Actually hemp has been in use since the Roman times. It is more of a forgotten material than a new material. The chemical companies were and are not to control it so they had it banned back in the 1930's in the U.s.a . Heck even Henery Fird used Hemp in one of his car models .

Omgosh-so inforamtive. I hv mathphobia and my brain shuts down when i hv to figure that stuff. But no one has ever taught me how to use a tape measure. You did it so clearly AND easily! You really helped me with something so important that another person might feel is stupid that i already didnt get it. So i appreciate so so much u taking the time to make this video. And i also love that it was taught by a woman. It made me feel like u might hv struggled in this area too and it helped me realize I CAN DO THIS! 🎉

we love hearing this! Yes, we have honed our teaching methods over many years of teaching basic carpentry workshops here at Wild Abundance. I hope you get to join us for a class sometime--we also teach tiny house building and will be opening up registration soon: www.wildabundance.net/in-person-classes/

Oh you don't have to camp, it's free though if you bring a tent-- there are also rentable tents we set up for people with bedding included... (not "glamping" level but large and comfy) ALSO of course lots of students opt to share Airbnb's or stay in a bed and breakfast 8 min down the road...

Hi thanks for your video! It looks like the bucket you used was galvanized possibly? Is there any concern for it imparting zinc etc into the buckskin or fur when using it for smoking? I am used to smoking my hides with a pit but live in a rental so bucket seems to be the best option currently. Thanks so much!

Yeah, cool. Thanks for sharing. I'm living on a hillside in Canada and after seeing what was possible in Sichuan, I want to do some terracing here so thanks for your helpful tips on this most under reported topic. This should be the topic of many PHD students and something road construction crews are famliar with so they can diversify the use of their earth moving machinery

The outdoor shower is heated with a propane water heater (on demand)... it's worked great for us for many years. Nothing like showering in this rustic outdoor shower, it's cozy and refreshing all at once.

I may build soon, but hemp is off my list due to cost. There's a long way to go on that. The labor is similar to some other good materials, seems to me, so I don't see us moving to it for that, either. Not yet.

Yeah, it might be more expensive, but not as expensive as treatment for being poisoned by mold in a stick built house.
@tracy419
@tracy419 3 ай бұрын
That's only relevant if you can afford the increased up front costs🤷 And you only have to worry about mold in poorly built and maintained stick built homes. Your comment comes across as saying either pay the higher up front costs, or get sick 😄 Having said that, I'd love to build a hempcrete house. Just gotta be able to afford it one day.
