It tells me three things: They are still alive, which is nice. Kith isn’t getting a reissue, they probably can’t afford the license for mvc2 artwork anymore, so to keep the licenses they released this with X-men 97 artwork. I’m going to stay hopeful, especially if this means they retain a working relationship with capcom this way. Also a bummer we didn’t get a 2 player X-men with this in this form factor. I’d be over the moon for that.

My cabinets got them updates last week. They added online leaderboards with app integration. They also put out a notification in the app today listing all the cabs that are getting the update. I don't have MVC2 so this new cabinet will be an instant buy for me. Great video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Updates are for the new App features. Allows you to register them easier by scanning barcodes on back of different units that’s what I can gather from what I read on update notes on the App.

I wonder if they X-Men control panel will fit on this cabinet. Yes, i'm seriously considering picking this up and swapping my X-Men control board onto it! I literally want X-Men deluxe cabinet that badly, plus it would be awesome with X-Men 97 artwork.

That’s pretty cool, the only thing that might be a problem is 97 deck is at a slant X-men site flat. Do you have any other 4 player deck besides blitz you can try?

I could be wrong but it seems to me that it’s hard for arcade1up to do a 4 player control deck with an xl combination without having to raise their prices through the roof. But since you have hope for a Starwars xl I definitely need to keep an eye open for that. Do you think there would ever be a tron xl?

The only reason I think it’s possible is Tron is Disney too, won’t cost much and easy money for both parties.

Walmart has the Dig Dug legacy cabinet for 300. I have this and it's excellent for that price. Wifi connection and lighted volcano buttons with beautiful artwork.

Love the look too, I checked out Wayfair there’s something not right on their end showing all of these older cabs you click and it’s sold out. Saw the 2 player turtles Countercade I couldn’t believe it :)

@@PDX7 I saw the turtles countercade also. Don't own any of these. Just don't have the room to store them. I never see the centipede legacy cabinet under 500. I love centipede and still own the original wave 1 cabinet. I brickseek'd it when I first got interested in these cabinets and a Walmart near me had 2 of these left for 75 dollars. Now I wish I would have bought them both. So far this is only centipede cabinet with a vertical screen and won't let this one go. I would buy the legacy at 350 because I love the look of it.

I think 3 of my cabs got the update last night. I'm not so crazy about that Xmen 97 cab but then again, I have no nostalgia for it. Thanks for another great video and for the guy who said these things are just junk because they are particle board and with no crts ...most of us don't have the expertise to deal with those original arcade cabinets plus they weigh so much so I don't think they are practical for home use in my opinion.

Punisher ain’t X-men. Also they retired Frank castle a couple years ago because Disney is a cake ass company. You’ll be happy to know they retired his character in the dumbest way possible too.

May get this cab for many reasons. With that said maybe they re-release The X-Men beat em up can as a deluxe…BUT, besides having X-Men, Capt. America & the avengers, take that other avengers game out, and add in Punisher & Spider-Man making it a Marvel Beat Em Up Cab

I think we could get another X-men and TMNT. I also think we could get a MvC2 XL, which is what I'm holding out for. I don't want X-men 97 art on my MvC2 if I get one.

The online play for the original MvC2 cabinet will never be fixed because they committed to a severely underpowered PCB that can't handle the default version of Flycast that already supports rollback netcode (e.g. Fightcade 2 right now let's you play MvC2 online with rollback netcode FOR FREE). Arcade1Up was more concerned with saving hardware costs than making sure the online would work. To be clear, they developed a completely different (inferior) delay-based netcode version of Flycast that literally no one wanted or needed because that's all their cheap PCB's chipset could handle.

I'll admit I really like the artwork on this cabinet. I mean it's X-Men haha. What's not to love. Now saying that if I had to pick between this cabinet and the original mvc2 I think I would go with the original. I just want that arcade recreation and you get that with the original.

You and I are two peas in a pod when it comes to Konami beat ‘em ups. It all started with XMen for me and I would say Golden Axe is my second fave (Not Arcade1Up’s lol but actual cabs). I just can’t justify buying any of these arcade1up’s when you can clearly see the company is in disarray and the prices even on sale you can get more value in other things like a 4k tv or PS5 etc.

These cabs are so jank I would never put one in my house. Laggy slow ass emulation, laggy ugly LCD panels, cheap non-happ control parts. Like why bother? Without a CRT they're pointless, just play on your other TVs. The cabs are either too small compared to the original size, or not small enough given how little is inside them. You're just paying for printed particle board. Completely pointless.
