Guys you are missing the most obvious. She was there to defend the castle. Fighting the King and Vhagar was an added bonus. She didn't leave whens she could have because she needed to confirm if the ground threat to the castle was neutralized. If you notice, when she flies over the battlefield for the last time, she is looking at the ground. This is to confirm the castle is safe and the ground troops are no longer a threat. She was leaving after that but Vhagar came out of nowhere.

Already the second time I've howled at the TV this season. First was Cole telling the King he was asleep when his son got murdered 🤣 and now when Aemond cremated his brother in front of thousands of witnesses 😂😂😂😂😂. I want to enjoy the show so I'm choosing to believe that the writers want these characters to be dumb as these types of wars are typically led and flamed by fools. Great reaction per usual. Almost there. The page ripped from the book is absolutely significant. It's a page from a story about a Queen of had to flee her homeland, did what she had to do to save her people. She was a warrior Queen, and she married correctly and made the right allies. And she did save her people. It's Rhaenera and Arya's favorite story. That Queen was Dornish and hundreds of years later, Dorne is still ruled by a woman. When Alicent gave her that page it was a reminder of what Rhaenera said. "She didn't care if her father had a son and she's no longer his favorite." And it was saying "You should run and save yourself and your people. Start over, somewhere else."

I think they are putting in more money to try and fix their reputation by basically re-shooting it by bringing in more quality. Although reshooting isn’t a good sign but I think its their desperate attempt to get the people into the mcu again

Guys, they have a problem with how the show executed Rhaenys death bc so far how they portrayed rhaenys in the show is way different than how GRRM portrayed rhaenys in the books. Like as someone who also read the books, I can agree that It didn’t make sense for Rhaenys to go out the way she went out. In the books, she had no choice but in the show, she did so it’s more of the show direction issue so I believe they’re valid for feeling like that. I didn’t like how she went out either. I can respect it but I didn’t like it because I personally wanted more Rhaenys in the show and I feel like we didn’t get to spend more time with rhaenys. We all know that since this show relies on the foundation of the book (which have unreliable narrators), there are going to be some tough pills to swallow such as faulty directions from the show & writers, slight deviations from the books, etc but to jump down their throats bc they feel disappointed with how the writers handled rhaenys and attempting to dismiss them & be condescending bc “yOu dO kNoW tHiS hApPeNeD iN tHe BoOkS rIgHt ..lol you guys know nothing” is the reason why many fans, especially them, can’t stand us book readers.

To me what aemond did was reckless. What if aegon had made it out of the way and why kill Sunfyre with him. He could get aegon alone and kill him and still have have Sunfyre healthy and able to fight. Aegon is useless but his dragon. That was too personal Aemond needs to remember a war is going on and even Vhagar can't do it alone.

If they sent Vermithor AND Meleys, Vhagar would be past tense.

The small council has no interest in the dead king’s wishes or last words. They crowned King Aegon because they don’t want a ruling Queen. The show misleads the viewers that Alicent could have stopped Aegon from being crowned king.

FYI in the books, Rhaenys/Meleys was holding it DOWN 1 v 2 at the same damn time. She almost killed Sunfyre and was holding off Vhagar while they tried to jump her; she was the only dragon that was specifically mentioned to have a chance at 1 vs 1ing Vhagar in the right circumstance. The book also made it clear that she was a G and refused to escape because she was willing to risk her life to end the war right now and then at Rook's Rest, and she -almost- did. Just as she was -almost- queen; her life had a lot of -almost- moments and its super poetic and bittersweet. But she went out in fire and blood; long live the Queen That Should Have Been

Rhaenys couldnt leave. Her task was to protect the castle. Amemon would destroyed the castle had she left. Plus beating amemon would end the war. But she overestimate her abilites. Damemon said 2 dragon are needed to beat vaghar so she was cooked from the beginning.

Rhaenys I guess tried to end the single greatest threat to Rhaenyra's campaign: Aemond and Vhagar. If she and Meleys could kill them, the true queen's campaign would be that much easier. That doesn't mean it was a good idea. Vhagar is the most battle seasoned dragon in the show and was at least twice the size of Meleys and could withstand more damage and deal more damage. Even though Rhaenys was the more experienced rider, Vhagar was the one that truly had the advantage. She died courageously...it just wasn't the right decision.

One thing about the GOT world….never get attached to a character

It would be better if they tell us clearly what Rhaenys' motivations might be but I personally think she wanted to die, she was looking at Corlys' bastard son and touching his face and telling Corlys to raise him up and stop hiding him, probably missing her own kids and thinking about her son Laenor. Last episode she was talking to Corlys about how her kids are gone and he should make Baela or Rhaena the heirs to Driftmark, he refused by saying they know nothing of the tides. So when she said you should raise your bastard son up, since he knows about the tides, I think she was giving him the OK to legitimise his bastard son and make him heir but she knows he wont do that unless she's gone.

If Vhagar snuck up behind her and killed her while she was fighting Aegon that would've been a better death. The fact that she went back in twice to fight Vhagar doesn't fit her character whatsoever. If you keep her character consistent, she would have fled right after Aegon hit the ground.

9:25 Larys said in s2 ep 1 that he got rid of all rhaenyra's people. Knowing how thorough he is, that probably means everyone who was ever close to her. So these are probably different nuns who likely were brought in some time after Rhaenyra's departure to Dragonstone in s1 to practice faith of the seven. I still would've enjoyed more shots of nuns passing or maybe someone staring at them but I do get how they would've been pointless since there was never any plans for her to get caught. But what it would've done, is shown that since Larys is in control of all the servants, if one is watching, then so is he.

She had to die there because thats what happens in the books but the way they made her spin back twice was dumb af, this show like GOT later seasons suffers from lazy writing and bad directing at times.

I think the show portrayed Rhaenys being ridiculed for not killing the greens on purpose. Almost every episode it had someone bringing it up, too the point where in this episode she is again faced with that same situation “she has a chance too kill both riders and dragons which can end this war” I think that pressure eventually led her too make that decision too fight. Just my thoughts. 😢rip the queen that never was 😭

The way rhaenys was moving it was obvious where it was going. I was screaming at the tv "OK GO HOME NOW, VHAEGAR IS COMING RHAENYS GET OUT OF THERE NOW, RHAENYS YOU GOT GRANDKIDS THAT NEED YOU!!!! man The writing wasnt where it was at with this one. We needed more of rhaenys.

Look I’ve been watching this channel for a looong time, but these takes are trash. Y’all talk over important dialogue and then question what’s going on when it’s already been told to the viewer. Though I’m a book reader myself but the thing about the fire and blood book is they leave it vague. Like all we know about her dying is that “she died” the show could have done much better showing us how. So I will agree with you on that. Though they didn’t kill her off just for shock value. It was meant to happen that way no matter what. Also I see that the book readers have “ruined” the show for you. Screw the book readers. Yes the show is for all fans but the show is also for people that don’t have time to read or lack the patience to read but want a good story to watch every weekend. Could be better but I still think it’s solid personally. Don’t let them bully you. Just keep it 100 if your opinion and I’ll still keep coming back to watch you. It’s why I watch your channel. Even if I disagree with you I still know your putting passion into whatever you’re saying.
