Surprised that Mark didn't mention that the director was William "One Shot" Beaudine, who directed more B movies than anyone else in history. My favorite Beaudine story was when he was directing a Bowery Boys movie and the studio was telling him to hurry it up; he said "you'd think someone was waiting to see this!"

It’s one thing to compliment Mark’s ability to seamlessly insert himself into the movie, but to match the bright red ascot? It puts his work at a whole other level.

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen Dracula in a different genre. In the early 70s, Hammer productions and the Shaw Bros teamed up to produce The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires in which Van Helsing & his son team-up with a clan of shaolin monks to slay Dracula and his army of Jiangshi (Chinese hopping vampires).

The Folger's coffee lady was recognizable for many roles in '60s TV westerns. And I recognized the real Mrs. Olsen too (the old woman in the stagecoach) for her speaking role as a member of the River City Woman's Auxilliary of the 1960 musical THE MUSIC MAN. So the production had to have had something going for it to have attracted name actors to do this turkey. It certainly couldn't have been the script or its ridiculous concept. Were they doing someone a favor, or was it just the paycheck? Or maybe it was just a part that was indistinguishable from the other 60s TV western schlock they were accustomed to being booked for.

Hey Mark! Loooongtime fan! I think I've seen all your movie videos, most many times, including the "Bad Movies!" days. I don't think I've commented before except to participate in your 10 year anniversary giveaway, so this is long overdue. I love your videos; never stop! I think everyone here can agree your self-insertions are a unique feature of your show. They are always fun and well done, and you seem to be getting even better as time goes. Most are hilarious, and the one in this movie made me ROFL, so I had to finally post. The scene where the girl makes BtK apologize and it cuts to you waiting with your hand cupped to your ear (and saying nothing) was brilliant comedy. I've seen many complimentary comments about how seamless your self-insertions are, and I completely agree - always well done in both production quality and hits just the right comedic notes. But let's not forget the videos as a whole - always funny, and something that most fans don't comment on, I always learn something about the film-making process from your explanations about what the movie did wrong, or what you speculate may have gone wrong. And I love all the research you do to give context for the movies! And third, your offhanded idea about a movie character who can just disappear at will? That sounds like the bud of a promising idea. Dude, make it! Write up a treatment or script, and create a kickstarter or something to make it! I would invest if the idea is good, and I'm sure it would be, as you're clearly creative, and if you had faith in it, I would too. Khaire! P.S. I was a projectionist at a theater in the 80s and we screened this for the kiddies for a Halloween thing. Even kids wanted their money back.

This movie inspired Joe Lansdale to write a novella called "Dead in the West" and a few other stories, about a gun-toting preacher who hunts different monsters in the east Texas thicket. Probably my favorite "pulp" character ever made, and I'm still in shock there hasn't been a movie made of this property, yet.

I actually watched this on TV a few months ago because I saw the title and thought : wtf??

I feel like I saw this as a kid and all I remember is that I thought after it was over, "Well, that was something." This is bringing back memories I have long since forgotten.

This film was directed by William Beaudine who was famous for churning out movies as quickly and cheaply as possible and made something like 360 films in his career.

Here in Pittsburgh we had a locally produced late night horror/sci-fi movie show called Chiller Theater. It was broadcast from the 60's to the 80's. BILLY THE KID VS DRACULA was shown on a yearly rotation, and for some reason I missed it every time. I gladly own it on DVD now.

I reckon the "traveling at night" line was added because they shot during the day, rather than something they neglected to take out. And since it wasn't post 1973 (when day for night became a thing), the conversation would be more akin to: "Hey, guys, you know Dracula can't stand sunlight, right?" "Well, guess we'll just add a line here about it being night."

I think someone should redo this movie with Mark cast as a snarky Dracula. In the climax he throws the gun back at Billy knocking him out and escapes to Canada for the sequel, Dracula versus The Friendly Giant.
