So turns out that AMD8840u at 2Owhats is the same performance than the Apple M4 with Max TDP of 20w on the newest iPad pro on cinebench, however one can easily boost the 8840u up to 30-37w and get even more performance more than the stock max TDP of 28w by a 10%. So this chip wipes the floor with the M4. I don't think the snapdragon X elite will get close to the M4 performance. Not to mention, the iGPU on the 8840 is faster than a PS4 pro, there is no way adreno gets that kind of performance either, we know the GPU on the M4 is effectively the same than the one they used on the M3 , they just have ray tracing support now, and that is nowhere close to the the i780m found in the 8840u.

I am a great fan of Windows 11 arm. I've been using a Windows Dev Kit 2023 with the Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 and 32 GB RAM (viz. Surface Pro 9 SQ3 in a box) for the past 15 months daily, and over that time seen some significant improvements with the OS, graphics drivers (now include Vulkan support), x64 emulation, full arm64 developer suite and tools, WLS2 and Windows for subsystem Android both with arm64 binaries and hardware graphics acceleration support, and an increasing number of Windows apps that also have arm64 binaries. I plan to purchase a Surface Pro 10 or similar with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon X Elite processor, but that didn't stop also ordering a Minisforum V3 tablet. I play a lot of games on my PCs. The Windows Dev Kit is capable of gaming and is especially good at game emulation, as Dolphin, aethersx2, PPSSPP, Duck Station and DosBox-X all have versions compiled for arm64, but other games, such as Genshin Impact (v4.6) though runs OK is dependent on x64 emulation, and hence not optimised for the platform. When PCs with Snapdragon X Elite laptops etc are release H2, I suspect I lot more productivity apps with also get arm64 versions, but gaming may be slower to follow suit. It all depends on how quickly people take to these new arm64 PCs. Arm processors have a lot to offer the PC / Windows 11 / Linux community, but some PC users are much slower to adopt innovative technology, preferring the relative safety of big blue, even if their processors chew through laptop battery life. Arm processors, including MediaTek / Nvidia's new Windows arm processors in 2025 is going to make the next few years extremely exciting for the PC community. I wonder how long it will be before we get an arm64 PC gaming handheld?

I was between buying this and a gaming laptop, but because of the hot sale (here in Mexico) I prefered to buy the 1 TB Legion Go and a MacBook Air (since I have been an OSX user for more than 14 years) I hope I have made a good choice. I bought it practically as an “extension” to my Xbox Series X. Do you think I made a good choice? Should I request a refund for both devices and only purchase the gaming laptop? I have to say that my main games are: Diablo IV, Diablo II Resurrected, Warzone, Fortnite, Age of Empires, Injustice, most of them are available on Xbox Game Pass. I appreciate your response, please. arm based tablets are completly different things and wont replace this tablet in the near future. i tested arm based tablets recently and they arent compareable with x86 based devices at all. the battery life was good yes but if they work than they suck out the battery life. on top of that nothing runs on arm. so why bothering and claiming such things

To be honest, the SD X Elite is nice to have... yet it will still take few years to get full software to port over or be fully supported natively. Currently the V3 beats my Win Max 2 2022 (6800u) if all areas. And it's WAY better value then the surface pro 10.

If scuba diving is your thing don’t buy the X4. The X4 has a dive case preset which has 8K video. Today I wanted to try my new dive case during a snorkel. I was surprised that it stopped because of ‘over heating’. Or so it notified. Very frustrating for sure. I suspect this overheating problem will be ironed out in the X5.

Hi everyone. Currently I own a Lenovo Legion 5 (Model 2021, serial 17ACH6H, 16 gb ram, 3060 rtx, etc). I used it for design: digital illustration, video editing, illustrator, etc, and ocasionally for gaming...At this moment the laptop still functioning very well, nice temps, not so much noisy, good performance overall... It would be worth to sell it for getting the Legion Go for the same stuff? I know that I would need a separate screen for this.

Good review, the DJI Mic2 even though it's bluetooth, it works perfect and the sound quality is excellent, surprisingly for BT. With the DJI Mic 2, I find that if I want the best audio, I just record on the mic 2 internally and sync post. I'm not a big fan of having things sticking out of my camera like adapters and such, I'm a fumbling idiot and with my luck, it will likely get damaged. The nice thing about the Mic 2 is that you can use it within a dive housing which I always have on not only while diving but just on the beach, salt water is the devil! lol

I just got mine delivered this morning and have only played around with it in my backyard. You mentioned having to do a lot of post-processing when going through 360 footage. Not to parrot Insta360's overuse of "AI" but I will say the tracking features in the app are pretty impressive and were much smoother than I could get with manually adding keyframes. I noticed you didn't mention the app too much though and might be trying to avoid relying on it, so I get it.

I'd be interested in what sort of real resolution you reckon u get in me mode. As you point out, once you crop an 8k 360 video into 170x120 degree action camera type field of view your not getting anything like 4k, more like 2k. If the fov in me mode is much the same that's got to be 2k too surely, even if it's telling you it's 4k.
