ZSJL Steppenwolf literally WINS though! His plan for Darkseid is 100% successful until Barry runs back time at the end and undoes his work. Even then, Darkseid comes back and wins later, so I argue Steppy should be in the excellent tier

Yes, even though was starting to get beat at the end the mother boxes did fuse together and he effectively won until Barry travel through time.

Best Marvel goon is probably Ebony Maw. He was loyal to the end and managed to capture one of the strongest heroes. Thanos even said himself that he accomplished his mission. That's a rare thing for goons to actually succeed.

reliability stat 100% but survivability is a concern as his awareness might be more decent rather than great. he kinda underestimated his situation and the abilities of the avengers on the ship back to titan which got him killed. though in endgame he did live until tony's snap, which was kind of the biggest battle to have ever been battled so he's definitely high tier at least

@@rybread1929 True but I can't think of any Marvel goons that completed their mission and survived. So I think Maw is best MCU goon overall. Edit: Maybe Zola could be a close second. Though his loyalty to Red Skull seemed questionable.

This is a great idea. Also, War Machine and Falcon are definitely sidekicks in Iron Man and Winter Soldier respectively, less so in later films.

Black Manta didn’t do anything in that movie except talk about how much he wants to get revenge for his dad and how he doesn’t want money because he only is in it for revenge on his dad and how aqua man is gonna die as revenge for killing his dad and also he wants revenge for his dad.

I would call Desaad Darkseid’s Royal Visser, in the vein of Jafar. He’s an advisor whom Darkseid at least respects the opinion of (probably doesn't trust him though), and he's usually the one dealing with magic and alchemy and whatever twisted experiment he or Darkseid thinks up.

I think the Lazer eyes can be more useful then the gun if he has the activation for them, somewhere on his hand. Because, imagine someone told him "hands up" and pointed a gun at him. Well Black Manta can just press the button on his hand and shoot his Lazer eyes.

I barely recognise any of these goons, and they almost all have entirely the same colour palette. Honestly I like some aspects of DC, but the movies really do not sell it well. I watched this video more to remind me of who half the people even were. For the life of me I couldn't rememeber Desaad and I kept thinking he was one of Thanos' goons from MCU

When I think about myself, I don't think about myself as a hero or villain. I think of myself as a very reluctant goon, whether it be for a hero or villain. Just the kind of guy who might do something for someone if I'm feeling okay and it seems like kind of actually important. But maybe not

Second person to like the video! Just wanted to say I love your stuff, you gotta write a legit screenplay at some point. You could have an amazing future as a script-doctor or even a film writer. I think people would love if you even branched out with another channel that rewrites non-comicbook movies or whatever. Anyway, thanks for all the great enertainment, I'll donate some money when I get a job lol.

My one point of defense for the WW bank robber goon is that iirc the dceu lasso of truth has a history of making characters just start saying random truths they may have wanted to hide, not just what was asked directly. So that wasn’t a specific weakness of his. Like you said, just out of his depth 😂

i think the sins are better than grrrr. they never really LOSE to billy. they have him on the ropes until he shares the power, and even then they do work. shazam only wins by exploiting envy's..... well.... envy. he calls envy weak and ugly to draw envy out before shazaming envy apart. until then, the sins do work.

Black Manta is typical of most Black super heroes and villains. Most either have some kind of super suit or electrical powers. Look at Black Panther, unlike the other Marvel super monarchs Black Bolt, Dr. Doom, Namor his super power is a suit and he's as strong as what, an Olympic gymnast? Really! As a Black person who's been reading comics since I was a kid in the 70's it always bugged me that Black Super Heroes were relatively week compared to their White counterparts.

That’s an interesting observation. You do have some unique characters and heavy hitters like Icon, Spawn, Miles Morales, and Bishop, but there are definitely a lot of electric powered or super suit black characters. That is so weird.

@@Etticos. It's expected. Most of the comic writers are and were White so they didn't really think of Black Super heroes until the 60's civil rights movement and then after they were introduced the idea of making a Black hero as powerful as Thor or the Hulk wouldn't even occur to them. They had to retcon Blue Marvel and greatly increase Luke Cage's strength because they had been getting criticized for the lack of alpha Black representation.
