I've barely watched any delena videos since S6 finale, because they are so special to me that I wanna keep their moments untouched in my memory. This is so wonderful, so wonderful, I have no words. I'm in tears, you captured this last Damon quote so well, I can't even... Seriously girl, it is the best delena video for 7th season. I'm quitting life.

OMg this is soo heartbreaking all the call backs to the earlier seasons and the quotes!

This wasn't Damon letting her go. This was Damon just sealing his heart with Elena inside the coffin. Which I thought was a beautiful thing. Cause above everything else, he remained faithful to her. Sure he had a night with one girl and it's definitely noticeable that Damon would at times be flirty and more affectionate towards Bonnie in S6 on.. (honestly had Elena actually died with Bonnie not linked to her, I think Damon and Bonnie would've eventually ended up together.) But I loved that this was basically Damon telling Elena that she will always have his heart. Until they'd be together again. 😭❤ Damon didn't love anyone (minus Stefan) they way he loved Elena. In some ways they remind me of Romeo and Juliet. They're love is so deep, passionate, beautiful, yet..they're a wreck without each other. The thought of being without each other forever killed them both inside. (Realistically that may lean towards codependency, but as fictional characters, it's beautifully tragic.) Damon needed to see what kind of person he could be without Elena. He needed to be able to grow without her and take everything she gave him and apply it to his own life. And though tbh, at times, he wasn't all that successful..but what was a huge help was the fact that he had Stefan and Bonnie to be there for him. Stefan was his brother, he'd always be there for him. And Bonnie became like Damon's "Lexi" and was (the way I always looked at it) the person to fill in for Elena in her absence. Damon knew that he'd see her again one day and I love that (a plus of being a vampire) he decided that he'd try to find ways to live his life, honor her, and be apart from her..while still remaining faithful to her. They'll always be true love. Even the freaking sleeping spell, potentially costing them 60 years of their chance to build their future together, couldn't tear them apart. Damon and Elena forever. ❤

I wonder how some people ship stelena after all this. Elena made Damon a better person and even Damon did this with elena. They love, before they were friends and before they were friends they hated eachother. Now both know that they can not stay away and even say stefan. They are THE END OF THE GAME. Damon does not care how many years he will have to wait for elena next to him because he knows that she is always with him. At Elena no matter how Stefan loves her or how difficult it is to report to Damon because she LOVES him and he LOVES HER SO STOP SAYING THAT THEIR RELATIOSHIP IS BAD AND A MESS AND STOP SAYING THAT ELENA IS A BITCH CAUSE SHE HAD TO MAKE A CHOICE AND SHE CHOSSE DAMON! STOP BEING JEALOUS AND STUPID

Delena is one of the greatest love stories on TV. My 11 year old self percieved their relationship so pure yet so intriguing, so right. I grew up, I watched a lot of tv after TVD and no couple was ever quite big enough. TVD is not my favorite TV series, maybe it is, because of fond childhood memories. This couple is great. A love that consumes you, passion, adventure and even a little danger. Isn't that what we all really want anyway? I honestly dont see how people can ship Stelena after so many obstacles DE had to overcome. Supernatural coma, memory loss, death, humanity switch, sire bond, transition, Elenas inability to make a choice, hatred. It all ended up becoming the biggest love story of all time for me. It is a joy to watch this amazing journey. Watch Damon become the better man, that he always has been, because he needed to feel human and Elena made him feel that, and when Elena was dead, Damon made her feel alive. They are a perfect match! I am entirely grateful that this couple gave me an opportunity to be able to look for those four things in relationships❤️

People often forget that before Elena Damon was not always the complete selfish douchbag he was portrayed as in the 1950'S to early 2000'S from 1864 to most of 1912 he was not enjoying his vampirism and only did the snatch eat and erase trick once a day just to get his fill and that is it and even after Sage taught him to embrace who and what he was and enjoy it Damon still mostly stuck to the same tactics only difference is he killed people that he saw having it coming to them not random people he saw as innocent. Just as Stefan was not always the selfless one you mostly see from the 1940'S to much of the early 2000'S.
