Kevin’s way of thinking and teaching the black community is considered dangerous to the Jim Crow “thinkers”. Once unity begins, they’ll deem him as a threat. Kevin is trying to save the black family, and he knows we can’t do it without the black woman. I’m a student Kevin. Teach my brother.

Yes of course. Jim crow thinkers and feminists and commercial Hip hopers and rappers are making living off destroying Black community and untold suffering of millions of black kids growing up without father, adopting mindset of criminals, who end up dead from all reasons that comes to your mind, or end up on streets as homeless rather than having families and extended kin network who meet, eat dinner with eachother, support each other financially, raising best kids and arrange marriaging with each other so that no black girl left to sell her most valuable dignity, and end up baby momma.

My grandfather was an Italian immigrant who spoke only broken english. Despite his third grade education, he was highly skilled and made a career as a machinist. He went to work everyday in a coat and tie and gentleman's hat and drove his beautiful American luxury automobile to work. When he got there he would change into his shop coveralls. At the end of the day, he would shower, put on his suit and drive home. Everyone in the neighborhood was certain he was either a doctor, lawyer or high-ranking executive. He had excellent manners and true class. Decades later my grandmother told me that my grandfather never came to the kitchen table in a t-shirt. He wasn't always fancy, but always presentable. He was never stuck up or pretentious. This important lesson was passed down to me from my father: Be very careful how you leave the house, because you are representing the family. Bring honor on the family name. I have never forgotten this.

I second that brother, I get that as due to the way I care myself. People associate the military with order and discipline, someone worthy of respect, people want to respect you based on you going to the military rather than your disciplined image, I guess its against social construct to accept a black man who is disciplined, at this point you might as well use that image to make a difference for the better.

Don't get me wrong I can put it together when needed I am not a slave to it. I like the free spirit nature. It all comes down to being comfortable or confident in ones skin. My father raised me and compared to my friends with mother’s I never ever heard my father gossip or even speak ill towards another man so often I never knew the gossip in the community that everyone but me knew. I used to only wear blazers and blouses, nice shoes and always have my hair curled. White people would treat me like a First Lady, but black people would always tell me I’m over dressed and question why I looked “so nice”. Slowly I started changing the way I dressed and used sneakers and hoodies, so I blended in more with black people. But bwoi Kevin has really opened my eyes with this!! Honestly the influence we keep really does make a difference. All these years I’ve been influenced negatively by my so called friends because they always want to walk around naked or in sneakers. Since I started wearing sneakers, I got less positive attention. I’m going back to My blazers and blouses and looking like a lady in my heels.

Thank you for this blog Mr. Samuels, it's usefulness is needed. I am a black woman raised overseas , and this is all shocking to me. The shock stems from the fact we as a people tend to spoon feed certain stereotypes to ones who wish to oppress. The only way to," nip this in the bud" so to say is to rise above situations. It is a double edge sword as you said, I have been called ," White Washed" due to the fact I am very articulate and walk in the truth of the way I was raised. We are not all raised or from lower economic situations.

What a great message, Kevin. Very well planned video. I know your message was pointed at the black man but, there was still lots of info that can apply to boys/men of any ethnicity. Your message about image in general, very much applies to all men of this modern age. This message was very much needed in today’s society.

Black men we need to stop pushing out this negative ignorant image of ourselves. That “rapper” “thug” look. Don’t copy others style and looks, be your own human, and don’t dress ignorant to fall into negative stereotypes.

Exactly, wearing clothes like that puts a target on your back because of the stigmas attached to that style of dressing. 🙏🏾

This is a overall issue with young men, not only black people I, as a white dude, am starting to dress better even to go to my friends' house. I get joked around for it and I just got in a shirt, some pants and a pair of boots. I get all the "Look at you, all fancy and shit". Thing is I am looking at myself in the mirror and I am way more confident in myself while dressing better. And I notice older people looking at me more, smiling more, being better put towards me in general. Unfortunately this ''Don' t care how you dress" vibe is a modern era issue.

I come from a large Catholic Black family from the south. (LA). We were working class, and my parents always sent us out into the world with clean clothes in which we dressed for the moment. Even today when I travel, I always dress and I have so much pride and I'm treated very well. I 😎often tell people to dress and present yourself, and see how you will be accepted and treated.
