I know Shane gets a lot of hate. But I think he is severely underrated as a friend. He went to save Rick. It was IMPOSSIBLE to get him out of there safely while still unconscious. So he blocks the door and hopes for the best but assumed the worst (as anyone would have) he then took care of Ricks family and undoubtedly was the reason they are still alive. Yes he started a relationship with Lori but ANY MAN IN THAT POSITION WOULDVE DONE THE SAME. Then of course he crossed the line at the CDC. But STILL he has Rick and Carls best interest. He loves them. He may make mistakes but he is a good friend. At least at this point in the show

What about Rick and Shane not 10 feet away? I hear what you mean but ehhh. It’s like Dale not noticing a herd that was already less than 50 yards away. Just season 1 antics maybe. I can suspend my disbelief though it’s just a show

@@brosnshows True, I never bought that Dale didn't see that herd coming. As for Rick, he's also wearing brown and could blend into the woods. Shane had a dark shirt and khaki pants on so he could be overlooked. The point was made that if you think you're alone out in the woods your normal standards of hunter safety might become a little lax.

There could be a lot of reasons a hunter might not see them. We never see where the hunter is standing so you don’t know if one of the trees or bushes could be between Rick, Shane and the hunter. Depending on wether the hunter is uphill or downhill. Plus if I was hunting I’d be paying way more attention to what is might be coming up behind me than what’s on the other side of the deer.

@@brosnshows This is why hunters need vests when out in the woods. A thick forest like that, no way you'd see Carl. Probably barely seeing the dear in it's entirety.

@@Iiva69 as a hunter you should have at least one piece of bright coloured clothing on whether it be an orange hat or vest but what people forget is that if you’re out in the woods during hunting season as a civilian hiking or whatever it’s also your responsibility to wear the same vest for the exact same reason those vets aren’t just for the protection of hunters. It’s for the protection of anyone who goes out in the woods during hunting season different animals have different seasons so just because one animal might not be in season it doesn’t mean they all are

I don’t buy that at all. Not even a little bit. If Shane told her the truth and said “I didn’t hear a heartbeat, the power went out and the machines keeping him alive lost power too, the whole place was overrun, I can’t say for sure that he’s alive but he was totally unresponsive and it’s extremely unlikely that he’s still alive” there is not a chance in hell that Lori would’ve tried to go save him. No a chance in hell

@@brosnshows I respectfully disagree. First, Rick was NOT on life support. He never was. He would have been intubated and connected to a machine that breathed for him if that were the case. Your assumption of the "truth" that Shane would have told her is skewed to fit your narrative. The power didn't go out until after Shane got to Rick's room. Before that happened, the monitor showed that Rick's vitals were fine. It wasn't life support. It was the high tech equivalent of wearing a blood pressure cuff and a fitbit that tracks your heart rate and blood O2 saturation. Shane may have been uneducated about medical devices, but any idiot could understand that he was still alive before that monitor shut down. If Shane really told Lori the whole truth, that would have been part of it. There's no way she would have bought that it was "highly unlikely" that Rick was still alive in that narrative. If you were in Lori's position and someone gave you even a grain of hope that your wife might still be alive, would you choose to leave without being sure? I could be wrong, but I'm guessing you wouldn't. I know that I wouldn't have left if there were even a remote chance that my husband could still be alive. Why are you so quick to believe that Lori would have?

Yeah we’re going to just have to agree to disagree on this matter! I don’t think she’d risk her life to go back to the hospital and put her sons life at risk for the small chance that a gunshot wounded Rick would wake up and be able to move enough for them to get out safely. But hey either way that’s what’s great about shows like these! We can discuss it and still make up our own head canon! Either way I appreciate you commenting and I can tell you’re very passionate about the show 🩶
