The root lock is considered the most important of the three body locks in developing core strength and sensitivity to effect transformation on a deep, cellular level by raising the body's vibration and energy. Body locks are fundamental components of most yoga postures or asanas.
The root lock, also known as the moola (aka mula) bandha, is one of three body locks which are fundamental elements of a proper yoga practice. The others are the navel lock (uddiyana bandha) and the neck lock (jalandhar bandha).
