No, the 4th wall breaks in Deadpool works because it serves his character. He's not just nuts, he has disregards to lotta things, including more conventional narrative. So it works. I think the writers wanted the show to be a complete troll/commentary, similar to the vibe of the last episode. I think the higher ups wanted a rehashing of what has worked. Remember when they started production, ppl werent as negative about the formula being repeatedly used. They did a bunch of reshoots for the last episode, and my assumption is they added more of the trolling element, as Jessica Gao has spoken about how she had been pushing for more of that, but we dont get much of it until episode 9. On the other hand, they may have just added questions about mutants, red hulk easter eggs, etc. Either way, I think the 9th episode would have hit harder if She-Hulk had griped about the formulaic content creation more, and could reference her comments in past episode with KEVIN

They’ve figured there shit out now once Wakanda Forever wraps phase 4 up than majority of projects will pretty much start to interweave with each other again story wise. Marvel hears the noise it’s just a matter of fact if they adjust there blueprint of production for these D+ Shows it just feels way too lazy and takes to long to get into the serious stakes. The MCU was always a comedic franchise way before BVS . Iron Man released in 2008. They just lack their focus and commitment they used to have in Infinity Saga. Plus Disney just want to milk this franchise as long as it is profitable. They did the same with Star wars

@@yatin9530 Nah. Early MCU movies definitely had comedic moments but the comedy bits never overshadowed the entirety of the movie. Comedy was used sparingly. A good comparison is the first Thor movie that certainly had comedic moments but the main characters were treated with respect. Compare that with the latest Thor: Love and Thunder where you have a comedy gag every 5 minutes that essentially made the main characters look like clowns.

Yeah, I keep seeing “But there was a time when he was more lighthearted in the comics”. The thing of it is, he wasn’t popular then. His character just works best with a serious tone.

A quick google search will show you that season 3 viewership had substantially declined compared to the first season. This was also the same year when mcu was at the peak with Infinity war's release and people were more ecstatic about it than the Netflix show.

I think it was just a point in time where the constant cycle and machine was "turned off" for a bit, and audiences have come back with higher standards. Viewers won't just go see Lightyead and make it a $1B hit just because it is Pixar and Toy Story adjacent. Doctor Strange and Thor won't just be gifted $1B for being big Marvel movies like Captain Marvel. Top Gun gets rewarded, even No Way Home gets rewarded. Jurassic World Dominion makes the least of the 3 new films, Thor 4 makes less than the 3rd. Audiences just demand a higher standard, or rather aren't satisfied with the usual standard any more. Lockdowns honestly woke moviegoers up and made them more discerning. Lightyear was a huge box office flop while Minions crushed it. The appetite for an animated movie was there, but not for what they were pushing with Lightyear.
