The main issue in trying to create a KZfaq competitor is paying for the storage of the videos as well as paying for the bandwidth to serve those videos. It would be an enormous expense, and if you charge your creators for it, well, than it's not truly a KZfaq alternative. There doesn't exist a good solution to that issue that I know of. @@wolfgamer4388 I don't know those folks, but I'm unsure if any single person (who isn't Bezos, Gates, etc) could fund such a thing without significant corporate backing. Videos are large (large enough that the axiom that storage is essentially free doesn't hold) and serving them to any share of the internet's bandwidth comparable to KZfaq's is prohibitively expensive. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it done, but I just don't see it being feasible without the same beholden-to-your-investors issue that brought modern KZfaq into being. KZfaq came to be in a unique time for the internet and I just don't see it happening again. I'd like it, but I don't see it without the same problems KZfaq has.

Also we will be cracking down harder on vulgarity, hazardous, and content parents would find remotely questionable. This way our younger viewer base can enjoy the same content in a great family friendly way. it's was still reasonably easy to see when something was disliked on youtube in the same way you could tell with twitter, ratios. At minimum a video that is popular should have about 10%+ likes out of views if it is higher then people really like it (see this video) if it is much lower then people probably aren't too bothered about it or possibly hate it. Ghostbusters 2016 trailer had 0.7% like to view percentage so you could easily see such things. On twitter it's just called getting ratio'd when you have a lot more comments than likes.
@tinomorgenstern34302 жыл бұрын

Heh, this has now been recommended to me as I searched KZfaq to find ways to stop getting the product recommendations in videos. All I could find is that you can manually Dismiss each pop-up, but that's extremly annoying. I even have Premium to stop ads, and now the creator can just bombard viewers with links to products 😣
