I wanted to update everyone on my SADI/LOOP Duodenal Switch weight loss surgery 10 weeks out. I wanted to share the vitamins I am taking and the consistencies I have had with the surgery along with any new findings.

Thank You again for making these videos....I am 4 weeks out from Sleeve surgery. I know this video is over a year old, but its really helpful to see that I am not alone at this point with what I am going through and feeling. I hope that you keep updating on your progress and that everything is going well with you. Thank You Again for your videos

I just had a full DS 5 weeks out. I had a hard time with post op liquid and purée diet. I’ve been craving food. Now that I can eat nothing tastes good and I can’t eat it. I feel depressed because I have nothing to look forward to, like meals with family, cookouts and other events. Don’t know what to do with myself.

Michelle Rosales That can be normal. I think for me, it made me realize just how badly I looked forward to food and how serious my addiction to food was. I hate so say it- but push through it. It does get better. If it doesn’t, talk to your doctor for suggestions or you may want to see a counselor. It’s not just a physical change you’ve gone through but it’s a mind thing you. It’s hard. Definitely not easy but you can do this.

Your face is getting so much slimmer! Way to go! Sounds like you are still planning ahead and being conscious of what you are eating and what your body needs. 💜

Seriously, thank you so much! Honestly, I can't tell much on my body change, but I will be honest, I'm not the best I could be with making some of the healthy choices that I need to be making. I just keep trying!

Gina Marie Trust me, I am definitely not perfect either, but if you are 75% in with your diet, you are doing great! We have to live life too and sometimes that includes an occasional cookie. 😉

HAHA... yeah,... I agree- although this has definitely made me conscious about my efforts, it's nice to not feel threatened by food as much.

Hi Gina I just subscribed. My name is Iesha and you're the first subscriber I've ever done so forgive if I'm asking something someone has asked... in your pre OP video you said you would only take 1 week off, how long did you actually take off? I'm trying to decide which surgery im going to have. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Iesha Sawyer I only did take 1 week off and I was super impressed on how quickly I was able to recover. Every day I felt so much better. I think it’s because I did the pre-op so well. My body adjusted really well.

I did not think ds patients could absorb gel pills ?
@GinaMarieUT6 жыл бұрын
I know we can't absorb gummy pills- but I've never been told anything about gel. I should look into that. I got the Loop DS, I wonder if that makes a difference at all?

I love your videos.... a bit hard to find DS/loop videos about each of these stages, so I am glad I found your videos. Oh and FYI .. I just had my pre-op class for my DS/loop which is in 16 days. I asked about biotin afterwards and it was strongly suggested to wait 9-12 months out, since it may impact weight loss. One of the DS ladies in my support group mentioned she shouts for 120grams of protein a day and has not had hair loss. Most likely depends on the person, but anyone taking biotin may want to ask your doctor about this.

Good to know! You can use shampoo/conditioners that also have Biotin in them as well. There is a variety that you can find too. Exciting about your surgery date!
