*I lost 120 pounds in 2018 on a Carnivore Diet, I maintained that in 2019. In 2020 I struggled with some weight gain and then lost it again in 2021. For the last few years I have been maintaining a healthy weight. In December 2022 I had skin removal surgery (tummy tuck). This channel just documents all of that journey and how our family lives normal lives and eats a meat based diet.

I love how easy carnivore is. I have an almost empty pantry now and so much more room in my fridge and freezer! No more wasting money on produce I have to toss because it’s gone bad. Meals are so much easier to plan and to prepare. Leftovers never go to waste now. Love love love how much money and time I save eating carnivore.

People say carnivore is expensive but in my mind it is not .. I wasted so much on produce and chips , snacks for my kids then I have in meat based meals ! Food cost money but wasting money on food , like strawberries kills me .. rotten after a day produce ! Eggs and beef are cheap and a go too in my home . As well as carnivores pancakes ( eggs & cream cheese blend and fry in butter ) ! I do love budget friendly meals ! If people spend more in food and less on medications then I think it’s a win , win !

Probably depends on where you live. In my country (Austria, Europe) 1kg of ribeye is around 30 Euros and has around 1500 kcal. If you would just eat that it would cost 900 Euros a month. Median income is around 2100 net per month and average rent in lots of places is around 800-1300 a month. Also people get free medication (free as in other people have to pay for it) so that's no incentive :-D. I'm lucky to have good income and don't pay rent so I can afford it but I understand ppl who can't. It's just WAY cheaper to "survive" on rice, beans and bread :-(

@@LauraSpath !😱WARNING😱!, there is a video put out here on KZfaq that warns people about "Natamyicin", which is a prescription drug for the eyes is in all pre-shredded cheeses & some type of starch (potato, etc) or cellulose (wood chips) is added to the cheese for anticaking. Pre-shredded cheese is one carnivore food you want to AVOID😱! Better to buy pre-sliced & block cheeses without those additives😊.

As a thought. I bone out my chicken legs and thighs and save bones in ziploc in freezer. Then I make chicken bone broth in crockpot when I have enough to do so. I season and cook my chicken in oven and by boning out, it cooks more evenly. For larger pieces I'll cut in thirds. I use a greased cookie sheet, rubbing with tallow, lard or coconut oil. A lot of good seasoned fat and gel left over that I scrape to later add to boned chicken broth, but is tasty eating as is.. I recently started taking the skin off the chicken and cooking by itself in oven on different tray with the chicken itself. Cooking the chicken in oven without the skin adding the seasoning sometimes coating with a fat is just as good as with the skin on. But always helps to have a instant read thermometer to make sure all chicken is not over cooked and to dry. Taking out while still juicy, but cooked inside. And those chicken skins are crazy good too.

Consider taking the carnivore plunge! Do a 90 day bacon, butter, beef and egg experiment. Tell yourself it’s only 90 days but stick to it. Chances are you will feel so great you will break those temptations and old habits. Snack on bacon, snack on burgers soon 90 days soon YOU CAN OVERCOME YOUR CARB ADDICTION. I was a bread addict. It worked surprisingly well for me. My goal was to lower fasting insulin, my side effect was 40 pounds disappeared and I don’t crave bread or carbs anymore. After 2 years of maintaining the weight loss and enjoying my healthier body, my experiment to eat a homemade scone taught me I AM WHEAT INTOLERANT, who knew? I thought I was a night owl but the wheat kept me up with nocturnal anxiety! I suffered 3 nights from one scone. My addiction is gone. Best wishes on your journey to optimum health, don’t think about it….just do it.

If you feel tempted to eat an “incorrect” or “cheat” food….I am of the opinion that you did not eat ENOUGH EGGS🥚🥚🥚for breakfast and that you are hungry‼Remember because you are not eating toast +OJ+ jams etc with eggs for breakfast…you do not realize that TWO🥚🥚eggs do not provide enough protein to constitute a full meal‼You must increase your eggs…to about four. Due to the fact ONE EGG🥚provides only 7 grams of protein…therefore, two eggs🥚🥚🟰14 grams…which is not sufficient to be a long lasting satisfying breakfast🥓🍗🍳‼ A meal, one meal should provide about 30 grams of protein‼HAPPY EATING‼🥚‼

Thanks for the tips, Laura. Once we settle back in the United States, I'll be interested to see the carnivore costs for our family in Alaska. 😅

Great video. I am just starting the carnivore diet. When I first heard about it, I way that can be healthy! But, I have tried alot of eating plans and I haven't seen the results I want. I like that you broke down the cost of your meals. I remember years ago when all the news came out about how bad hydrogenated oils are. When I removed everything from the kitchen and pantry that had these oils, it stripped the cupboards bare leaving basically meat, butter, veggies etc. All those "filler" foods that we think we need for between meals are so expensive.

your carnivore meatballs inspired me. from the video you posted before. and Im totally addicted to them lol. i eat them daily now. so this is my favorite version iVe done recently. ive been experimenting. 2 pounds ground beef. 1/2 cup of asiago cheese. 1/2 cup of mexican cheese. 1, 1/3 tsp of salt. 1 pack of 4 ounce pancetta mixed. all ingredients make the meatballs. freeze for a few hours. throw in the air fryer for 18 mins at 400 degrees.

I’ve been getting a giant chuck roll (35lbs) for $4.69lb and cutting it into roasts and steaks. I sous vide the roasts for 30’hours at 131 and the steaks for 3 hours at 131. They come out so tender and medium rare. A quick sear and they are fantastic. I like to slice the roasts with my meat slicer on the thinnest setting then I can grab a quick snack or fry some up with my eggs.

I usually buy whole chicken, and by carving it, I get three meals out of it (we have side dishes with it). So from a ~2,7 kg chicken you'll get around 1× breast (600g) 1x legs, wings etc (everything that's not breast, 6 pieces=2x wings,2x drumsticks,2x upper part of legs), and 1x bones and a bit meat to cook a little broth (if you have the option also take one with feet and intestines for the broth, the feet have a lot of collagen and intestines are very nutritious). :-) Sardines are also quite inexpensive, not as full with heavy metals as other fish like tuna and have the omegas and vitamin E. Just make sure you but the ones in water, not in oil cause you wanna avoid all bad amd low quality oils.

I'm a butcher. Those were Top Round London Broils. A fine steak....but sirloin is no where near 5.99 a pound. I like to cook mine medium and thin slice them.

💚 Thanks Laura, very helpful video. I do not yet have an air fryer, I have so many appliances (and I'm single) 😅, but it sure seems one would be very useful on the keto/carnivore lifestyle. 💚

I feel best on steak. I usually eat two eggs and bacon for breakfast and a 16 to 20 oz steak for lunch/dinner. It costs a little more because I often eat good quality NY strips and ribeyes. If I'm feeling tight I eat chicken or pork. Sometimes chuck roast or ground beef.

Thanks for the chicken drumsticks idea! I didn't even realize that they're cheaper than wings and a whole lot more for the meat.

Thank you for sharing. I find that people use costs as excuses. My partner is semi-carnivore 😉, and the reason our grocery bill is higher is b/c of the “extras” that we purchase. He works out pretty heavily and feels the need to add a small bit of carbs in his diet. He looks fantastic, so if it works for him that’s fine. Tonight we are eating flanken ribs that cost $9.75 (not on sale) and we’ll split that.

Were a family of 6. Before carnivore our Sam’s club total was $400 every 2 weeks. After carnivore we spend about $250 every 2 weeks. We’re all so much healthier and have so much energy.

Laura, since you guys eat beef so often, have you considered buying a whole/half/quarter of a cow from a butcher? You can pick your cuts, preferences, & portions too. Usually saves money & time.
