WI V. DAHMER (1992) - Milwaukee police Detective Patrick Kennedy, who got Jeffrey Dahmer to confess, takes the stand.
A new Netflix documentary "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" explores the gruesome story of Jeffrey Dahmer. Court TV cameras were inside the Wisconsin courtroom in 1992, where a jury was tasked to decide whether Dahmer, who pleaded guilty to the murders and dismemberment of 15 boys and men, should be sentenced to life in prison or admitted to a mental institution.

Why are you playing reruns of a extremely well known case from decades ago? The man who ran over the Christmas parade in waukesha is in court right now. Why are you ignoring that case?

@@nunceccemortiferiscultu7826 We had a case similar to this one in my country some years ago. It's sad that it happens the same again now in 2023. By the way, The accident was a terrorist attack. It's impossible to contemplate all the cases. But this one about Jeffrey Dahmer was new to me, I learned about this case in September because of the TV series on Netflix.

Patrick Kennedy was a great Detective, he passed on not to long ago, after the Dahmer case, from a heart attack. Right??? Like especially the little Chinese dude. Can you imagine what was going through his head when they let Jeffrey take him back to his apartment 😳😬. Didn’t they say he didn’t speak English or he was speaking in Chinese?? He was probably so traumatized and they DEFINITELY had to notice that Im sure, wish They would’ve taken him in for questioning Simply heartbreaking. And even though Jeffrey Dahmer is/was a monster he knew deep down he was. Looks to me from what I just seen here he wanted to be caught to stop himself otherwise he wouldn’t of spilled his guts. In my humble opinion. I’ve never watched anything about this, well very little.

I'm not very fond of police and I also believe that they should have done much more to save the victims. However, I think that Patrick Kennedy , at least this one, did a good job. He could get a confession from Jeffrey Dahmer and this helped to identify the victims and give them back to their families. Also, he was very professional, respectful and human with him. He "injected" into Jeffrey Dahmer some kind of humanity during the interrogation that lasted 6 weeks. When the trial was over, he focused on improving the relationships between police and community, specially the minority ones. so, he was aware that mistakes were done and he contributed in small way to improve and teach the future police officers. I'm not a fan of him either, but he brought some light into such darkness. He should have had a more important role on the Netflix TV series too. RIP Patrick Kennedy.

Now I wonder why this one is less-liked, b/c the truth reveal how non-dominant this feminine looking of some of gun was and looked like and that he used poison strategy. However at 18:00 I didn't like how he conveniently omitted how the last victim got away after he punched him and kicked him the stomach and ran away.

That's the same thing I just commented!! Who in the hell having sex in their grandma's house--gay or straight??? On top of that, pulverizing dead bodies in the basement!!! I swear my Grandma could hear someone sneezing too loudly in the basement and she's all the way on the second floor!!! Maybe the grandma was on a cruise or something. I dunno. She did eventually tell her son about all the weird sounds and smells tho!! The father came over and confronted him about it.

if you don't know too much about jeff dahmer as a person it'd be easy to say he was the definition of evil. hell, the things this guy did were unthinkable and beyond me. however in cases quite like his, you should bring yourself to be capable of seeing further than the labels "monster and cannibal". a monster criminal would be someone that felt zero remorse, they wouldn't care about the atrocities they have committed and would brag about them. however jeff didn't do this. he sincerely wanted to help the police in identifying the remains of the victims, he wanted to make ammends, try and make things right as much as he could. whether jeff really felt remorse for taking the life of 17 people, we can never be for sure. we cannot get inside his mind. however we can tell a lot how he felt about those murders through his actions, body language and behavior. jeff cried during interrogations when talking about certain victims. what the reasoning being for this we cannot be sure, but these aren't the actions of a monster with no feelings and remorse. if you're interested in jeff's case i truly recommend reading grilling dahmer or the shrine of jeffrey dahmer.

@@Philosophyenthusiast I agree with the idea of digging deeper into the psyche of an individual like Jeff. The guy killed people and kept their body parts because he couldn’t bring himself to part with them. He said himself ; “I loved them”. He was clearly very sick. I believe we label people a “monster” when we can’t possibly understand them.

So, according to Dahmer's confession, he killed Tuomi in the summer of 1984. Then, the detectives changed the dates to November 1987. Also, according to the confession, he killed Sears about the winter of 84-85 (changed to March 89), a year earlier than Guerrero. They changed a lot of things because many of the victims were still alive when Dahmer allegedly killed them or didn't even live in Milwaukee.

Detective Kennedy stated after spending 6 weeks talking to Dahmer, he actually came to like him and felt sorry for him. This is an example of how evil can deceive a person. Dahmer was sick and evil and he admitted it himself. Dahmer’s niceness was nothing but mimicking how others behave. There’s no way he had a kind soul. No way, not with the heinous crimes he committed.

@@My3Sons333 He wasn’t a psychopath like Bundy, devoid of empathy and remorse. He suppressed his emotions with alcohol and by objectifying his victims so that he could fulfill his compulsions. He made no excuses for this, admitted he was sick or evil and apologized to the families of the victims. He didn’t know why he had those compulsions and was honest that they never completely went away. He wanted to be killed, and chose to be taken out of Solitary knowing he would be killed. He did not try to defend himself when fellow prisoner Scarver did kill him.

One psychiatrist pretty much said the same thing you did. He didn't believe Jeffrey killed those men so they could stay with him forever like he claimed.
