The 450 pickup front axle is rated higher, it has bigger brakes front and rear ,the steering box is bigger .The 19.5 tires last way longer than the 350 tires & the front 2/3 of the frame is heaver ,same as cab chassis 450. The 14k gvw like the 350 is done for a reason. I just ordered a 450 regular cab pickup diesel regular out put i dont need the HO.

Goverment vehicles are fitted without DEF or Emmisons equipment so go figure they don't want to pay for fixing their garbage even though Taxation pays for them to run trucks like the rest of us. I was unsubcribed from alot of channels then I had to restart old Utube was taken down even though my channel doesn't have much onit

In 2020 I had my mind made up to get the F450 for the tires and turning ratio, but after studying the Ford propaganda discovered the F350 actually has a higher "legal" pin weight than the F450 and the F450 didn't have tire pressure monitoring. Maybe I made a mistake but I haven't regretted it and the F350 handles my 18k 5th wheel great and I haven't run into a situation where turning radius has been a problem.

I would rather have the detuned engine. I use my truck to make money and thats it. I dont associate it with my personality. I dont need a showing lifestyle choice. I wish they would focus more on reliability, cooling and braking than they do with torque numbers. Its the pony wars all over again

wow 230° trans temp is up there hopefully it has Amsoil or some really good high end synthetic ATF in it but overall the truck did pretty freaking good that's semi truck weight to be pulling in a pickup truck the 6.7 is a monster!!! I was wondering if you was going to use 4 low to help the transmission from slipping. I think I would be doing a pan drop and a filter change after that get some fresh really good ATF in her.

Your absolutely right about the detuned motors of the cab chassis of F550 and up. Smaller turbos and it makes just 330/850. That's a big difference from 500/1200 for the high output. Your right again, on most drivers will go foot to the floor, because if the power is there use it and most likely due to being on strict time limits and pay schedules. I drove class A vehicles for 25 years and did hot shoting for 8 years with a F-550 and 11k lb 38ft sliding axle trailer. Didn't mind the loss of power most times but going up mountainous highways was to be desired and most 18 wheelers hauling more weight pass me easy doing 65-70 mph up 5% grades. So Ford could have made more "detuned" reliable power not so much for speed but for consistency, lugging a weak motor isn't healthy either. Solution is to spec out the right vehicle and motor setup for what your hauling and where your hauling it. Can't assume a F-550 or 600 will haul 40k lbs consistently when you can get a F-700 or higher that can do that 40k lbs consistently with ease and has a buffer for extra weight or just keeping it in the sweet spot rather then being maxed out all the time. Class 4 trucks have no business doing class 6 and up duties. I always felt more safer and comfortable hauling 30k lbs in a class 7 truck then a class 4 truck (F-550). These vehicles have really seen an uprising of entrepreneurial truck drivers looking to hotshot on the smaller load market. Obviously making fleet hauling companies pissed off and some drivers upset of not getting the easier lighter loads that still pay decent. Hotshots do it by virtually eliminating the pork of bigger fleet companies and under cutting their transport prices. In my opinion I only have issues with the fly by night drivers with some extra cash who just look at a KZfaq video and read some articles and think they can just buy a truck set up get a CDL license and make mega money doing the aforementioned. They are mostly obtuse and woefully inept and make honest pure breed truckers look bad. In this industry like many you're either born to do it or you most likely won't last or you'll be left without your sanity by the time you retire, quit, or get fired. Thanks for the input, Stay safe driver 🤙🏽🇺🇲

That's how a real trucker runs his truck...as easy as possible most of the time to keep the temps and fuel consumption down. Cowboys and Billy Bobs think it's a race to the top of the hill and a peepee measuring contest.

I bought a 2017 f250 and deleted it before 5k miles. I’ve now got 275k miles and still have not had a single thing break down or leave me stranded. I’ve been up on maintenance though. Never changed tranny fluid. Have changed the ccv serval times. Change oil and fuel filters 5-7.5k miles. Summary: they are great reliable trucks if you break the law and delete all that bullshit Fuck the epa and governments for pushing this corrupt shit on people. They don’t care about the environment either, they care about kick backs and bribes they get period

No doubt that the truck would pull it, but AT THE VERY LEAST the trailer NEEDS more axles to even consider that load. There’s a reason Semi trucks have at least tandem rear axles with usually more than just tandem trailer axles.

Just a matter of time before he kills himself going down a grade. If hauling heavier is what you like doing go buy a used Freightliner and do it the right way. Trucking is dangerous enough without making poor choices. Keep the wheels down be safer!

I bought two trucks for my Business and F450 and a 550 the worst trucks ever. The gas tanks peel'd off and destroyed the engines. First time I brought it to the dealer. I had to go through insurance. Which was $25000 to repair and my insurance went up. It happened over and over again. They replaced it the second time. With the same crap they were twenty thirteen Fords Worst trucks ever. Also had Fords in the past with suspension problems. Does anybody out there understand what I am going through

I mean the dump trucks literally weight is probably around 23k that’s if the box is a AR400 demo box, they look really BIG because it’s 3ft off the ground towering over a pick up so the size difference makes it a cool looking load kind of resembling a heavy haul truck hauling a Rigid CAT Rock Truck it has the same size difference when coming at you lol… I don’t know why I don’t see guys locking up the trailer brakes TIP I’m sure you know this trick but in case others are reading comments, it amazed me that more people don’t practice this instead of putting all those negative forces back and forth when loading pickups- TIP- When you’re unloaded or loading the gooseneck find a way to lock the spring loaded HYDRAULIC trailer brake service pressure SWITCH pushing that spring loaded switch all the way over to its maximum gain and finding something to hold that switch applied with while you’re loading (I have the gray spring loaded clamp from Harbor Freight that hold the switch closed) it works perfectly! Anyways that’ll keep those trailer brakes locked up while you’re loading your trailer, I HATE watching guys load these things rocking the truck back and forth causing all that unnecessary wear and tear against parts, plus when the trailer is nice and solid it gives you a better sense of comfort loading on a surface that doesn’t feel like you’re pulling on to a roller skate or something. Also by chance the back of your pick up gets “picked up” you won’t be going for one of those hole puckering rides down the street like you’re on a roller skate. As long as your trailer brakes work and adjusted properly you can count on them to hold the load to the road, if you’re questioning the adjustment just turn the trailer brake gain adjustment up to 10 while loading to just be sure. I also have a pipe that’s measured and fits perfectly between my seat and the brake pedal, even with the truck brakes applied the trailer brakes work off inertia mixed with electrical so you still need to lock the trailer brake switch manually closed or turn the gain all the way up to have them be totally locked if the pedal is applied it just allows the brakes to start working they don’t increase pressure until the interia begins to push back against the trailer which increases the trailers breaking since you’re loading and not pushing a constant force against the interia switch it will not apply anymore pressure then bare minimum so it’s best to turn up the gain and lock up the spring loaded switch, unless I’m on a hill and really needing the xtra braking on the truck I usually don’t bother with the truck brake pedal just throw my clamp on the trailer brakes and that’s perfect. Using the pipe I’m totally locked up all around, with manually trailer too, if you start pushing around the trailer and sliding the truck around during loading at that point you’ve got some bigger problems and best not be hauling anything haha..
