I used to watch this video when you first released it, before I knew anything about the fundamentals of landing. It's amazing looking at this video how far dcs has come. I still refer to your video for nostalgia. Thanks for keeping it alive!

Love this video...helped enormously when I was learning the 'hog a few years ago. Now with the development of the Hornet, it seems a lot of people are unaware of this point...and as far as I can tell, the Hornet pod can't do this yet.

I actually expected the UH-1H to be a bit easier than BlackShark2, but also expected a little more shimmy of body parts on radical stress to the frame. Neither true as of yet. I've got a good *handle, so to speak, on helicopter flight dynamics EXCEPT the bouncing that sets in while trying to fly and fire weapons. I'm thinking I've just got way too much collective cranked up, and ALSO think that proper trim will make a huge difference. I'm fighting to keep the nose down to accommodate the cockpit weapons, therefore the bouncing I guess.

@Headspace I really love watching your video and the sound of your voice. But I feel like you are coming in to close on your bombing runs and that is not realistic in the Flight Sim community. I hope in the future your videos with bomb runs will be fixed to make this more enjoyable.

We have all seen Helicopters come straight down from a hover great heights - 40-60 feet, or more. Where is the Vortex Ring State in these cases ?

I love how the dirt and smoke look together in the later explosions, the heavy dirt falls away and the white smoke rises through... now I'm itching to play

The first bomb effects don't seem quite 'there', I think the fire balls the fly up don't really hit give a realistic effect. The others looks terrific though, especially how they drift away with the wind. All in all, very nice!

I don't think they've changed the Mk82 explosion effect, but the drag kit on the Snakeyes are reasonably new. It used to be we only had the ballute-equipped Mk82s; now we have both, which is cool.

Sorry for the late reply to this. I had to put the project into a deep freeze to focus on studying for my doctorate. There's an application called SimpleRadio that the community seems to find useful, and it does what TARS did. I would look that up.

Hit "escape", go into "Adjust Controls" and you can see where the keys are bound to.

Hey I don't know if you're a helicopter pilot, but as a low hour (300hrs) pilot, I really think you have a great grasp of flying! Congrats and thanks for the great tutorial.

Not a helicopter pilot. Right now my ratings are strictly SEL (fixed wing). It's reasonably straightforward to learn the principles of how a helicopter flies, though.

You will be gratified to know this video (even 6 years later) is one of the best I've ever seen. Lot's of people make instruction vids, but don't tell you what they're doing or do not explain WTF is going on. This is one of the best & most helpful I've seen yet.

Landing it is the hardest this to do with this mod. had it 2 weeks and I crash a lot do to VRS. got to get more practice period

Based on your other video explaining the guided bomb drops using the TGP there is a bit of a difference where you showed using mark points to target with and without laser. I am going to assume that it wouldn't hurt to designate mark points using TGP with lase on to do this. Great video btw I learn from them 10X faster than trying to use the manual. Thank you!

Was wondering if one of you guys in the DCS World community could do a video of long range gun usage and long range rocket usage, just to show everyone there is no need to get too close with these shots. I was under the impression that rockets can and should be fired from long range and are quite accurate. Firing them, using the arc trajectory to "Lob" Rockets on the target. I'd really appreciate it... and anyone using the 14000ft reticule. Noticed there wasn't any training materials regarding a long bomb shot. thanks. Pinburst

I love the A-10C but I have a horrible time finding ground targets even when i know were they are. Is there a best graphics setting to get the vehicles to stand out a little? I don't want to use labels i feel it's cheating.1

There is no realistic FLIR simulation at the moment. BHOT and WHOT modes are just color filters, so they are useless when target color is close to ground texture color.

TheSpinyMouse Yeah most of the time sometimes it helps but nowhere near where it should be indeed so all that really helps is large model size or enable the f10 map with enemies

Exactly! But somehow, in the past, even with color filtering mode you were able to see target vehicles much easier and distinguish them from the surrounding, but now it became impossible after the last patches. Instead of making it better, they were genius enough to make it worse than it was.

i got a little confused in the section where you created the flight plan.. was realy realy quick and not that good of explanation.. but it was okay, watch it more then 3-4 times and then i got it :D

i dont get the message that the target is destroyed.. after the enemy is ead the jtac is jst gone from the radio list.. it is still alive on the map but i cant contact him anymore..
