Heres something more moronic; due to differences in body immunities the activists would be killing every tribesman by bubonic plague, measles, basically anything actually. Net On nah I think being burned alive is the worst way to go, not just by fire, acid, electricity. It freaks me out just thinking about it, even though you’d probably just suffocate on the fumes.

Fun Fact: An actual Amazon tribe (who were very nice and friendly) played the cannibal tribe in the movie. When the crew approached them to be in the movie, they realized the tribe had no idea what a movie was. To show them, Eli (the film's director) brought in a TV and played "Cannibal Holocaust", a movie similar to this one. The tribe liked it and thought it was a comedy. Some that signed up to be extras even ended up working as crew members. The villagers also really appreciated being in the movie.

What I love most about this movie is the fact that the tribe is actually a tribe and are really nice

Those darts...IM injections take 10-15 minutes to work so unless the tribe happened to hit you perfectly in a vein or artery, you'd have at least 10 minutes before losing consciousness, so the dude with the tracker would have had more than enough time to set it off. Also, after escaping the cage, even if they blow darted you right away, you'd have at least 10 mins to try and find somewhere to hide until you regained consciouness

Why try to fact check a movie without researching at all. It doesn't take NEARLY as long as 10-15 minutes when your body is pumping adrenaline through you and your heart rate is going super fast. None of these people are calm and at rest, the toxin in the darts definitely is spreading way faster than normal.

The fact that they didn't even know the name of the tribe they were trying to help is a sadly realistic part of this movie, most mission trips/"service" in developing countries is designed to benefit the students far more than the locals. Obviously they didn't deserve being butchered lmao but anyone who thinks about doing a volunteer trip should be careful to understand where they're going, what's selfish for tourists to do in foreign countries, and what the benefit of their work will actually be

Agreed. i knew a guy in my class who went to Slovenia for 2 weeks (wouldnt stop talking bout it) for a mission trip with his church. Less of a mission trip, more like a two week vacation with some mass thrown in and a few bouts of feeding the poor. Those kinds of trips are definitely more for the individual than those they are "helping," considering the shelters they visited already had enough staff to volunteer. Extra hands is nice, but if you are planning on a mission trip, do research on what you're actually getting into and the practicality/benefits of what youre doing.

Local people would benefit from money far more than volunteering because by volunteers for example building a house for free in Africa they harm builders there who could make money by building the house and if the money spent on volunteering was instead given to the person building the house not only would there be a house but also a local builder would make money form it and benefit the economy

my first problem with the movie was the pilot lost control of the plane as soon as the engine spontaneously combusted.. even with no engine those planes can still maintain altitude for quite a while.. Also Elohendro being alive at the very end, trapped within the tribe, it was perfect.

the problem with that is that once the tribe saw them in those uniforms, they would have immediately already identified them as construction workers which wouldn't change with them simply removing the uniforms and even for the tribesmen who didn't see them with the uniforms, it would be communicated by the ones who did who exactly it is they've captured

I swear there’s one part in the movie where it’s raining and most of them are still alive and I can’t help but think that in the rain with several Fully grown adults that must weigh somewhere between 120 and 200 that if they were to all run towards a wall repeatedly using their combined weight like a battering ram should at least break some of the sticks if not release them from the mud

Thats why, no matter how long a relationship, they often fall apart once a baby gets thrown in . You can guess and say this is how you react, but in fatal situations there's flight, fight and freeze. Most people freeze then flight. My bet is most would flight if confronted by cannibals 🤣

There was a pirate game I used to play when I was little in which u basically do what pirates do, loot,plunder and take over ports and control the seas. My favourite thing to do was to find cannibal settlement accross the map and attack them and kill everyone, at that time I felt like I did a good job. Then I learned about colonialism, and felt bad about what I used to do, then I saw this movie and thought to myself "Hey maybe they had it coming to em".

The best part about this movie is that those villagers aren't actors at all they are real indigenous tribes-people, Eli Roth had to basically mime and mimic the movements and show them what to do and play with the fake bloody body parts, they thought it was fun. Although they aren't complete cannibals, they have no idea about the modern world or technology or movies or anything. This movie is so good, first time I saw it I almost got sick xD

Tips for anyone who actually wants to visit the amazon: - Don't go to the Peruvian side of the forest, as Peru itself is very sparsely populated. Go to the brazilian side, as the brazilian government cathegorizes every indigenous tribe, contacted or not - NEVER mess with the workers, they are used to dealing with protesters and many carry guns - If you find yourself lost in the amazon, go DOWNSTREAM, most rivers in the amazon all end in the amazon river, which has many "big" cities along it, worst case scenario, you end up in the ocean.

Alejandro's survival makes sense only two ways: Either he escaped the cage after all the warriors left, which is unlikely considering they likely would have kept at least 1 guard around, or more likely he's alive because so many male members of the tribe died fighting the construction crew that the women of the tribe elected to let him live to breed.

I don’t know, I feel like if I were the tribespeople and I knew I were getting into a war with people with firearms then I’d want all the help I can get. They also have no reason to keep him trapped, if they somehow win the battle then they will have more than enough dead bodies to keep them fed and hopefully some living ones as well given the darts, if they lose the battle then leaving him trapped is not useful at all because they all died or had to retreat to a different part of the forest and I heavily doubt they’d want to carry a fully grown man with them in their swift retreat. The women and children went to fight as well so I believe they did think that they needed all of their people to fight off the threat.

the last you see alejandro is not there, there's a cut between the credits at the end of the movie and a satellite picture shows an image of alejandro in the amazon in all black paint. my theory is he became one of them and now hunts people like the other guy in all black from that tribe.
