"Zelda fans are going to take what they can get, and that's kinda the problem" this is too true and why we ended up waiting 6 years for $70 DLC

The restrictive nature of Nintendo Lego sets reflects the restrictive way Nintendo treats its properties in general. They have this you will enjoy this the way we want, peasant, and thank us for it, attitude about their IP.

You definitely get the feeling he wants to slag off the set more, but still wants to be invited to Lego events and so has to simper a bit and try to not offend..

Yeah, I agree. The set is very cool but at 300 it's just not something I can afford, especially as a broader Nintendo fan expecting a new system sometime soon-ish for which I'll have to save up. I'm really hoping we'll see some more sets. That being said, I don't really buy the more expensive Lego. For a Zelda set I would consider spending maybe up to 150 but I guess that means I'm not exactly the restrictive target audience. But that's exactly the issue pointed out in the video.

Imagine being a gigantic fan of both lego and zelda. But barely having 100 bucks left at the end of the month. This is not a justifiable purchase even with some financial wiggle room

I was almost 2 years old when Jaws came out. It was the first movie I ever saw in a theater (but I don’t remember it) I only got to go to it because my dad wanted to hide beer in the diaper bag.

FTR, Spielberg recommended Chris Columbus for the Harry Potter films… and Columbus (wrote, gremlins, directed home alone, Mrs doubtfire, and the night at the museum movies) was a long time Spielberg protégé.

So upsetting Indiana Jones got shafted by Lego. At least Jaws is finally getting the treatment and maybe if we get a Close Encounters set the classic Spielberg collection will be complete.

9:14 that or the designers were nostalgic & used Dimensions to add those characters, that were not popular enough to get their own game or sets. maybe, that's part of why Dimensions failed

Loved this video! Honestly probably the best review we’re going to get of the _Jaws_ set - it looks like the kind of set where a more typical review is redundant, because we can see all we need to know about the build, display value, etc., just by looking at a couple good photos. But this was really informative and interesting. I knew about all of those sets, but not about some of Spielberg’s involvements in movies that don’t have his name on them. And even for the obvious ones I’d never realized just how much of TLG’s licensed sets tie back to Spielberg. Really interesting perspective.

@5:15 The plot of Jurassic Park III is that a pair of divorced parents hire Allen Grant to help them find their son, who got lost after a boating accident on Site B. While there, Grant discovers that InGen has continued to make new dinosaurs despite publicly saying they had stopped following the events of the Lost World.

Steven Brickberg or Steven Spielbrick?
@natbarmore
@natbarmore Күн бұрын
Well, “Spielberg” is German, meaning “play mountain”. In German they typically refer to “Lego steine”, which is literally “Lego stones”, rather than “Lego bricks”. Mountains are made of stone. So I think there’s already a solid connection between “play mountain” and “Lego stones”, without needing to change his name. 😉

This millenium falcon certainly looks better than the regular one. If canon is not your thing, I can see people being interested in this. Also, those minifigures look like fun departures from regular main line star wars. I still wouldn't buy it, but I think this is at least an original deviation from all the bland sets that have graced us over the years.

If LEGO want to carry on making large builds from LOTR, they need to build sets to fall at most within 100-150$ range. Micro or Mini scale builds of larger things with some minifigs for display, just like the new smaller Star Wars ships under $100. No one has the display space for both Rivendell or Barad-Dur, let alone the near $1,000 to have both chunks of plastic. I want sets to display on my desk, or on a bookcase or on a shelf in my room, something at a scale suitable for display and doesn't command an entire dedicated plinth in my home. Had the current sets been under $150 each, and knowing there's a third now, I'd have bought all 3. But as it stands, I've refused to buy any current $300/400+ LOTR sets

Price is one of the main reasons I want the Metroid license to go to Mega, if Nintendo has to choose. Another reason being Mega's micro action figure system would work better for Samus, being able to swap out her armor and beam types.

My max to spend on a Lego set is 300$ I really want the barad dur and rivendell and the others ucs sets from this theme that eventually will get released But spending this much money on just plastic it’s to damn crazy😭 I will wait for the play sets or those a little bit more expensive (max 300$) from these theme Even 300$ it’s to damn much For me It’s really need to be worthy to spend this money On my wishlist up to 200$ it’s the new great hall and the the burrow collectors edition The rest is under 130$ If people didn’t spend this much money on a set Lego would low down the damn prices
