Just for a second, can we talk about the Cobia in the room? Mother Murphy, that was an Enormous Cobia!!! Living in Canada we get a lot of American fishing videos highlighted (provided you watch these kinds of videos to begin with) and I have seen multiple large Cobias over the years. Some taken with rod and reel, some taken by spearfishing, and the most insane was watching as spearfishers were diving down and shooting Cobia off of Bull Sharks!!! Icon that you are though, you haul up the Mother of ALL Cobia in some kind of desperate attempt to show us that braid will stretch given the right gear, and an impossibly large fish!! Well done Icon, Sir!!! I like your little cooker and cook system with the Jet Boil included. It kind of reminds me of a cooker my Buddy's Dad had, and brought out to Hunting Camp a few times, it was called a Cobb Cooker. It had a lot of the same kinds of cooking features that your funky little Dometic Cooker has, plus the Dometic has some cool features not found on the Cobb, like the ability to fold the legs down into a compact design making it a perfect dinner companion no matter what the adventure!!! Thanks for letting us tag along on your epic day of fishing out on the Big Blue and the Scout is looking more and more like a Deadly Fishing Weapon!! All my Love to You, Tal, Abella and the Pups, Indi & Baz and special thanks to your Buddy from another Mommy, Josh, who got stuck into some very cool fish, congratulations!!! Take Care, Be Safe & Tight Lines!!! - Dave

Our main mannnn!! So good to hear from you 🙌 I hope all has been well on your front and the body is on the mend and treating you kindly. Haha yesss I’ve seen those crazy guys spearing cobia off sharks too they must have some big cahoonahs 😂😂😂 I’ll give that one a miss thank you lol. It’s been many years since I’ve tangled with a big one but back in my hey day I actually caught a cobia that would have put this one to shame !! It got eaten boat side by a tiger shark and all we were left with was the head from the pec fins up. We weighed that part for interest and it was 13kg so we estimated the fish itself to be in the 50-60 range which is close to as big as they get I’m pretty sure. I have a photo of that somwhere I’ll have to dig it out. Bub and mum are doing well we took everyone out for a walk the other day pups included and had a great day out in the sunshine :) just need to win lotto so we can keep that lifestyle up instead of going back to work hahaha Well thanks again for tuning in mate! Hope you enjoyed it and we’ll catch you on the next episode 🤙🩵

@@CoastalChaosAdventures If it's any consolation I keep buying lotto tickets here too, figure I'd share it with you and a few other folks if I ever win!! Might even move to the southern hemisphere myself if I ever win, but someplace a little cooler than Australia and with less poisonous critters, but close enough that a trip every odd month for a fishing trip wouldn't be out of the question!! Glad you and the Family got out for a lovely day in the Sunshine, those kind of days make for pretty wonderful memories later on!! Take care, my Icons!!

Excellent, my dear Icon!!! There's a few fish for the freezer at home for a few meals! So I guess Gold is the new Black!? What make of motorized reel are you using to do these deep drops with, Mate? Not too much new up here, Summer is settling in and I've been out enjoying the weather when I can!! I'm supposed to be sitting in my wheelchair, as much as possible anyway, to let my wound (The one on my undercarriage) finally grow some new skin. Walking increases the risk of tearing the fragile new layers of skin, but damn is it hard sitting in a bloody chair all day!! That's enough of me complaining, how's Abella and Tal? I bet young Abella is growing like a weed, and keeping you two on your toes. I can recall with my Brother's kids and my Friends kids that from brand spanking new, just out of the oven to 17 or so and graduating High School takes about 4.7 seconds or so. I know you're back onto the renovations again so I won't keep you much longer but have you started "toddler" proofing your home yet?As per the rules, baby proofing involves locks on cupboards and putting things up at least 3 to 4 feet. Toddler proofing reasons that the child now possesses the ability to bypass any lock you can come up with so you need to organize all the things you love or cost a bit of money on and move it to a safe location at or above 12 feet off the ground, and do it in the dead of night while the child is sleeping. This may sound extreme but I can assure you it is quite necessary. As always much Love from me to You, Tal and Abella, and the Pups!! - Dave

G'day Matey!!! Well so much for Moonphase, Tidal Charts, Star Alignments and Time of Day being the bearing for great fishing indicators!! With bite after bite and some proper stonkers landed and in the Fish Bag this turned out to be a decently productive day out on the Big Blue!! That Whaler looked a lot like what they call "Bronzies" in New Zealand, must be a closely related species of shark. I hope the trip home was uneventful and that you and the Family had a lovely fish supper soon after!! Tell Abella to slow down growing until I can mail off this parcel of goodies, so that she fits into a little something I got her. As always Much Love to You, Tal, Abella and the Pups, Baz & Indi!!! Tomorrow is Canada Day here (July 1) so I'll raise a beer to salute my Commonwealth Kin!! Take care, Icons!!! - Dave

Heya mate… I have but I’ve recently upgraded to have an external mic for better audio which is way too cumbersome to have strapped to your head all day haha. I do run a life jacket with a PLB while the boat is moving mate it’s a waist bag version so I can still run the GoPro and get around the boat easier 👌👌 also always log on with VMR and run a killswithch lanyard so plenty of safety precautions running long distance solo 🙌✅😁 trust me I don’t want to swim home either hahaha

Man, those fish pull hard. You're a fairly physical sort of guy by the looks, and used to the big shark action etc. But those bigger GTs are brutal. Well done on persisting and dealing with the conditions you had thrown at you - particularly the call not to go further out, when solo with a young one back at home to think of. What was the lure, mate? Looked like a shallow diving FCL Labo Minnow?
