I’m from the UK have travelled on the railway twice and agree with your comment it is the best railroad in the world. I live about 64 miles from London and this is one thing that makes the Cumbres and Toltec amazing that is the distance between Chama and Antonito. USA - 2024, still have wood creek bridges at many places. WOOD BRIDGES, KARL! And that's when there are we are having very heavy trains goiong over them. Cmon, this is not 1930's! Improve infrastructure already. In many Asian and European railroads the mainline railroads do not have any more wood bridges. Many countries even phased out wood rail ties. But in USA we stay with 1920's traditions. facepalm....
