Thank you for being so open sharing your feelings and your story. I am not a hoarder, but what you say still resonates with me. Thanks to you I can better understand some people in my family that tend to keep stuffs non- reasonably (as it appears at first), actual stuff or even trash... I think your voice is so important, I never encountered another channel like yours, just keep going because you do something very important here. Thanks again and well done for your journey !

July 2024. How about one bin for each season or holiday? I have a plastic shoebox for each season. Maybe for Christmas you could have 3 or 4 bins. Did you ever clear out your attic? I saw the garage and shed clean outs. I toss stuff all the time and give away lots of stuff. Tina, Al's wife

lol I love doing xmas in july... usually do xmas movies and tunes LOL. kind of wanted to sort the xmas closet too. also did a dream home mock up I think jr hs or so...in my maximalist days in the attic under the slopes tons of storage spaces for stufffff, tons of space for vhs tapes (I had over a thousand and only expected to grow the collection) and it had a hidden slide in it too, green house in the attic as well.. bedrms were HUGE like mini apts to themselves. houses are big bc we have so much stuff. our house is a tad over 1400 sq ft and I feel we have too much stuff and a tad too much house, lmao.

I love those Hallmark decorations. I have a lot, too. I did not save the boxes. These decorations are for me and my family so the boxes are irrelevant. Those get tossed immediately

Would it be possible to take your dalmations out of their moldy boxes? The hard plastic is cleanable even if the moldy cardboard isn't, and you could safely keep them that way
@user-tc1gi4bs1eКүн бұрын
I Know you are attached to the Boxes also, but I think you gotta let go… maybe Build a beautiful Display Shelf, you can decorate with your crafts and gemstones… or buy little Square platic box and put in individually ❤

I’ve been watching your channel from day one and I just have to ask has it ever occurred to you that maybe holding onto all this stuff like the Dalmatian stuff is actually a “reminder” of those bad times. I am a recovering hoarder too and I had to let go of the stuff that reminded me of the older less happier times and the weight lifted off me I didn’t even realize I had was enormous. I really want that for you and I want that for your husband and kids so you don’t have that hanging over you cluttering up your life anymore. But I will tell you to think about selling that stuff to collectors maybe on eBay not just in a yard sale because I’m pretty sure all your old childhood stuff is at this point collector stuff vintage or original and surely worth some money at this point. I feel like you have a small fortune there in those bins. The presence of those bins is subconsciously reminding you of those bad times. Even though you think it makes you feel safe I believe it’s reminding you of bad times. In some way it’s a shrine to them. If they weren’t there in your basement you would not have to keep talking about why you hold onto them or thinking about. It will just be gone. When in reality you are safe. You have your beautiful family and don’t need that old stuff anymore. And when it all goes away I can guarantee you the old hurt goes away too in ways you can’t know until they leave for good. Obviously no one can make you do something you aren’t ready to do but I just wonder if you’ve ever considered this.

July 2024. I'm making progress on my goals, too. Keep tossing things you don't use or need. I gave away 4 dozen pencils last Halloween. I have stuff for the food pantry back-to-school collection already. Tina, Al's wife

Idk if this helps at all. But seeing the boxes just have damage maybe you can just have the items in the box wrapped up safely in a labeled bin ?
@CB-jh1pt2 күн бұрын
I sometimes find things which I am suspicious of being near mouldy things. Be careful where you store the 101 Dalmatians things you’re keeping, in case they make other bits like soft furnishings susceptible to damage, too. That might just be anxiety, but I would hate for other precious things to be damaged as you’re cheating things. The need to hold onto some things makes me keep them too, I’m just not ready. For me, it’s moldy or sus family VHSs - not sure I’ll ever get them fixed :/
@barbarap68512 күн бұрын
Great job! I know you like to keep things as they were first given to you...could you remove those ornaments from their packaging, let the packaging go (moldy) and wipe, then store just the ornaments? It will save them from the mold and save you a lot of space.

If you are not ready to get rid of the Dalmatians, would you be ready to get rid of the funky dunky packaging and clean the items

Hi miss heart, your videos are so helpful. Just one small information: you are such an animal lover so i am sure you might like to know that that fish Tank is really tiny for most fish. It may stem from a Time where less was known about the memory capacity of fish and their needs. So when you do research on fish before buying them you may end up purchasing a larger tank. If so maybe the glass of the old one can be crafted into something else with your talents and craft stash. ❤

As a Brit I notice it is quite common to decorate for every ‘season’ in U.S, - Christmas, Easter, spring, autumn, Halloween, valentines etc etc. this is quite an alien idea in U.k and Europe, it’s just Christmas, some people decorate for Halloween but they are in the minority. Well done for reducing the decor bins, so much space in the basement now.
@ahoardersheart2 күн бұрын
Oh wow, yes I didn’t know that, thank you for sharing! That explains why my mom only decorated for Christmas…maybe 1 or 2 things for Halloween bc of me! She’s from Chile!! We do decorate for almost every holiday! I would say that the only time we have “regular” decor is between Easter and Halloween!

I’m really asking, how do you know when you are hoarding Christmas stuff? You have what seems to be a lot of Christmas stuff. How do you not hoard Christmas stuff, or do you put Christmas stuff in a separate, protected category? How do you know for you, when enough is enough?

Wow! The basement looks like it’s almost done to the point where most everything is in an organized labeled bin! That’s great!! Once that’s done, will you be doing KonMari on all the categories? Also, I think with more space in the basement you should eventually have the things from the attic moved down and organized with the things in basement so you can have everything together in once space, organized and see what you have! Like the Halloween decor with the rest of the holiday decorations eventually 😊 you may have already mentioned what your plans were but I may have missed it!!

I also see these items as gift opportunities. Make homemade gifts for people and give them away! It's a running joke amongst my friends that I have too much crochet thread and yarn. Recently I have been frantically making gifts for people to get rid of my stash without throwing away things and have really gotten into cross stitching and embroidery. I saw those 1990s embroidery flosses! You have a treasure trove of crochet yarn and floss and so much. Your hands are your gift makers and also way to get rid of stuff!
