Great review. I have one and it's incrediable. I'm making some simaliar to it now. Love to see a video on how to make the octogon roof it has. Next one I make will be similar to your octogon blind video to avoid the 360 roof system and door. I will use the 360 sliding windows and 4 corner pockets design. Wasn't able to find any polywood to make the window slides and the vinyl lattice channel was to flimpsy. Used PVC board instead. Primed it with PVC cleaner before painting so the paint would stick.
@UncleBucks12 күн бұрын
Good to hear someone else's opinion on this blind! Yeah, its a pretty intricate roof design. Seems like a lot of pieces, angles and cuts to try and diy a roof that way. I thought about the lattice channel probably working better if it were installed in a wood frame with aroutered groove v.s. stand-alone, but I think you're onto something with the pvc board! Gives me an idea for another video... Thanks for watching and commenting!

If you're wondering what caused the scuff marks on the side of the blind... the skidsteer pallet fork frame rubbed against it while it was being transported across the field.

Are you sure your battery is good and that the chain isn't jammed up with debris around the sprocket or chain wedged up somehow? Maybe try it with the bar off and see if it works, then you've got it nailed down to the bar and chain being the issue.

probably was a puncture from another bull fighting during the rut, but you never know I guess. Found a number with similar punctures that sometimes go all the way through or crack the back side. Sometimes they even break their paddle right off in battle. Good finds!!

Someone else theorized that it might be a tine puncture as well. It's just so small and clean on the entry side... I'm not convinced. I've got several with punctures, but none punched quite like this. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Man, you're living in a different world up there! It's crazy to think lakes freeze deep enough to drive a truck across them pulling a fish house. I always enjoy your content, and it was neat seeing some of your old fishing pictures. Maybe, you can do a video one day catching some fish from the fishing/ice shack.

Thank you... again! I sure appreciate your continued support of my channel!! We actually have some videos on KZfaq of ice fishing in the shack. My boy has a fishing channel "Moravitz Fishing" but most videos are from a number of years ago. He kind of lost interest in making videos, but may start uploading new ones again. I think some of the fishing videos were pretty good! Here's one of them... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ntx-ZdJhr9zLmKc.htmlsi=MUcPvRMLGyBk2W2c

Great video explaining everything. What I'm thinking about is a platform with stairs then affix a plastic 6' pentagon shaped plastic blind on top of it. I'm kinda trying to strike a balance between store bought and home brew. I have access to a large amount of "scrap" wood and possibly some telephone poles. I need to be at least 6' off the ground in my situation. So I'm just watching KZfaq videos for inspiration before I start the project

A heavy wolf population usually equates to a low population of all other game species. At least it seems to be the theme from all the wolf country YT channels that i subscribe to. It sounds like Minnesota's deer population has gotten annihilated by wolves over the past few years
@UncleBucksАй бұрын
You got that right!! There is definitely also a decline in moose where I shed hunt in Northern MN. 4 years ago I left a trail camera out for a whole year. Lots of moose pics and lots of wolf pics. Did the same thing again last year, hardly any moose or wolf pics. The unmanaged wolf population is the worst thing ever for moose and deer. Poor legislation made for way too long by clueless, wolf-loving idiots.

I'm building my first 6'x8' blind right now for the 2024 season, been hunting out of a 4'x6' for years and can't wait to get into it this fall. I also have 6 tree stands 15',16' and 22', had an accident at work last year and broke my back, doctor told me another fall would probably kill me. I'm about 85% recovered, walking very good and won't climb another ladder again. Ignore the naysayers, most of them have never taken their kids or wives with them on a hunt, box blinds rule for teaching fidgety kids and newbies to hunt. Now that I'm older I'm appreciating the warmth they provide in subzero weather, {I've always used them when the weather turns bad during hunting season}. Many a day I've sat in my little 4'x6' with the Little Buddy heater going in comfort when it was 25 below zero.

A "deer blind" is not a hunter's tool. It's an ambush position where you set out salt blocks to coax the little criiers in for harvesting. Hunters use their boots and tracking skills.

definitely a drunk poacher pot shot such an issues up here

I had a feeling that poaching might be a big contributing part to why the moose population is so low there now. Lots of those newer cuts are easy for poachers and slob hunters to access with vehicles right now.

my shoots out oil like it’s taking a pee, I used it today for maybe 90 seconds total and it used 1/2 the container of oil
@UncleBucksАй бұрын
Serious answer here... just quit using oil. It'll last a long time without oil, if you don't use the saw every day. Worst case scenario is you'd have to replace the bar and chain in a year or two but you don't have to deal with the mess. I haven't put oil in mine for almost two years, but I don't use it real often. Still haven't needed to replace the bar or chain.

At about the 6:50 mark you cut the trunk of a pine tree and a 5/6, both cuts performed horizontally about waist high. When I try cutting branches as low as my waist or lower my DeWalt turns off as I'm holding the button down. If I raise it to cut something where my arms extend at least chest high it works again. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
@UncleBucks2 ай бұрын
There must be a connection issue with your saw. Possible where the poles connect together. It should work no matter how you hold it. Other than that, there must be a defect of some kind if you are sure that your battery is good.

@UncleBucks3 ай бұрын
Thanks! No special trick. I've had a 100% success rate with this method, but this is 1/4" thick sheeting, not 1/8". It's probably safe to say that the closer you get to the edge of your plexiglass with the holes, the more likely it is to crack.
