Happy almost-Thanksgiving. What could be better than football and turkey? Well, there’s genocide and stuff, but we don’t want to ruin your holidays. Nope, we’ll leave that to the disingenuous folks who would like to pretend that there is absolutely nothing wrong with any American History not at all never. Enjoy your pie!

Yes, it was about states's rights. But it didn't start as soon as the states seceded (over slavery) It was because Jackson had zeroed out the national debt, not allowing centralized banks to form in the United States. The banks in France were meant to subjugate with debt the seceded southern states while the bank in England would take the northern states. And it would've worked too, if it weren't for that pesky Lincoln and his blasted Romanov friend in Russia, Alexander, blockading military assistance from Europe. A breakup of the United States, as per divide-and-conquer would have made subjugation easier, and 1984 might have actually happened by 1984 if it weren't for those two! Funny how things turn out these days, seeing as how the Confederacy would've been a tool for the NWO back then, where now Confederate types comprise of belligerents most irritating for the ambitious modern day tyrants-in-waiting. They're trying to destroy our American identity. Tearing down statues and shitting on popular franchises to erase our history. A people without identity is demoralized and easily conquerable. They're trying SO HARD to keep racism alive with baseless accusations. Trying SO HARD to divide the American people. And you can't easily do that when you have equal protection under the law coupled with judicial precedence. I could be the most racist sonuvabitch on the planet, but if I'm not protecting the Constitutional Rights of fellow Americans, whatever their race, I'm not protecting MY Constitutional Rights. Let's not forget we're in this together, lest the tyrants win.

And they let everyone who worked on it go, so it's not like they can just fire it back up again. What a waste. At least they didn't delete everything. Most people don't know this but the first colony who survived the winter (thus making it the first thanksgiving) survived it by cannibalism. They left actual journals of their time. They praise God that over 90% of the heathen savages were killed off by sickness, praised him again when he led them to their burial grounds so they could loot the bodies of their valuables, then gave more praise because they knew were all those bodies were and ate them during the first winter. It's actually really ironic, if you think about it, that we have this mythos about them Injun Savages and them right goode White Settlers shared the first "thanksgiving", when what they really ate were the first wave of plague victims. It's like, that actually did happen, only they ate the people instead of a turkey.

These racists disgust me. I'm someone who cares quite a bit about history and not particularly fond of this idea that 'native Americans' are this homogenous blob instead of a multitude of diverse tribes each with different cultures and technologies. On top of that, they often conveniently overlook Mezo-American groups like the Inca, Aztec and Maya people. All of whom had built grand temples, had complex religions, large trade routes, complex militaries and had knowledge of astronomy, engineering and cultivation. There's two beliefs that I really dislike. The belief that technology is linear and the further back in time you go, the more primitive people become (which is untrue. There have been tons of empires all over the world that rose and fell, each of them discovering and building great things that were ultimately lost) and this racist idea that certain tribes were 'primitive' and thus unable to create complex cultures. Humans are humans, no matter where they live. And humans, no matter where they might end up, have the ability to not only survive, but ultimately learn how to thrive even if they have very little to build with. Humans thriving has nothing to do with race or time period. And no, it wasn't aliens that taught the other races how to build stuff. Fuck that shit.

@@Onepiecethunder23 Yes for the time being the Cracked video channel is dead. Cody still makes new videos under the name Some More News, one of the best sources for understanding stories beyond what the mainstream news provides. He recently did a video on Tucker Carlson thats over 40 minutes long but it is worth it. As for the Cracked channel as a whole though they are not releasing new videos, and I agree it does suck. I see a lot of people such as you who bash people for bashing them. It is sad that whataboutism is used as an argument for flaws being pointed out on one's side. But why not once, acknowledge their points and accept that there are problems on both sides and have a discussion. It is so easy to see radical and want to become a radical to deal with him. If your objective is to change his mind, you have massively failed. A person would rather die than to forfiet to someone else when being radical. Why not rather try to make him less radical, that allows for better flow of information and change. Many people have political and ideological leanings because of family and environmental views they grew up in. If the left truly believe they are better than the right, then be accomodating of the right so its easier for them to see that there is an actual difference between the two sides.

Have you... tried this? Like, I get the sentiment of wanting to cause them to better understand the situation, but... Do you have any idea why debates dont tend to work? Aside from the equal-floor between the uneducated and the well educated (see any climate change argument ever, or any debate on TV about anything scientific), it does not help that humans follow emotive arguments more than logical ones. I was totally against both sides of the political spectrum until I looked more into Obama and what he said. Then I hear this insane spew of raw hatred from the right, and I get so confused because I had thought racism was dying out, and that there was no way anyone could make an argument about something by downing so many cans of Alphabet soup that they throw up randomized words. Look, its all well and good to try to be the nice guy in these situations, but this is not a climate for those types of people to survive any political debate. Shit, just look at the Kevis Russ guy beneath this. Its not that he has not had people try to debate him, it is that he is so full of shit shoveled by the right wing media that he refuses to even consider they misled him. Its why they use fear mongering to such a degree in the first place. When you are scared, everyone becomes the enemy, even the calmest and nicest person. Its not inexperience with debates, its sheer willful ignorance.
@dragoonman9270
@dragoonman9270 6 жыл бұрын
Thats the difference between having a discussion and debating. I dont like debates either, because the only peaceful resolutions turns out to be "lets agree to disagree", which makes the debate pointless in the first place. I would ask, what is the point of commenting if you are not looking to change a person;s point of view? If you are just looking for other like minded people to feel better about your opinion, then its fine. But whenever you feel the urge to voice out your opinion you do it in hopes of some change effected by it. Instead of thinking of it as a good thing to be nice, think of it as the better of two shitty deals handed to you. Someone else may have started the fight, but you joining in does not give you much of a moral highground. I believe it is the moral responsibility of the educated to educate the uneducated. Of course being treated like shit for doing so is something one has to accept, as there will always be people who do that. But if there is one person who can be changed because of what I say, then awesome.
@themadmystic1688
@themadmystic1688 6 жыл бұрын
I would agree about the responsibility of the educated to... educate, but the problem of what I said remains. As for the moral high ground, I call bullshit on that, especially with the comment section being more racially charged than I have ever see. At any point, if someone brings up race and decides they are superior because of it, and everyone else should either bend their knees or die, there is not much you can do to go lower than them. Its also not easy to go lower than someone outright denying facts and logic. Now, I get the idea of what you are saying, and I would love if it were that simple, but can you tell me you have done this and actually changed someone's mind, particularly in this extremely heated and hatred fueled time? I stopped trying after the entire topic got derailed by Hillary's emails, when it started with Trump's non-denial of Nazism. Like, I get what you are saying and I would love to do it if it worked, but its very different when the person does not just refuse to listen, but actively denies any possibility of them being wrong. Its a psychological thing I wish did not happen, but it does and talking to them does not really help. They have to suffer from their own choices to really wake up to the fact that they were wrong. Given the current political and social climate, I am sure you have seen cases of this. I have an astounding gift of viewing things from other people's perspectives, usually, and it made this entire debacle such a confusing mess of pride over reality that I am unsure how to go about it anymore. I have genuinely lost faith in humanity because of the willful ignorance some display without regard towards their children's future. Your idea works if they were just uneducated, but these are people who were educated wrongly and told everyone who disagreed with them was an enemy. They are unwilling to listen to reason, and very stubborn about the most basic of things. Those who have not already changed their minds are the ones who will refuse to do so until the bitter end, or actually agree with it, and I am unsure which is worse.

Felicia Gardner Slavery was a big factor but most of the confederates fought for their families and states. Its stupid that the left thinks that all the confederates were hateful racists. The north was no better. They had immigrant slaves. Large companies would trick new immigrants into accepting “well playing” jobs which, in the fine-print, said that they could only shop and rent from company owned businesses. This was designed to make these unknowing immigrants deep in debt. They were then required to keep working for the factories or be thrown into prison. So yeah, the north were fucking assholes too, they just had the federal government on their side. Robert E. Lee was loyal to his state and respectfully resigned from the union. Robert E Lee didnt fight for slavery but rather his home and family. He was the greatest general of his day winning many battles with a severe disadvantage. Today people try and idiotically judge history by todays standards, completely ignoring the culture and understandings of the time. This has lead many people to teach “history” of of opinions rather than facts and evidence.

Reading Guns Germs and Steel right now, geography literally determined the entire history of the planet. Native Americans weren't "backwards", they were geographically at a disadvantage- born at a latitude and longitude without large domestic-able animals, crops, and level terrain between hemispheres. They literally cultivated and domesticated everything available to them. Everything else was literally out of their reach.

That was laugh a minute awesome. I learned stuff too. Can we have this video on National Curriculum? To be shown on Columbus Day? Quite brilliant. 😁👍

How about we just drop the pilgrim thing and make it a general harvest holiday, like it originally was before people put their politics into it by making it about plymouth

Justin Germeroth seriously. Just a day to be thankful we can gather with family, have a day off, and get fat.

As for Columbus Day? No one gets the day off or even celebrates it. Just pop that off the calendar and move on

So what you are saying is that we should ignore the group who created the day of thanksgiving, and ignore the very simple and pure concepts that it entails, like the idea of being grateful for what you have, spending time together as friends and family, the idea that people of differing cultures and ideas can work together and achieve a lot, etc? Yeah, that sounds totally logical!

Is your family like super Republican and stuff? Because if so doing that is probably the worst thing you could possibly do to them and you should totally do it

Abigail Cheshire agree. They seem to pop up covers of the books where some quotes are from and screenshots of other documents but was hoping there would be a list of these same sources in the description.
