his opinions on certain topics cloud their judgement and they refuse to admit they’re witnessing something truly special. Enjoy it while it lasts because we may never see anything like him again.

Respect. That’s what sports is about. I wasn’t a huge Kobe fan growing up because I thought he was too arrogant but I always respected his game and what he brought to the court. And when he retired I was super sad and was right there watching him play his last games because I knew it was my last chance to see that greatness he brought to the game. And when he died I cried like a damn baby. That’s why I love sports. That love hate relationship you can have with a player/franchise. Nothing like it.

This is what some people need to learn. Just because you don't like someone or even hate them, doesn't make them any less good at what they do. It is crazy because I remember his hype coming in and honestly I didn't think he'd live up to it. Yet he's more than surpassed everyone's draft day expectations of him. Even for 100 more years you can't say NBA without thinking of LeBron.
@badasssnow
@badasssnow 2 жыл бұрын
It's crazy because the hype around him in the draft was about how physically explosive he could be in the NBA. And the common understanding of guys who peak early physically, who's bread and butter is physicality. Is they burn bright, the trade with the devil, so to speak, with that is longevity. Especially the High flying guy's that are always dunking. They always seem to be betrayed by their knees early and lose a step. His longevity with the WAY he plays is insane to me. If you told someone early in his draft, he'd be 19 years in with no obvious decline in stats they'd say impossible watching him play. It defies all current understanding of the affects of the NBA on the body, joints, knees, spine, all current understanding of physical limitations.

Really appreciated this video, amazing and quality content. I think that because the NBA has seen such a talent explosion recently, I've started to appreciate LeBron's greatness less. Since there are so many contributors and highlight makers on different teams, I feel like the attention of the NBA has shifted away from LeBron. It's not like the league ignores he's still there, but there's less chatter about his presence in the game compared to a few years ago. This video really helps reaffirm his status as maybe the GOAT and it's phenomenally made. Side note, but what software do you use to make your data visualizations?

This makes me curious about what a model would look like for players who went straight to the league compared by style/position…Not spending your absolute prime years body-wise in college ball. Establishing yourself early. The likes of KD and Kobe played/will play long as using those early 3/4 seasons not in college will help vs the backend 3/4 seasons where each year cost a lot more in terms of durability points. Duncan and curry both have very specific styles that are favorable to a longevity but even TD waned to your point. We’ll never know, but had Lebron spent time in collegiate ball, I’d wager that would have been an exponential headwind on his durability in the NBA. Another jam packed gem, much love

I mean, there was a big buzz in the late 90’s to early 00’s of teams trying to do just that, and the only problem is that a LOT of those players were just busts. They weren’t ready mentally or physically, couldn’t handle the money, the fame, the stress. They lacked refined skill, a real teammate mentality, and had never seen competition to the level of the NBA, Lebron was an exception, not the rule, and its important to keep that in mind.

He wasn’t giving you 20 and 10 a night anymore, but he was one of the most important pieces of a 67-win Spurs team that - statistically - was one of the best defenses ever. Thank you for this. By now, I've come to admire him so much for his dedication, his consistency, and the sportsmanship he displays every night. He is by far (in my eyes) the best player ever to play the game of basketball. No ifs or buts. As much as I hate the Lakers losing so much this season, it's still a treat to watch him play. The same feeling I had when I wouldn't miss a single game by Jordan. It was always an experience. I know father time will give him his due respect, I know he deserves it.

That progression graph was so insane. Represents Bron’s greatness shined toward his longevity of consistency. When Durant’s career is over, I think he will be at least top 10 counting he at least gets MVP this season and possibly a championship
