An Izumo with the word Hyperweapon plastered all over it. A year ago this would have been a joke, but things have been a little different for a while now. Also, Hyperweapon's the name of the player sailing it, so he probably wouldn't have seen the funny side anyway.

Fyi it's Akizuki, named after the destroyer Akizuki and quite frankly there is no ship named Akazuki (not to be mistaken with Akatsuki).

You always get a penetration ribbon plus a citadel ribbon for scoreing a citadelhit. So it was 6 penetrations, 4 of which were citadels :)

When the game started back in the day, citadels were treated separately from normal hits. I think WG fiddled with it a bit. May be old code left over? Dunno, but its different now for sure

you don't get penetration ribbon when the round hit the water but still has the force to penetrate the armor. I remember doing 4k damage to a ship when the ribbon showed i only got one over pen.

This must have literally changed last patch for me to be wrong, but citadels count _separately_ from the regular penetration ribbon. What happened here was more likely a double-pen bug of some kind.

Grinding through the Izumo used to be a rite of passage for those that yearned for Hotel Yamato. Every Yammy player used to be in a brotherhood of players that suffered the insufferable Izumo to the very end (or chickened out and free xp'ed it)

Yeah but also sometimes you get only citadel ribbons and no penetration marks, although it could be those are through belt and not torpedo bulge pens to citadels

I love the Izumo, once won alone vs 2 tier 9's and a tier 10, in cose combat with all of them, came out with barely any health, but did have alot of bounces....and yeah, there was alot og turning and angeling....loved it...

Victor Yau well I can promise you this, the guns won't always behave this well, however I found its mobility combined with its weird armour flaws to be its biggest issue its definitely not as agile as Amagi

I hope WG puts an RNG roll into the Commander Jingles voice audio. For example, some% chance that he says "Torpedoes to port" when they are to starboard, "Fire" when taking a torpedo that causes flooding, "We're about to win" when down by 500 points, and announcing the wrong ship class sunk.

I suspect the 4 citadel / 6 hit shot was a case of one of the penetrations being against the torpedo bulge, which then went on to penetrate the belt for a citadel.

Having played the entire IJN bb line back when only US and JPN were the only nations in game, I'm somewhat happy WG decided to buff not just the Izumo, but the Nagato as well (the stock configuration, at least).

When I first started playing, I went down the IJN line, and I started after the buffs started I believe but I can tell you, I was worried about getting to the Izumo. I am at the Nagato now.

The izumo. The fact that there are no rear gun turrets just makes it Way easier to pen it with he bombs. And substantionally easier to get ap bomb cits.

I played _Izumo_ before some of the major buffs, and I thought she worked well. The weren't unreliable at all, and it's probably just the fewer guns compared to _Amagi_ that throws people off. Also, while you can't shoot straight back, the middle turret can shoot _almost_ straight back. And if you face enemies that don't shoot HE, you're going to tank a ton.
