I work for a small truck company out of Detroit. We do heavy haul (160,000 pounds). Our trucks only get 4.25mpg (on average). We would go out of business if we got to $11/gal. Right now it's about $5.50/gal

shout out to the editor of these videos! awesome to see some more activity on this channel also there isn't a fuel shortage the petrol/diesel station companies are just price gouging the hell out of everyone because they can. Here in Australia our government forced fuel station companies to put the price back to normal.

When you go to Lab from St Johns do you take the P.AuxB Ferry to NS and go up through Northern QC or is there a boat from StJohns to Goosebay? I always wondered that. We have a 3500 Ram @ 200 L from empty @ 2.70 a fill up is $540.00 each fill up. We've had to raise our rates and we take less loads and fill our trailer with ltl

One of my friends in San Diego, California said a month ago diesel fuel there was $7 gal and a KZfaqr in Sweden said diesel fuel there is about $12 gal. Where as here in Natchitoches, Louisiana it’s about $5gal. It might could be a bit lower if one of the richest people in Natchitoches Parish didn’t own just about every single gas station here and also the towns for about 100 mile radius, lucky for me I buy mine through a Co-Op for loggers and agricultural people and our fuel is a tad bit lower per gallon sometimes ever as low as $0.50 a gallon less.

I’ve been hearing a lot of rumors that within 2 weeks the eastern seaboard of the US is going to face massive diesel shortages. I was talking to Tyson about the fuel costs as well. It’s more in NS than it is in BC even. Messed up times we live in. We all have a lot of money tied up in thirsty equipment that needs to earn its keep. On a side note, my dad and grandparents lived in Labrador city in the 60’s. My grampa did a lot of the electrical work there for Iron Ore Canada when they started up

@JamesDavis-jo9tk2 жыл бұрын
Common sense tells me two things on fuel prices. You either increase supply or ration fuel to bring prices down. Trucking shouldn’t have to be rationed because they are necessary for the supply chain but the rest of us need to slow down on consumption. It’s either that or drill and refine more oil.

I sold my highway truck in 2019. It had 1123L(950L is the most I put in it). Here in North Bay its 2.45/L it would be $2345 to fill. For the original job I was using it for I would make 5.5 trips on a tank($3300 revenue) when I went to haul fuel I was getting 2600-3000km per tank. It would still be making money at those 2019 rates but not like I was. A two week fuel bill was about $3k, so now it's $6.5k. Truck make $20k every two weeks. I dont know where rates are at the moment(don't care really) I am paid to drive a bus for the government. I'm just like you, no idle. My 2020 F250 has the same mileage as my 2019 did at 2 years in service but almost 1000hrs less engine on time

I just read an article about diesel shortages on the east coast of the US. The article said that in part it was due to Gulf Coast refineries shipping oil overseas. Why in the world would you ship oil overseas when there is a shortage here. These corporations are screwing people for their huge profits. I guess that shouldn't be a surprise but something has to change or it's going to get real scary. They sure like to raise prices in big jumps but when it goes down not so much. Diesel went up 30 cents a gallon in one day here. It has gone down three times since then. For a total of 8 cents per gallon.
@davidcaskey4669 Жыл бұрын
Diesel is centane not octane so the rating your looking at on the diesel pump is not octane. Diesel has more BTU than gasoline you said no horsepower in diesel but there is alot of high horsepower diesels out there. I bet if you figured all the hour's you put in to maintenance and anythi k else associated with keep the truck running and your time waiting to get loaded If you added driving hours to these you would make more money at McDonald's

There are two words for the worry about oil shortage - 'Biden' and 'Trudeau' - both committed to opposing fossil fuel exploitation. Also, if you think it's nuts in Canada, have a quick look at prices on the eastern side of the pond. I've just paid GBP1.75/litre for diesel (call it $2.78 Canadian) and that's rock-bottom price for Britain, from one of the supermarket operators. Go to an oil company filling station and you can add at least GBP0.10 to that. Up in the wilds of northern Scotland it'll be much worse, but that's always been the case - small operators have less buying power, so have to pay more. Two years ago it dropped to a pound a litre at the supermarkets, but that was freakishly low. Now it's going up continuously - it was GBP1.45 at the start of 2022. What's more, the UK is no longer the most expensive country for fuel on this side of the Atlantic - the tax here got frozen over a decade ago while many of the continentals continued increasing theirs. The taxation attitude to diesel vs gasoline varies as well - I used to be able to rely upon refuelling with diesel in Belgium or France or Germany at less than UK prices, but then the Belgians hiked their tax and so did the French and the last time I travelled (pre-plague) I ended up finding Germany the least expensive on a tour of France/Belgium/Germany/Netherlands, but only the same price as in England. By contrast, the gasoline price in Germany was substantially heavier than in England. The former eastern-bloc nations are the place to go. Less than a pound a litre in the former Soviet states even now.
