Why does the Aluber still resolve even if it is not on the field? I tried to explain this to another guy, but he kept arguing with me. What would be the best way to explain
@YamiElutКүн бұрын
@@EloffMusketeer the short answer is that cards being destroyed or removed is not the same as negating them (like the classic "MST doesnt negate" thing). The only cards that must stay on the field to properly resolve their effects are cards like field spells, and continuous spells/traps, unless the specific card says it NEEDS to be on field to resolve something properly (something like Vanquish Soul Razen's monster pop effect must stay on field at resolution in order to destroy monsters in the column, because if Razen is removed it is no longer in a column to pop monsters at when the effect resolves)

I really appreciate the explanation in these videos. It gives me insight on why certain cards are being played during chains or revealing alternatives depending game state. I know it's annoying to the content creator or sometimes the viewer to announce what each card does but reminding people what cards do helps memorize them since sometimes people read cards either don't understand them or just straight up don't read. It all helps understanding each cards purpose and not just straight away do the combo without an explanation like 97% of all these combo tutorial videos. In which case defeats the purpose of understanding a combo or the deck and how to fully utilize them.

Overall a good video but I do have a slight nitpick about the comment at 21:56. They can't really go back and forth passing priority all day. There's a strict set of rules on how priority is handled and I'll explain it here for those not in the know. There's 3 steps in exiting a phase where you have effects that you must resolve. You start at step 1 and every time a player passes you go to the next step. (The "opponent" in this case, means the non-turn player) Step 1: The gamestate is open. The turn player can activate or resolve any optional or mandatory effect or can pass priority. Step 2: The opponent can activate or resolve any optional or mandatory effect or can pass priority. Step 3: One of the following 3 depending who has mandatory effects to activate or resolve: >If only the turn player or both players have mandatory effect to activate or resolve the turn player is forced to activate or resolve an effect*. >If only the opponent has has a mandatory effect to activate or resolve then the opponent is forced to activate or resolve an effect*. >If neither player has a mandatory effect to activate or resolve the phase (and turn in this case) ends. (* = doesn't need to be a mandatory one, just needs to advance the game-state.) I've chosen to omit some irrelevant stuff regarding chaining/quick effects focusing only on when players are allowed to do stuff but for anything not mentioned you resolve it normally and when you return to an open game state you go back to step 1. Hope this helps.

... what I'm wondering is, in question 2, why the opponent wouldn't use the 2nd imperm on cartesia, stopping the summon of granguignol and preventing aluber's dodging of imperm?
@YamiElutАй бұрын
That would be a more correct play with two imperm but not what I am intending to show lol. You can consider the second imperm to be a single imperm that was chained to a greedy cartesia effect as well (cl1 aluber/lubellion/etc, cl2 cartesia after no opponent response initially, then cl3 imperm target aluber/lubellion/etc to call the bluff)

If mirrorjade is attached to your opponent’s xyz , does that count as him leaving the field therefore able to nuke the field?
@YamiElutАй бұрын
No, Mirrorjade being attached as xyz material will not trigger him. Even if he was detached from an opponent's xyz monster Mirrorjade will not trigger because it is not under its owner's control leaving the field. Xyz materials in general are not considered to be "on the field". In a similar way detaching Bystial Druiswurm from an xyz monster will not trigger Druiswurm in the graveyard

In the last one you can also active mirrorjade again, to banish the little knight for good, also if your opponent removes that mirrorjade, can still trigger its raigeki effect
@YamiElutАй бұрын
This is correct and I'll add on just in case anyone is curious reading this: S:P Little Knight's effect does not banish the targets to then resummon them back on endphase. What it does instead is banish them UNTIL the endphase, meaning that Mirrorjade is still considered to be Fusion summoned from the Extra Deck when it returns from S:P effect, rather than special summoned back to the field like with Quem or Ad Libitum reborn effects

@@YamiElut What happens with cosmic Blazar I want to know, can they force me to play all my effects first and then return cosmic blazar or there is any kind of priority based on spell speed ? For example u cant say 'priority lubellion'

@@YamiElut How return works in terms of resolving effects? I know cosmic blazan can negate everything if u cant chain! I think is similar of what u said about littles knight, but I want to confirm
@YamiElutАй бұрын
@@AlexAnastaso Cosmic Blazar's return is essentially the same as S:P's. So the ordering will depend on who turn player is and then its a matter of choosing which order you want to resolve end phase effects when you have priority. Keep in mind that if the turn player resolves an effect in the end phase priority stays with them after the fact, and they can choose to resolve another effect OR pass to their opponent to resolve one effect. Opponent can choose to resolve one effect or simply pass priority back to the turn player if the turn player still has things they need to resolve. Does that help?

What happens if branded lost is on the field and you summon fallen of Albaz then activate effect to fusion with opponents cards, can it be negated?
@YamiElutАй бұрын
Depends on the card negating Albaz. If it negates the effect (imperm, veiler, Bystial Dis Pater, Number 90, etc) then Albaz can be negated under Branded Lost. If it negates the activation (Red Eyes Dark Dragoon, Baronne de Fleur, Apollousa, etc) then Albaz will resolve regardless under Branded Lost.

i dont understand how PEP dies if mirrorjade activated in the battle phase?
@YamiElutАй бұрын
The short version is that Mirrorjade's effect does not resolve when it activates. If that were the case PEP would be immune to it. But since it resolves later in the end phase and does not start a chain in the end phase, it is not considered an "activated" effect anymore and is considered an effect that already activated and partially resolved. If it started a chain and fully resolved immediately PEP would be immune, but it does neither of those two things

To add on to this, “unaffected by activated effects” protection will not get you around Mirrorjade. However, unaffected by all effects (some variation of “unaffected by your opponent’s effects” or “unaffected by other card effects”), protection will protect from Mirrojade, because this protection doesn’t care about when the effect applies. It only cares about if it’s an effect that is applying, lingering or otherwise

Can bystial dis pater quick effect negate mirrorjades field destruction effect?
@YamiElutАй бұрын
If Mirrorjade is destroyed by card effect then yes Dis Pater can negate it given it has a banished opponent card to shuffle back. If Mirrorjade was destroyed by battle then it occurs during the damage step, meaning Dis Pater will not be able to negate it since Dis Pater negates the monster's effect, not the activation.
@InvokedAlbazАй бұрын
You have to negate it when it activates in the GY, like Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer. Once it resolves in the GY, then its too late and cant do anything about it.

@LuisGonzalez-tv7tyАй бұрын
Yes.

@Mizzle200 I assume you mean Fusion Duplication? Fusion Duplication says "Target 1 "Fusion" or "Polymerization" Normal or Quick-Play Spell in either player's GY; banish that Spell, then apply that Spell's effect when that card is activated." Shaddoll Fusion is a Normal Spell and has "Fusion" in its name, so it meets the criteria. The thing that might trip you up is that you need to make sure that Shaddoll Fusion is still in the GY at resolution, as Fusion Duplication says "Then", so A has to happen in order for B to happen, and they happen in sequence.

If you plan on getting Quem/Sanctifire/etc pretty soon then I think for a bit you'll be fine with the patchwork engine as a substitute (and even after getting Quem you can still totally play it). @YamiElutАй бұрын
Quem is a difficult one to replace since no card does everything she can in one. Part of the power of the two Bystials (specifically Saronir) is to get you to other spells through the graveyard when paired with Quem's on summon effect or Albion the Shrouded Dragon's send to GY. Without two of those 3 pieces it will limit you in certain scenarios. I would probably either swap in a tech of your choice like the patchwork engine/super poly/etc, and/or bump Cartesia to 3 for strictly more gas
