As much as I would hate seeing Podz gone, Lauri would elevate this team… so I’m in

I’m not trading any young talented assets for an expiring contract, especially somebody as injury prone as LM Jonathan Kuminga’s trajectory is better than LM’s after 3 years. Plus, he has played in more playoff games and has a championship ring. That means he has more playoff experience A lot more ALREADY. Markennen has none. Why sign him if he can walk next year for nothing ? There’s no guarantee that he would make the warriors any better.
@Hollie.415

The whole point is that Lauri’s representation would tell the Warriors he’s willing to sign before you trade assets to get him Using the reasoning “it’s no guarantee that trade makes them better” as an excuse to not make a move when your team is clearly flawed and lacking talent is exactly how you end up wasting another year of Steph’s window. No trade is guaranteed to make you better. Every trade is a risk. In order to improve your team you have to take risks. You know what else isn’t guaranteed? 21 year old kids taking a big enough leap to all of a sudden transform this team into a title contender. What’s more likely though? A player that’s a proving all star making this team better, or 21 year olds who haven’t proved anything in a playoff setting, all of a sudden taking a monstrous leap that’s significant enough to help a 36 year old Steph win a championship? The Warriors have a 0% chance of winning a title as currently constructed. Their 2nd best player is 34 year old Draymond Green who can’t be relied on to even be available. This team ain’t good enough. I pointed out in this video the multiple ways Lauri improves this team’s weaknesses. If you want to gamble one of Steph’s last few years of his prime on 21 year olds taking a leap that isn’t guaranteed, you can do that. But I want to maximize this window with Steph while he’s here, because the moment he retires, it doesn’t matter what young player we have, we won’t be winning anything for a while. It’s hard to win championships bro. The last time the Warriors won a chip before Steph was 1975, before that, 1956… Steph is the Micheal Jordan of our franchise, yall would rather prioritize young players over doing whatever is necessary to give this man a shot at 1 more? Cmon man what are we doing here? If you make this trade and it doesn’t work out then SO BE IT! At least you went out TRYING. I can make peace with that. But to use the excuse of “well it’s no guarantee” is insane to me. The Warriors trading for Andrew Wiggins, who many at the time said was a terrible move, and that Wiggins was the worst contract in the league. That same move that “wasn’t guarantee” to improve the team, is the reason they won the 22’ title. Would you consider that a gamble? Yes, because every trade is a gamble. Now imagine if they applied your mentality of not making a move because it doesn’t promise you a chip back when they took the chance on Wiggins…

Buddy, I would send Wiggins, GP2 & Moody + picks. Podz looks like he is about to evolve into an even better player, the summer league has shown us, that man is hungry.

Wiggins is a negative asset for Utah they don’t want him nor do they have use for him. They’re a rebuilding team. Why would they want a 30 year old vet making 27mil a year that’s inconsistent? All he’s going to do is block playing time for their young players they’re trying to develop. Either Podz or Jk is included, or there’s no deal. The other team has to like the trade your proposing. You can’t be stingy with assets when you’re the team trading for the all star. We either propose a real offer or we don’t get Lauri it’s simple.

Solid commentary bro. Love your down to earth analysis. Podz would be a tough pill to swallow, but I get it. Having that big who can shoot like Markkenen is a huge win. If it doesn't go down, I am happy with the trades and where GSW stands. Don't give up the farm.

I appreciate that bro! I really like Podz, I really really don’t want to trade him, I think he’s going to be one hell of a player, but unfortunately I don’t see a way for the Warriors to bring in a difference maker without giving up either him or JK.

The Jazz proposition seems excessive...now compare: - Steph, Podz, Kuminga, Wiggins, Draymond Lacks size and all the perimeter offense goes through Steph, that may get exhausted over yet another such season...unless they bench Podz and play Hield, which is the point here - Steph, Melton, Wiggins, Draymond, Makkanen Still no true Center, but more size and a second solid perimeter threat and I still like the bench, with Hield, GP2, Anderson, TJD, Looney... Now, GSW front office should negotiate for a better deal or look for alternative trades

i really hope moody finds some serious minutes it’s so frustrating. also i genuinely think buddy is already just as valuable as klay if not better because of his playmaking and shot selection
@Hollie.415
@Hollie.415 21 сағат бұрын
I won’t go as far as saying more valuable, but I think he’s going to thrive in our system playing off Steph, also his acceptance of a bench role by itself is valuable. It was a report saying Klay thought he was just as good of a player as before his injuries. So he never would’ve truly been accepting of a reduced role with GS. If Buddy isn’t playing well you can bench him with no pushback

idk if i’m really that high on lauri i think he’s a top 35-40 player so i think he’s def not overrated or anything but i do think that it would be a huge over pay. i think podz potential contract is valuable longterm whereas we can’t pay both lauri and kuminga. to give up podz moody and all that draft capital for a guy who’s just alright defensively and ok as a playmaker feels like a huge over pay. he’s just been able to put up a lot of shots on a bad team (i usually don’t like that argument but it’s only been a couple years since his break out) and his durability has not been great. we also haven’t seen him in a playoff setting so who even knows how well he will translate

Ainge wants all the Warriors young talent. Ainge’ll flip Kuminga and Moody into more assets. Podz is like Jeff Hornacek - a former crafty combo guard who played for the Jazz. I expect 2 of Podz, Kuminga, Moody will be needed. Plus future picks.
