I was wondering what I should tell my Costco if I wanted to trade in my Philips 9040 for a new release of the latest model?

I have 2 sets of Costco KS-10s. I have been using OnePlus phones since they debut with the first model. I bought the Jabra Enhance 20 model because my insurance company pays for them. Now for the review. These 20s are absolute garbage. They won't stay connected with each other let alone stay connected to the phone. The Bluetooth radio must be the cheapest and bottom quality. These lose contact with the phone past 10 feet, sometimes they lose connection with the phone in my shirt pocket. My wife has a iphone 15 pro max, same problem, so its not the phone. I honestly believe the phone app was made by some 5th grade students. These HA's lose connection with the phone app several times a day. They don't pair with the phone automatically, i have to pair them every time. Sometimes the left pairs, sometimes the right pairs, hardly ever together. I have done everything to fix this. Uninstall and reinstall the app, clear cache in the app, Bluetooth on/off, airplane mode on/off, reboot the phone, I've done it all. I have $10 earbuds I bought work better than these with no dropouts. If you are outside with some wind blowing, forget it. These aids disconnect from each other all the time. These HA's are so frustrating. As far as support through the app, you can forget that too. I guarantee you these are going back within the 6 months trial period. Way to much aggrevasion to own. If you don't want to stream anything, you might be happy with these. My KS-10s has double tap to mute, answer phone from 30 feet away. These 20's have none of that. In summary, i really really hate these 20's, my opinion, absolutely garbage for $1600! As far as battery life, i can't keep them connected long enough to test them. I know the hearing club thinks 6 months trial period is ridiculous, i do too. I think the trial should be 1 year minimum! You can't listen to a tablet and phone at the same time, one or the other. Most of the time when you switch between tablet and phone, you have to unpair and search again, and go through the whole process. Did i mention these Jabra Enhance 20's are garbage!!!

How interesting! We have Directv Stream plus Netflix, Hulu and Max. Since Roku has apps for all of those, I can watch anything, including shows recorded on the DTVS DVR through my hearing aids. Sound quality is certainty not on par with my man-cave Dolby surround system, but acceptable for those times I don't want to disturb anyone else.

I have had the Costco Enhance Pro 20 for two months now. I notice no improvement in my hearing. I consider my loss just inconvenient as trying to hear a cashier across the desk or when ordering food etc. I have another appointment in about three weeks. Do you think a different brand, ie Rexon or Philips 9050 would give me better results or should I just return them. Thank you.

Should this work? I loaded the program and updater. The program starts but the build doesn't update to the version you've shown. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I could sure use some help. I have severely sloping HF hearing loss and am getting ReSound Nexia because it does well with Background noise. I can get the 5 for $240 or the 7 for $1040. The 9 is $2000 and too much for me right now. I want to go with the 5, but feel I might regret not going to the 7. My insurance allows upgrade every 36 months. I don’t know what to do!! Hi Brian. Thanks for the videos. Here's what I'm most interested in knowing right now. What settings don't I touch in the fitting software if I don't want to upset my Costco fitter? I'm thinking specifically about not destroying the work he's done in doing REM and following best practice. Also, by saving a session... does that mean if I make some humungous mistake down the track I can go back to that session to recover? Hope that makes sense. Maybe a subject for a future video?

Thanks for all of the videos, Brian! I have a pair of the Enhanced Pro 20 RIC, but the sound is scratchy, tinny, or too much high frequency to my ears. I'm assuming the custom-fit ITE could help round them out with more low-frequency or bass sounds I hope for? I got the impression from my fitter (I could be wrong) that the Jabras tend to operate more at the high frequencies. In your experience, could the Phillips 9040s or the Rexton Reach a better choice if I am struggling with the high frequencies? Thanks, I hope my questions make sense.
@HearingClub
@HearingClub 6 күн бұрын
This can all be adjusted via the fitting software. Ask your fitter to increase the lows a bit. You can also adjust them yourself using the equalizer in the app. Try it out and see if you like it. Even if you had customs (ITE, ITC) you could still increase/decrease the lows and highs. Hope this helps!

Great review! I’ve fit close to 70% of my members with the BICORE and fortunately did not have the same issues you spoke of-only a handful. I absolutely love how great the Reach sounds compared to our other products. Add that with great battery life and much smaller travel charger, and it’s just a no brainer for the majority of my members. One aspect I think gets over looked by a lot of AUDs and HIS’ is the dome system. It is hands down the best for controlling the acoustics in the ear. The sleeve domes are the closest to a mold as you can get and are often times more comfortable. I wish Jabra and Philips had similar domes as most canals are not round, but oval shaped which the sleeve dome mimics very well. Love the Cliff Olsen remark by the way 😂

I am on my second set of Jabra Enhance Pro 20s. The first set worked great fo the first two weeks before they stopped picking up sounds and only thing comming out of speakers was a low level white noise. Increasing the volume only made the hissing louder. Replacing domes and wax filters had no effect. Costco ordered replacements and they were great again. I am now about three weeks along with this set and they have deteriorated just like the first set. I am back to Costco next week Monday and i am thinking that it is time to get another brand. I should mention that the HIS tried to reprogram and retested with REM and nothing and nothing she did indicated any life and therefore the replacement. They have not been wet, i clean them every night. I am wondering if any one else has had similar problem, and if you have changed brand what is your experience. Since i want LE audio bluetooth it seems that Rexton Reach is the only currently available choice since the latest Philips model is not available. Second question is how the replacement process works. Do i simply purchase the replacement and then turn in my original Jabra's for refund or is it a one time swap transaction?

Brian HELP! I need your web address so I can inquire about the program download. Then I need to go to ebay to get that little box. In the meantime I have a question.... I asked my fitter how can I watch KZfaq on my Windows PC and others not hear it. They told me to get Audio Clip. So I ordered it. When it came in (I have no idea why) normally it takes 6-8 weeks to get an appt with one of the 2 fitters. But they are (so call) on vacation for the month of July. HUH? So the audio clip is straight forward for hooking up. It went onto my laptop, no issues but when I use it with my hearing aids, it only plays thru the left side. Do you know why? I have no one to call at Costco. Ridiculous that they put both fitters out at the same time cause the receptionist there has no clue she said. My other question...my fitter won't put more than 2 programs on my hearing aids at one time. She says it confuses people. They gave me general and Speech in noise. With both, I hear people but can't understand them and with SIN program, the background noise just in Costco alone sounded like a stampede of people in a metal box. I am really frustrated. Wondering if I need to try a different hearing aid!? The fitter, who is the senior fitter there, said I have Asymmetrical hearing and only the Philips will work for Asymmetrical, my ENT says I do not have Asymmetrical hearing. She tested again and she still says I do. The two tests side by side look like 2 completely different people. So I am not sure what I should do. Any advice?

I’ve trialed the Starkey Genesis and the Signia silk charge and go . 30% hearing loss high frequency . Background noise is a real problem that I’m still dealing with . This is working with audiologist and professional set up . Will follow your channel as Costco is know for making great product including golf balls lol.. occlusion effect is also huge detraction for me . Will now put these on my radar . What’s the trial period from Costco . 45 days seems to be industry standard ?

I am one of the ones that complained that the Rexton BiCore were absolute horrible, the sound amplification for EVERYTHING around me was terrible, I was not able to understand group conversations, restaurants or God forbid outdoors. I sincerely hate those. I then found the Signia Charge & Go 7-IX, and OMG…. what a difference! The Signia 7-IX are simply the best, it resolved all of the issues I experienced with the Rexton and beyond. I am very happy to hear the Reach are the same as the 7-IX, and if true…..let me tell you, they will then be considered the best just as the 7-IX. The one thing that you haven’t mentioned which is big for me, is that the Signia 7-IX gives you the opportunity to answer phone calls and talk without having to have the cellphone right by your mouth; I can now answer calls and have the cellphone elsewhere. I hope that all the new Reach user have the same very happy experience I have with the Signia 7-IX.

Great Video. I have Jabra Pro 20 hearing aids and a older Roku 3 that doesn't have this feature. The same IPhone app connects a newer Roku TV. I tried this feature on a fire cube and it works sort of. You have to turn off you cell phone or otherwise disconnect the pairing to your cell phone and it connects but turns off the TV speaker. Then you have to disconnect from the fire cube and repair the cell phone to your aids. Waiting for (if ever) Jabra to release the Auracast feature for IPhones.

Great Vids Brian. 👍 First one that has spoken out about the issues with the Bicores. Mine are about 2 months old and I’ve been back about 4 times including a warranty repair that was moot as issues still remain. Biggest one is volume drop of about 30% in either one or the other. Switching off/on does not always reset as it may still have residual power. Back into the charger fixes it. This drop occurs at least once a week. I’m returning them at the end of month for refund. But I’m still undecided on Reach, Jabra or even the Philips. Sure they have a bigger form factor but do most things pretty well. Thoughts?

Very informative video. Using the software makes more sense now after viewing the original video you did. I learned the your tip of lowering the volume of one ear when in a car, with someone. I hadn't thought of that! I've noticed that just by lowering the volume of both ears by about two clicks helps in a lot of situations to eliminate buzzing. I'm not sure if the Costco fitter set the volume too high but lowering it manually helps a lot.
