Not to be taken seriously in any way. Complete bullshit, in fact. It all depends on the guy behind the camera. Gear is really not that important, but hey, gear is all this channel is about🤷

Love this, as it's so true. We picked our wedding photographer based on his portfolio, not on what he turned up with on the day (Nikon BTW). So long as you can deliver the results, that's all that matters. Get the gear that works for you, and most importantly, as mentioned here, LEARN how to use it, and LEARN its limitations/weaknesses so you can work around them. That's far more important/valuable than thinking buying a different camera will automatically get you 'better'/different results. It might do, but more than likely won't.

This is (I think) only the second video of yours I have seen, and you've got a bazillion more subs than me, so you can ignore this if you want, but a little piece of advice. Please don't write "nope" and "i suck" on your stuff, even if you're kind of half joking. The thing with our brains is that we tend to believe it when we say such things, even in jest. And then we process it, internalize it, and our whole *everything* absorbs this a bit. Be kind to yourself. Your misses are just shots on the way to your hits. Don't write that any more, okay?

2:59 "If you're a photographer, you pretty much like to quickly flip up to shoot like this" Seriously, am I the only photographer who occasionally wants to shoot in portrait orientation from a low angle??!! I remember being on an organised photography trip to Iceland about 12 years ago. When we introduced ourselves we also mentioned the brand we shot with, and there was a girl who said "I got the Canon 60D because the flip screen makes it easy to shoot from low angles". I had a fixed screen DSLR at the time, and I thought to myself, "yeah, wish my camera had that". Now, I will say that how much I like this mechanism sort of depends on how reliable SnapBridge is. The reason being, I have a Foolography Unleashed N2 permanently plugged into my D750. And, I have an L-bracket that sits around said dongle to protect it from bumps. I don't like this setup because it makes the camera bigger and heavier, but I want geotagging and remote control. So, if SnapBridge can do that reliably, then Nikon I love you. If not, then Nikon, why??!! On another note, I still think it's possible to engineer a solution where the action of flipping the screen in either the horizontal or vertical direction, locks it in place in the other direction, without any further need for a complicated mechanism. I want to draw this, design this, think about this. But, I don't work for a camera company.

Maaaan you’re cool ! I didn’t know that the sims are different - I ordered it getting it tomorrow to potentially replace the XT30ii kinda silly but the form factor is just so good I hope the auto focus issues people mentioned aren’t a dealbreaker cause the camera seems so cool and the lens is even more flush. The fact people say it’s more analog makes me happy haha.

As you mentioned, having the Zf, I like the articulating screen on that camera, but prefer the two-way tilt screen on the Z8 (which I have) as it's a step up from the one found on the Z6/Z7 II cameras, so that's a bonus. As for the flippy screen on the Z6 III, it probably wouldn't bother me, since I Don't shoot video and I don't do "selfie" mode even on my Zf (ever) so for me, it wouldn't matter, but for those who like to shoot at a low angle in horizontal mode (which I do sometimes) it might become a problem because it means you have to use a wider stance Iguess to grip the lens (you have to reach around the screen or hold the camera underneath the screen which may be an awkward position either way. as to the stacked sensor I think they could have done a fully stacked sensor design, and I know it was probably about cost reasons, but it would still have differentiated enough from the Z8/Z9 just by resolution that I think another $100 would have been OK too to be honest. But at the same time, I think some are seeing the "partially" stacked sensor as a cop out for a better design ,even if means a bit more cost, and some feel it's not as big of a deal as people hype it to be. I mean Nikon is claiming the Z6 III is 20% faster than the Z6 II. So that really puts the Zf probably about 10% faster than the Z6 II (maybe 15% in terms of AF) but really maybe marginally slower than the Z6 III at least in terms of AF, as I think the partially stacked sensor mainly will help with AF during video mostly, although it might help during stills photography, but from the demos I saw, it didn't look much different than what the Zf could do in many of the subject-tracking tasks, except maybe birds, where the Z6 III may excel slightly due to the faster sensor since birds are a bit more unpredictable and perhaps the camera is able to keep up with their tiny movements better than a Zf would with the slower sensor. That being said, if you just want a travel camera, the Z6 II is still a good bargain, and if you want something slightly better the Zf is a good option. I'd say the Z6 III but only if you need the video features and/or pre-release. Otherwise I think it is mostly comparable to the Zf in other aspects. I do agree on your comment about the Z7 series and landscapes, and actually I think that would be better overall IQ (probably not by much, other than more detail) but also from a noise aspect as it may related to the partially stacked sensor (the Z8's high ISO noise is a bit worse than he Z7 II and I suspect part of that is the stacked sensor -- while much faster -- one side effect is more noise at higher ISOs). Nikon may have tweaked this a bit in the Z6 III as it will relate to the Z8 and Z7 series, but my guess is there may still be a small noise penalty regardless when compared to the non-stacked BSI sensors.

It's not really about what I like though. Whatever you use will produce an impression, so it should be, which one creates the impression that is closest to what you would like. If you were going to do any work on the audio, post - it's easier to add than it is to take away. So the radio announcer booming Senheiser is not flat. It's the JPG audio where as a couple of the others would be nice Raw audio :)

Great walk through of your reasoning! I'm not a Mac user and although I have zero experience of the Mac environment I'm happy on PC, but one thing is obvious - Mac screens are on a different level of clarity - not a fan of the glossy finish though. The retina concept of having the pixels so small they are hard to see is why I like the idea of 27 inch 4k, still lots of space compared to an ~18 inch laptop screen (26.5 inch 1080 viewsonic second screen). Oled would be nice, but burn in is a thing... :) smh
