The main problem with Dantes character from an analytical standpoint is that his actions and his characterization don't mesh. The Dante we see throughout the game wouldn't care enough to get mad at Vergil for executing Lillith and wouldn't risk his life for Kat. He's storyboarded to be the empathic counterpart to Vergils calculated utilitarism but he doesn't have a shred of empathy unless the story absolutely needs him to. Also his progression from distrusting people and distancing himself to being willing to believe in someone doesn't work because he does everything pretty much alone and Vergil betrays him anyways which undermines the message.

I think there's something absolutely no one that dislikes DmC gets right, DmC Dante shouldn't be DMC Dante, it's a reboot, you can either prefer one or the other but why not analyze them as separate characters? DmC Dante has a jackass attitude because of where he was born. Dante was sent into an orphan full of demons and was there for years, tell me what kind of attitude against the world would you have after all of that, it's just a way of protecting himself, and he also used to cope on sex as said by his dialogue with Vergil in Mission (i think) 18. As the game progresses Dante goes from just a plain jerk to someone who starts to actually care about the people around them and even stand for humanity which is also not easy to do in 20 missions, he's still an immature dude who barely has an actual advanced combat experience which is clear in how he swings Rebellion, he's a different Dante, he doesn't have to be the same as the original, after all it's a reboot which sadly never fully exploited even though it still had great ideas, IMO OG Dante is better, and still i really liked this version of Dante. Vergil's twist is not explained 100% but it has it's justification. There's 3 comics released before the game came out which explains how Vergil and Kat meet, basically Vergil was fighting with The Orders completely alone against the world he had good intentions, but in this comic it's stated that if he uses his DT even one more time, he would completely lose his humanity, he also needed to find Dante as a sort of contingency plan in case that happened, which it did. In the end, Dante defeated Vergil but was too late to save him, hell even the song that plays during the final battle says "for their eyes, kill me, spare me", which makes the Vergil's Downfall DLC even sadder because he's already too far gone. I could debate about Mundus and Sparda but this comment is already too long.

Although I agree with some of what you said I think you overlook conversations and scenes and label them as boring such as 43:25, the conversation isn’t really boring at all, it unravels a bit of Chloe as a character and why she isolates herself from so many people, this conversation shows how she feels about people like Joyce, her dad, max, and Rachel.

All your points are solid. However, I do disagree with what you say around 25:00 that going back and playing older MGS games gets harder. I mean, anyone can easily buy a second-hand PS3 or PS1, after all they sold in very high numbers and they're still around everywhere, for all intents and purposes they are definitely accessible platforms. It's not like we're talking about MSX or something like that.

Just completed the game for the first time (previously played it on premiere but didnt finish it) and personally for me I felt like this game was awesome, I had fun with it. However after watching about 20mins of your vid I can see why people dont like it that much, honestly I agree these things you mentioned from the start makes sense. I just dont try to view this game as much as first 2 games. I liked the pace of the game and didnt feel like there were too many cutscenes but its just maybe me I enjoyed the story, maybe you just dont feel it when u play yet another playthrough and you know all the stuff. I think now this game is probably ok to just play it finish it and just move on but for gamers like you probably first 2 games are better when you can have more fun in terms of better things in gameplay that u mentioned in ur vid.

Life is strange is one of my favourite games. I think the art style is really run and arty and the soundtrack is one of my favourites because of how calming and ambient it is. However I can identify the many flaws this game has. The rules of the time power change A LOT and it can defo become confusing and a little annoying on multiple playthroughs. There are also quite a few plotholes which just get more annoying the longer you think about it. Now hot take her but I think Chloe is not a badly written character. Yes she is a bad friend and yes she is self centred but by the end she realises the mistakes she made. The point that the game needs you to like chloe is a difficult one. On one hand yes sometimes they dedicate like half an episode to making you like chloe which becomes boring dialogue on second playthroughs. On the other hand I like to see it as chloe has changed a lot in the years max hasn’t seen her and I think of it as max trying to understand this new Chloe and try to help her care about the people closest to her. I have seen many simular characters like chloe who are bad best friends but become better before but idk why people hate Chloe when she isn’t really much different from other similar characters. In terms of the dialogue being cringe and bad and don’t think it’s entirely true. In 2013 teenagers spoke like how they do in the game. I understand times have changed and so has slang terms and lingo but the dialogue is actually painfully accurate to those times. Ive seen vids of some of my relatives who were teens at that time and they used similar language to them. Finally imma talk about the choices. People saying the choices dont matter I think are actually wrong. Just because it all culminates in the same 2 ways no matter what doesnt mean that the choices were pointless. At the end of the game Max is a different person than how she was at the start. She still lives with the memories of all that happened in the previous episodes. Thousands of people die in hospital beds every day but just because all their lives ended the same way doesnt mean that everything they did before is pointless. They all met different people, went different places and had unique memories only they had experienced. Yes they died the same way to the person next to them in hospital but their lives were different. The game is about the journey not the destination. The point of story games isnt just to get to the end but its to experience the world and characters along the way. This is just my thoughts on the game. I love the game and its chilled vibes but I can defo see its cons. Hello to anyone who is reading this. Im not trying to attack anyone im just sharing opinions about this game. Thank you for reading :)

No. It's not a mistake. It's flaws are a result of the vitriolic gatekeeping attitude of the extremist fans who gave d3a7h thr34ts to a small developer company, who in turn realized they're not wanted and had to give what they were told, and move on. Plus some of the questionable business decisions Capcom was making. Remember Remember Me? That's also another Capcom published indie dev company game that had development issues. DmC had long lost its chance since day one. Doesn't negate the actual faults of corporate choices AND the mindless hateful horde of fans who want to bring down anyone who simply wants to give the game a chance. Since their unhappiness is _such_ a priority to this day.
@misternolife201822 күн бұрын
The game's flaws are a result of either developer oversight or lack of understanding when it comes to game design and balance. I don't see how the fans had anything to do with that. I'm someone who gave this game a fair shake and it still has problems.

Dude DmC was the best version of the franchise, it actually has a story that makes sense. Even the best way to show why Virgil and Dante have the relationship they have. Shit 5 games in the original franchise and the story is like 80s cartoon, with absolutely no story that makes sense at all. Where DmC is more of an action movie or an adult Manga. People just bitch to bitch. I wish they would of continued is franchise over the boring road runner cartoon that we got that was 5.

5:12 The Psycho Mantis fight does NOT play like in the orignal at all. You are now allowed to go into FPV, and Mantis does not "hijack" it instantly, which means you can simply go prone, aim in FPV and hit him, while you're literally immune to most of his attacks. It's only when his HP falls below a certain threshold that he instantly hijacks your FPV so you can't do that anymore. Which means they ruined the fight by making it easier ON PURPOSE.

I honestly hate how everyone who reviews drakengard cant put themselves in the mindset of when ut was released, the gameplay always gets described as awful but compared to its contemperaries of the time its stark average very few standout action games existed at all, dmc1 only came out during this games development, god of war didnt exist yet, the only comperable game in style where dynasty warriors 2 and 3, and those are barebones as fuck, 4 was were that series really hit its stride
@misternolife20182 ай бұрын
I did compare it to Dynasty Warriors. Which still had more gameplay and character variety than Drakengard. If you watch my videos, I only make comparisons to games released by the time of the game. I never talk about games released afterwards in regards to criticism since that would be unfair.

I feel like, capcom told ninja theory to revamp the series and that they didnt care what they did, but to make it edgy/ Then I think ninja theory went hard and created something they were proud of, and took it personal when fans went what is this? Personally I think they shouldve stuck to their guns, but there was definitely antagonization on both sides. The end result is a game I feel like neither side was really happy with. It wasnt devil may cry enough to appease old fans, and those who were open to the new direction, felt like it was just a watered down version of the old games. Its sad really, I wouldve loved to see their original vision.

What blows me away is that Doom 3 has technology in it that has never been replicated or has never been topped. Real-Time Shadows are not used like they were in D3, and there are scenes that implement better than in any modern games. There's a zombie that comes out of a monster closet and he slowly moves out of the shadows in a way that I have never seen again. If Doom 3 had a better gore system and more realistic physics I think the game would hold up even better. I still prefer Trent Reznors sound effects he made for the Doom 3 E3 demo and it's great that we can still use them in a mod. Also the BFG has some nuances that actually make it extremely powerful. Each cell charge is like 400 damage, headshots double that, and the splash damage and tendrils do crazy damage as well.

I enjoyed Doom 3. Although, if given a choice of either Doom 3 or DOOM (2016), I would pick Doom (2016) due to the music and how much of a cathartic rush it is to play, especially on higher difficulties. This is gives it a minute edge over Doom 3 for me. It seems like Doom 3 and Doom (2016) are inverses of each other. Doom 3 requires you to be alert at all times and to be cautious in combat. DOOK (2016) requires you to never stay idle for more than a second, to be aggressive, never rely on one weapon, and be very aggressive yet smart.
