I noticed all these women that judge me for playing video games, have no hobbies.

I once lived with a Chinese-American woman who one day demanded I go to the office of her insureance agent to get a quote on my car. I told her I would go the next day and bring my car with me as we were in her car at the moment. She said I must go right at that moment, or the relationship is over. Now, she had previously told me that she routinely used ultimatums to control both of her ex-husbands, and I told her at that time, this tactic does not work on me. So, given the ultimatum to either do as she says or lose the relationship, I told her she gave me no real choice and I will leave. As soon as we arrved back at her house, I packed my things and called my brother to come and pick me up. Her reaction to this was to say "I can't believe you would throw away our relationship on such a small thing." I didn't even try to point out that she was the one who set up the situation to throw our relationship away on a small thing because I knew she was too unconscious and too stupid to see it. I just left and never looked back - a true red-pill moment.

The answer to an ultimatum is “no”. It’s always “no”, it has to be. If she finds out she can threaten you and get her way, you are done. You are toast! So it’s pretty simple, ultimatum equals “no”.

I warn women about ultimatums. Force me to choose between something and you, and I will choose the former each and every time. One learned the hard way: She told me that either I sell my swords or she couldn't be with me any more. She was hardly done making the ultimatum when I chose the swords without even thinking. Told her that, unlike my swords, I don't keep cold hard women. And no, she didn't get a redo. Ultimatums are the ultimate show of disrespect and manipulation and I know I deserve better.

Once had a girl tell me that I had to get rid of my new camaro and get an SUV. I did not like SUVs at the time (still don't). Her reason was so she can take her friends to the mall and go shopping. My vehicle, that she will not pay for gas, insurance or anything to maintain it. I said no, I got the car I wanted because that is what I like. Her response, me or the car. Not even hesitating, I replied, there's the door. Did not even look away from my computer. I have not seen her since.

Ah, yes. The childish attitude of "I'm the most important one here, pamper me".

LMAO this shit is gold because I've been playing destiny for 3 years now. That's the strangers rifle, "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain" is a famous quote by a character called the stranger in destiny.. the "all endings have beginnings" is the description of the strangers rifle. I've been given an ultimatum by my wife before. She said I had to either choose her or staying on Active Duty in the Navy. I told her on the spot "A man's got to have a job. A wife is completely optional." She understood her role in the relationship instantly and my priorities. She quit pushing on me to leave the Navy shortly after. I retired about 10 years later...still married to the same woman. They can be taught, you just have to be firm and stand your ground when the shit is important to you.

Her: "I love you for you!" Also her: "Now change yourself in every way to suit me at your expense."

Great text. Reminds me of an old joke. A guy is sitting at the bar. He looks over and sees an incredible blonde staring at him. She notices him smile at her so she gets up and heads over to sit next to him. She leans in and says: " I will do anything you've ever wanted a woman to do, IF, you can say it in 3 words. True story: There was a snow storm and she wanted me to come over. I told her No way, I got summer tires on my new sports car. What? Bla bla bla bla bla bla. Why? Why? Because I worked my ass off to save for my dream car and it took me years off effort. You I met you 2 weeks ago in a club.

That's why it's important to date women that actually have their own interests and hobbies, and vice versa.

If she ever does this, it's already over. If you stand your ground, she storms off. If you capitulate, she now knows she can control you and will continue to do so. Either way, the way things were has come to an end. Should you receive an ultimatum, the best thing you can do is recognize that the relationship is finished and move on.

I have an example to share... (for context, I'm a biker that rides as a full patch member of 2 Veteran motorcycle associations) I had a girlfriend several years ago ask me, in a serious manner: "What if I said it was me or the motorcycle?"... to which I calmly responded while looking her square in the eyes: "You shouldn't ask questions that you wouldn't like the answers to."... It was a bit humorous to see how quickly she started to back-pedal. She ended up asking to join me on some rides and loved it. The relationship lasted another 7-8 months before it wound up circling the drain and I walked away. Ah well, no skin off my nose, its a matter of choosing your battles and standing your ground when necessary. Keep the vids coming, I enjoy your content.

Ultimatums and shaming don't work and only show a tremendous lack of respect. My husband had a life before meeting me which included playing video games (and cars and motorcycles) and his free time is his to do with what he wants, I can't imagine expecting him to change anything that makes him happy.

Ultimatum: If we're still seeing each other in a years time we MUST get married - that was one of her 'rules'. I just said that's not one of my rules. She made a scene in the restaurant - I dropped her off home and said I didn't think it is working. More hysterics. She also had major honesty issues which bugged me and I always called her out on it. A week later I saw her waiting outside my home. She had taken a 2-hour bus ride to see me ( she was unable to drive because of a medical condition) - carrying her overnight bag. I remarked how surprised I was to see her. She acted all sheepish and embarrassed. I made her a cup of tea (I'm English) and put her back on the bus home. I received a leather Mont Blanc document case in the post - together with a very long letter. I tore up the letter without reading, sent a thank you card for the present and requested she not contact me again. I received another three letters. I disposed of all of them without opening. I still use the document case. NEVER EVER, EVER succumb to ultimatums.

Opened my mind up a bunch! This reminded me of my first gf, back when I was 21. She got pissed at me for going to a party without her. Reason I went: I invited her to go with me, but she didn’t want to because it was raining outside. I went, & she kept texting me throughout saying how awful I was, including the phrase “that’s not what boyfriends do.” So happy that fiasco’s over.

Had that shit for 20 years. Mgtow forever, now I have time, money and freedom. You cant argue with child mentality.

A famous chess grandmaster (which I do not remember his name now) was threatened by his wife that he would have to choose between chess and her. He replied " dear, I am involved with chess since childhood, and it has given me so many good moments, but you I know you only for a few years, so do not put that choice in front of me, because you will not like what I will chose!".

What bothers and brings me down, is not that I have failed in every relationship I've been in, but the time I realized I wasted on these people!

Funny. Relationships are all about power. It's never even ... one side always has more than the other and the dynamic can change over time. My mother started out lower in power and gave my father the ultimatum of "Marry me or I'm leaving". He acquiesced, and once a ring was on her finger they spent the next four decades with her now wearing the pants and my father meekly in tow. It wasn't a pretty sight.

In my younger naive years I was ultimatumed into marriage. Worst decision of my life!!! My advice, if you receive an ultimatum, you have one of two choices: either you run like hell or you tell her to run like hell.

The first ultimatum I received was from a GF that wanted me to come get her a lot earlier for our date than we planned. I was in the process of putting a new transmission in my car so that we could go out later that night. When she called I was in the process of jacking the new transmission into place, about an hour before I would finish up then another to wash up and get the dirt out of my finger nails. “Come get me now or we are through!” “I can’t the cat is up on jacks and I’m halfway done.” “Really! Forget it and forget us!” An hour later I was done, an hour and a half I was chic, shaved and polished ready for a night out. As I was heading out the door she called back, apologizing and asking if we could go out tonight.

I remember long ago when I played Rpg's. I had a girlfriend that didn't understand it, I invited her to play. She fell in love with it. She prejudged it and then completely changed her mind. She got to hangout with me and friends and became addicted to roleplaying games. Lol. We're still friends decades later. My current girlfriend was a little uncomfortable with my firearms and hunting. She is half my age and had no experience with them, so I took her shooting. She totally loves it. Sometimes, just including them if you can helps. If they can't enjoy it, then they don't have to, but you don't have to stop doing what you love. Though some things can cause problems. Responsibilities come first.

My ex gave me ultimatum : becoming a feminist or being alone. We are no longer together, I have a new girlfriend and I now am a proud MRA! She is still alone...

this doesn't just apply to men talking to women, passive aggressive shit gets spewed out by both sexes, but this was a delightful video. before anyone says that it's just women, I've had a few boyfriends who threatened to break up if I didn't go out when they wanted, one I caved to, the other two, I wished them a nice time. it was definitely the right decision, manipulation tactics are the lowest of the low, no matter who they come from.

This guy is a badass. Kinda reminds me of me. I had an ex get so mad back in the day and acted just like this. She'd be like "I thought we were gonna hang out but you're always playing Xbox. I'm like "look, lady. After I work 12 hr days all weekend dealing with assholes and criminals, I don't feel like leaving. I want to play Xbox with my online friends and relax. You can either come watch or leave me alone to play with my friends, but I'm not leaving the house on my days off. I need to relax." She just couldn't understand why I'd rather play games than go out. If more women actually worked a real job they'd want to sit at home and relax too.

He gave her the "Strangers Rifle", it was a message. You receive the gun in the very beginning of the game, it is slow and underpowered, much like the woman he gifted it to I imagine. lol

One of my favourite lines is "the power in a relationship lies with whoever cares less" and I live by this. Now i'm not saying i don't care about the person or that i don't enjoy dating/hanging out etc with that person but at the end of the day I don't need them, i don't need anyone's validation but my own.

I just had another thought - how would she feel if he did the same to her? "You'd rather spend time with your airheaded friends than ME! I guess we're done here!" I have a feeling that would have also ended the relationship, and she would have told everyone he was controlling, clingy, and creepy.

Stage 3: This is the most critical stage! By this point, they have begun to show either aggressive or passive-aggressive behavior. They have already tested you by hurting you somehow, and you didn't escape. The target now becomes those closest to you. They don't like your friends and your family, and will jealously keep you away from them. The truth being that those whom really love you are the ones who might try to rescue you! Most guys have memories of this stage if they've been dating alot.

I'm embarrassed to admit this but I've done this ultimatum bullshit on girls (so a little bit of a role reversal). And it never worked out and always blew up in my face because I lost value in their eyes and looked pathetic/weak, childish and so on. So definitely don't tolerate it and even more important don't perpetrate it.

I haven't played a video game since the Pac Man and Space Invaders era, lol. But if a women says *anything* negative about my hunting, target shooting or firearms ownership in general she gets dumped immediately. Luckily I am in a part of the US where this doesn't happen too often.

In every relationship that I genuinely cared for a woman, her ultimatums were important. I cared too much. However, when I finally realized female nature, I stopped living the fantasy of "the one". I just realized every relationship is going to end. Just have fun and don't take it too serious. Because I stopped giving a shit... well... the majority of the time I broke up with them over their childish and stupid shit. The phone text thumbnail is hilarious. Had a conservation like that once. She told me learning economics from a textbook, on the side, is stupid. I replied, "Is economics or the textbook stupid?" She said the textbook was stupid. I replied, "Let me get this straight, a textbook, full of cellulose polymers is stupid. It has no neural synapses." Didn't respond to any of her replies after that. Three hours later I heard the knock on the door, and I just said, "Fuck".

Come on man! First of all, she asked him if he had plans, which means he had no prior commitment scheduled with her. Therefore he is free to do what he wants with his evening. She asked, and He straight up said honestly "YUP!" He has plans... So therefore he already has things set in mind and priority for the evening. She got upset because she wanted him to drop whatever he was doing/ had planned so she wouldn't be spending the time alone. She went about it all wrong. She could have said, I have nothing planned wanna hang out? and then it would have let the guy know that she will be by herself and maybe would like his company, but again the guy at that moment would have told her he had plans, or if he felt like it he would have said, well lets hang out, but since he had already made plans ahead of time, and his mind was made up in having relaxing bro bonding time he should be free to do so. He was being upfront, and honest. He didn't do anything wrong. If she had no plans like I am guessing, then she can easily say can I join or at least watch him play for a bit, and maybe hang out after wards. Just because it doesn't interest her doesn't mean she has to talk crap about his pass-times. To the women who have a hard time understanding why your man games a lot. That is how he socializes! We are constantly on FB, and other platforms, we go shopping with your friends, we go everywhere with a tag along girlfriend, and that is all fine and dandy, but men don't do that. They don't need a go pee buddy, or anything of that sort. They work and come home and have time with the bros only when there is a bbq or reason for a get together, but since there is nothing going on, and his friends like to congregate via gaming console let him! What do you want him to do? Let him be a man in his element of comfort. Some guys go to the bars and hang out there, that is not necessarily my cup of tea, but each person has their own thing they do of interest. He is vegging out. Relaxing, and keeping himself amused by the jokes the guys say. Have you seen how much fun he actually has hanging out with the bros? That is a hangout place just like going to any other place. He is being a dude, hanging with dudes talking to dudes who accept him for his interests and want him to be part of the team. Would you want your man to say... "Really? you are going out again with your BFFs to gossip again and waste your life doing useless things?" It's the same thing but he knows better than to tell you how it is because he accepts that -that is what women do. And if we are not gossiping we are talking about boring things like highlighters and contouring kits at Sephora on sale and all kinds of girl things. Guys could complain all day long about our behavior and sometimes they do, just like we complain about our men to our friends, they do that over gaming, it is a hang out. We are social creatures. It is NORMAL for men to socialize. Besides.. I will take gaming over going to strip clubs that is for sure.

Easy. You leave. I've had girlfriends who tried giving me ultimatums and in every case the relationship ended on the spot. One of those was a 2 year relationship. We were together from me being 18-20. didn't live together. I don't remember what the ultimatum was but the relationship ended right after she made it.

I have been given ultimatums in a couple of relationships, i left the relationship. If you have to give me an ultimatum and force me into a position where i have to do something or choose between two things, putting a gun to my head, guess what? I won't choose you, because your actions show me you're not worth it and show your behavior.

A girlfriend of mine once gave me an ultimatum between my hobby and friends, or her. Suffice to say, I made her ancient history. Last I heard she was now a single momma. Go figure.

I chose a video game over a girl once, lost a girlfriend... the video game experience was more enjoyable than her time. My new long term girlfriend also plays video games (And she understands). I work hard, had a hard life growing up...I’m gunna do what makes me happy regardless of vagina..😉

Love this, my ex hated me going to see my favorite band ( Dream Theater ) and I went with my oldest daughter and later that was the "straw" that broke the camel's and ended the relationship. I feel so much better now!!!

I talked to my neighbors who are all grown adults and we all enjoy playing video games.

In my last relationship which lasted a bit over a year (the longest one I had) my ex didn't really liked my weed smoking habits. I wasn't a pothead or anything, I used to smoke a blunt once or twice a week, at stressful periods I would reward myself with a J at the end of the day after being done with my shit; a regular well functioning college student. At some point into the relationship the idea of moving in together came up, so after a couple of months she dropped an ultimatum: it's her or the weed. Realizing I can't convince her otherwise (pharmacy student, she thinks she knows everything because her pharma-corporate funded pharma department told her that weed is the devils lettuce) I did what any other rational yet in-love person would do. I lied through my teeth and told her I'm stopping for her. Cross the bridge when we get there, right? This was the first red flag, but I foolishly decided to overlook it. After a couple of months a conversation came up on "how much are we going to earn straight out of college". She was surprised that she, based on one source I half assed checked, will make more than me. She was so shocked that she actually took my phone and started looking at other IT related positions that have a higher averaged salary, eventually asking me "will it be hard for you to transition into that". Second red flag. Needless to say we broke up after I told her I'm not willing to change my life for a girl I've been dating for a bit more than a year. I asked for a break, she felt like I was running away and broke up with me. It's all about power when you boil it down, and I'd be dammed if I let some girl have power over me like that. Despite the pain i say good riddance.

Also beware the shame tactic of "relationships take work.and scarifice" that you get hit with by people who tell you to stick with the relationship after an ultimatum. Her dictating what happens by threatening to end the relationship isn't sacrifice or work it's a hostage situation. There's no essence of her saying she understands but she'd also like or need this from you and in return she wants to give back to you etc. There's no if you do this what's something I can do or stop doing for you. It's just I want it this way or I'm gone. Fuck that

That is SO VERY TRUE that "Ultimatums ARE a declaration of powerlessness" and THANK YOU to my second wife for teaching me that VERY VALUABLE LESSON IN LIFE!!! I was with my second wife for 17 years, 14 of which I was married to her!! And at first I had the logic of either "do unto others as they do unto you" so when she would give me an ultimatum, I would do the same to her!! BUT I often learned that my ultimatums meant nothing!! But hers would always stick as though it was written in stone!! Then one day I had, had enough of her ultimatums and on this day I wanted to go to a car show and SHE DEMANDED that I go shopping with her instead!! So to test her ultimatum and her idle threat, I got up wicked early that morning got showered and dressed, and just as she climbed out of bed I told her "I am going to the car show and I will be back" and left, before she had a chance to argue with me about it!! Now mind you I was used to being up at 6 A.M. and she most weekend days, she wouldn't drag herself out of bed until 10 A.M. or even noon, so by the time she was getting up, I could just grab my car keys and go!!! And really I was doing EXACTLY WHAT SHE WOULD DO TO ME, because she would often just grab the car keys and start to leave BUT THEN STAND THERE FOR AN HOUR arguing with me about how I have to go with her, and I side stepped that part with her!!! When I returned home later that day she was sitting in her car still NOT dressed and still not showered!! And she said to me "I hope you are proud of yourself" and I told her I was!! She had done nothing she promised in her ultimatum which was that she was going to leave and never come back!! And I even pointed out to her that I was going to do EXACTLY WHAT SHE DID, only I was going to do the things I wanted to do without consulting her like she pulled on me ALL THE TIME literally!! In fact one of the hardest things about being with her, was the fact that if she wanted to do something I literally had to drop everything I wanted to do to go do things that she wanted to do and ONLY HER THINGS were some how "important"!!! It was SO BAD in our house and to give an example of this we had FOUR TVS in our house and if she was watching a show in the living room like "Friends" and I wanted to watch a drag race on the TV in our bedroom, she would leave the TV on in the living room, get up and come in and change the channel in the bedroom to her show even if I was in the middle of watching a good race!! And I wish I could be lying about this, but I am NOT MAKING THIS UP, she WOULD change the channel to her show EVEN THOUGH she had the show on, on a different TV elsewhere in the house and even though it wasn't what I wanted to watch, she THOUGHT I was supposed to watch ONLY HER SHOWS!!! And to drive this point home further the cable was in my name, so I wasn't even allowed to watch the shows I wanted to watch!!! In the end I had the cable shut off and she only bitched more because she couldn't watch her shows anymore!! Then she complained to my grandmother that I was being a dick!!! So in the end again she gave me more ultimatums constantly and to what end!! When her and I finally split up, she had the balls to ask me "are we friends?" and my only answer to her was "I don't even know who you are anymore, and NO you are NOT my friend!"

Honestly the fact that they bickered over text, which I regretfully have done as well, just shows neither of them are invested in a future together or give a shit. Someone that truly cares about someone else isn't gonna play mindgames over txt or let things end over txt either. Aside from that being his biggest mistake, yes she was just trying to control the situation. sadly most low drama women are not attractive or very attractive and they are also typically push overs as well... so it's kind of a matter of pick your poison carefully lol

my buddies crazy ex did the same shit to him and it led to their breakup. She said "What if I let you play all the games you want for a month..than you let it go? He said it was the words "I let you" that led to him leaving her. At the time he was putting himself through college and working full-time he didn't drink or chase girls so bars were not his scene so video games were his relatively inexpensive way to relax. She just saw low status so she tried to change him. Its disgusting how weak men allow women to shame them into giving up things they love because it's not "what ADULTS should like." It all boils down to they think men should just work and make money for them. Imagine if men tried to shame women into giving up anything...we would be BOMBARDED with ridiculous commercials during the Super-Bowl about how violence isn't just physical.

I know I'm in a good relationship because my girlfriend of three years literally doesn't display any of the negative traits you talk about in your videos. She never tries to control me and I treat her the same way. Because of this we have a strong mutual respect. I learned in a previous relationship not to let women try and control me and used what I learned from that relationship to decide my next partner. Great vid, Rich.

When a woman issues an ultimatum to me, I call her bluff and walk away. Ultimatums are rarely, if ever, given out of love and usually, if not always, done to manipulate others. A woman who wants to manipulate you doesn't actually love you. She may think that she does actually love you and even believe it, but that does not make it so. Far too many people demand to be accepted for who they are and then demand that you become what they find acceptable. It's completely acceptable for you to refuse to acquiesce to someone else's world view. Both of my friends who were given an ultimatum to manipulate immediate marriage ultimately divorced miserably. I've never seen that work and make people happy.

Just ended a relationship over an ultimatum. Told her from the beginning that I wanted to take things super slow. Eventually, after two years tells me I should know by now if I want to marry her and she will give me until such and such a time to make up my mind. Told her I don't like ultimatums and with that attitude I won't want to marry you. She said she was done. I've been through worse breakups, im 36, so I've have experience with this bullshit. What I do when my husband is playing xbox, play or wii I sit next to him and scratch his back while I watch the game (if it's in story mode) or YT and if He wants to be alone I watch Netflix in other room. Is not that hard

Three years ago my wife quoted "Last year I was thinking of leaving you". We have been married 33 years, at that point I pondered on the fact that she pushed for the marriage in the first place so what was the point. Three months later she wanted to sell the house which we built together and had been living in for ten years. I am into computers and the audio visual thing, having a 7.1 surround sound system installed at the time of building the house. The house is also networked throughout so I would be throwing a lot away as the cost of wiring and installation was in excess of $6000. So I agreed to the sale of the house but included the fact that we would be going our separate ways after the sale. She never mentioned it again. The stupidity of it is that we would be paying the same on rent of another home as we were paying off our mortgage. Stupid female logic? I can't even call it logic.

Thanks, Rich. This is a great video demonstrating the mature way of managing a difficult situation. I appreciate the commentary on being specific, non-derogatory, and concise. In my experience, men can benefit from more concise communication with women. I play Magic the Gathering twice a week, and my lady friend started going down the "its me or the game" pathway, and I drew a clear line in the sand. She has subtly revisited the issue with "you play it twice a week. You can take a week off and spend time with me." I responded with building a Magic deck for her and said, "If you want to spend time with me on those nights, here is a deck you can play. It would be a lot of fun to have you there. We start at 6:00pm"

I've seen this before, it popped up again so I watched it again. After all this time it's still brilliant. Good on him.

I had this "relationship" with a "woman" (she had all the woman parts, except for her brain, which was that of a girl, actually) who, one day during lunch, told me "You're going to have to change, or we can't be together anymore," without going into any detail what it was she wanted me to change. I told her I would get back to her about that. The next day, over lunch, I told her I was fine the way I was and I was choosing the latter option, thanks. Without hesitation, she then blurted out, "Oh, good! Now I can start dating again!" Wow. I said, "Later, tater" and that was that for that relationship. It was a relief to be rid of her. No regrets! Post-note: in a later conversation (we were stationed on the same navy base so I would occasionally run into her from time to time), she actually had the nerve to tell me that I had hurt her when I broke up with her. Riiiiiiiight. Fucking princess.

It kinda drives me crazy when I ask people what they like to do or what hobbies they have and the answer is “I like going out or hanging with friends or traveling” To me these things are not hobbies. Am I wrong in this line of thinking?

Had woman try to play me once, dated her for a short time, let her stay over for a few days. She would spend time chatting online but would never allow me near the PC while she was on it. I was like, fine, first big red flag. While she would be up over my shoulder while I was logged in, always asking who is that, to the people I was chatting with. There are things I dont deal with, the big three being lies, hypocrisy and stupidity. Those three are pretty much immediate deal breakers. Of course eventually she tried the my way or the highway approach by saying if I didnt stop talking to "those people", she was going to leave. I didnt even look in her direction, I just pointed and said "There's the door". She left but eventually came back, since she needed a ride, so my cousin drove her home. Needless to say, I never saw her again after that.

Bu bye. I worked with a divorced man 20 years ago and he told me never give up your hobbies. He sold his 1966 impala because she told him the family was more important than the car. At 56, he was divorced, she was gone and he wished he still had the car.

What a great video. I totally agree with the gamer's reaction. It's immeasurably important for men to maintain our individuality in a relationship and for our girlfriends to respect our space and alone time. We must have a strong enough personality to say NO sometimes without the fear of losing them, otherwise we will always be a muppet.
