Honestly I think Alan Ritchson would be perfect for Batman 🔥 never really thought of him for the role but can't unsee it now. Really hope he gets cast.

Apparently the Arkham show was originally going to be connected to The Batman when it was announced in early to mid 2022. But Matt Reeves later pitched it to Gunn in 2023 to be a part of his new DCU. I guess Gunn didn’t know about the original plans for it to be part of The Batman

Hello there Batcave. I just wanted to say thank you so much for this wonderful video dealing with the rumors about casting Batman in the new DC Universe. I have heard about the rumors about Allen R being cast as Batman. However, I have also heard that James Gunn has said that casting will happen after the script is done. As for the news about the Arkham Series, I think that it is actually going to be in the new DC Universe, but James Gunn wants Matt Reeves to be an executive producer of it, so that it feels like it would fit in the Elseworld Universe as well. Anyways thank you once again for this wonderful video, as well as your own thoughts and opinions about the topic. The only thing I want is James Gunn staying out of Matt Reeves Batman Universe. If James Gunn wants an older Batman for his own DC Universe then let him have it don't try to include Matt Reeves stuff into your whole let's make everything continuity films.

Alan Ritchson 💯 for next Batman! Great actor, his show Reacher , totally shows he could easily play the real Batman like in the comics and Arkham Asylum! BTW he has the height and build and jaw for Batman!

Here's the thing, I read an article, might have been a tweet, but Gunn is supposed to be big on continuity, which WB DC projects have been lacking. The DCEU was called confusing and the DCU is supposed to be less so. Straightforward even. So the fact that there is this confusion already is a bit concerning. Some people are going to be against him regardless, but this is one again, brand new people. Marvel had their known people and used them to introduce new ones. Not so with this new DCU. If they want people to become invested in this new universe, things need to start shaping up asap. Casual movie goers are going to see this and say, another Superman? Another Batman? They just had them, and where's Wonder Woman? WB and Gunn need to clear this stuff up.

I think it is about a special vision and new direction that every newcomer wants to bring. He is technically speaking, a newcomer to this universe. Of course, it will probably be great and blah, blah, but yes, some changes are inevitable.

I think this "reboot" is closer to what we currently have in the comics. Think about it, New 52 was what it was (praise Scott Snyder!) and Metal made it that they became aware of all the possibilities, regardless of current continuity. All was acknowledged, apparently... That's kinda how I see the movies going, something like that.

Dude, think about it. Batman has Damien Wayne is in James Gunn Batman which means he’s a much older Batman and can have a fully flushed out rogues gallery. Also, the James Gunn universe has lanterns and Superman so I’m pretty sure you could have a clay face, a mad hatter a poison ivy. You need all of those characters to make a great Arkham series. It’s easily fit muchs better in James Gunn universe, and it makes no sense in the Matt Reeves Else-worlds. YOUR OVER COMPLICATING things. And the Arkham series was never confirmed to be in the Matt Reeves universe. I don’t even think it was reported. At the very most it was speculated, or hoped to be in the Matt Reeves universe.

Aquaman is NOT is DCU (Gunnverse)… It’s NOT that messed up. The DCEU is OVER! And Gunns DCU starts NOW.

I definitely wouldn’t mind Alan Ritchson as batman because he meets the high bar that Ben Affleck set for how Batman actors should look like all he needs pretty much is to dye his hair black or something

Ritchson could definitely do a dark, moody Batman, but could he do Bruce Wayne? Others have done a great Wayne, but not such a good Batman(Val Kilmer).

He definitely would be a great fit but I’d for the actor chosen to play Batman to be around 35 years old when the movie is shooting. With Alan being 41 I just don’t think that’s good for franchise longevity wise.

In terms of how messy DC is I just don’t care I’m just gonna watch movies as movies and judge each movie individually as its own experience without giving a F about how it connects to everything else

And yeah, Alan would be an incredible Bruce/Batman. Maybe Jensen Anckles can play a live action Jason Todd??? Maybe they get freaky Friday and switch bodies, who knows? But I do have high hopes that with James Gunn and that he can bring to life the things we love about the character and not just more Hollywood filler. He knows what he's doing.

Jensen is too old now to be Jason it would only work if the batman he was interacting with was 2 times older but that’s not the case so I don’t think it works

@@__M7MD ok have you seen Kevin we all have our own opinions but Kevin looks and sounds exactly like Bruce my point is the character of Bruce Wayne is a man in his early 40s while nightwing is a man in his late 20s according to facebook that’s all I’m saying Kevin Aaron would be an awesome Batman and joker they both have the look and experience playing those characters

@@tristonperry2378 I’ve seen the short movie dying is easy years ago and I give it 4/10 and I didn’t like Aaron’s preformance as joker Kevin is a good Batman and looks perfect in the batsuit BUT I’m just telling you he won’t be cast because James doesn’t want an old Batman Kevin was more fitting for Snyder’s vision than James Gunn

Idk to me if in the new DC Universe you have a character named Peacemaker and hes also played by John Cena, whats the confusion? Peacemaker isn't a pillar of the universe like Superman or Batman. He's the star of a spin off tv show and his interactions with the Snyder characters have been pretty minimal anyway. Plus we're all pretty versed in multiverse shit by now. There's 3 spider-mans from 3 franchises that all look different. 2 Miles's that look the same but one's prowler. Also 2-4 Dr Stranges that look the same. Are we really going to watch Superman Legacy and saying "no hold on, explain Peacemaker!"
