Your delivery and editing are great, this deserves more views. I was just hopping around video essays in my recommendations and just figured this was one of the ones with a million views! Have you played any of FromSoftware's games? It's already been said a thousand times, but it seems like each one is a masterclass in first boss design. Some of them are gimmick bosses, like in DS1 and 2, but later in Bloodborne and DS3 they transition to pure skill checks, and they're always perfectly tonally appropriate. Another of my personal favorites is the hunter chopper in Half Life 2. You spend the whole first few levels running from this untouchable threat in the sky, ducking in and out of cover and fighting weaker enemies as you go, and finally you get equipped with a vehicle of your own to combat it, and an epic battle on the lake ensues. Keep up the great vids!

I quite like it when games have a few options for 'first bosses'. For example, Cuphead has Cagney Carnation, Goopy Le Grande and The Root Pack; Witcher 3 has The Devil by the Well and the Griffin; Hollow Knight has Gruz Mother and False Knight etc. Gives you some control with how you approach the start of the game - even Minecraft has the Wither, Elder Guardian and Enderdragon which all give you rewards that can help you with gearing up for the other bosses. Also helps it feel a bit more open world.

Ending on an unintended pun is the perfect closer. I couldn't be more proud! Haha, off the cuff, I think I'd say the first boss of Donkey Kong Country 2 is a memorable first boss encounter, but I'll let you tell me why when you've experienced it for yourself! Haha

thinking about how in totk its pretty obvious who the first boss is intended to be after fighting them all but ya that first intro to dungeons and boss fights via the wind temple was so grand and cinematic even if it was a bit easy the scale was so large it felt so cool fr. damn tho dahlia is so spooky esp when u see her angry sprites that creeped me out as a kid also the music

If glass joe has his own game: Glass-Joe: The Game The game play is the same as in punch out wii put you only have a weak hook a easy to dodge jab and vi va la france taunt which is terrible , and the goal of the game is to go threw the snes and wii circuits of the wvba tk to become the wolrd wide champion by training with his own version of doc louis when you can level yourself up nake attacks faster hit harder and make vi va france taunt as strong as the dreamland express and champions whould be snes little mac and also wii/new little mac , also after the first circuit one or three pucnhes and your down insta KO , and also making your record 100-0 becuase in teh wvba if glass joe and only him if he beats someone one his loses gets turned into the win , and also you can cudtomize joes speical moves aswell , its not much but hey if yhe creator of the video sees this can you do a video abour narcis prince if you wanna?
