Should new pistons make a slight scraping sound when installed new and crank turned over by hand? I took out a piston to check rings, and they were all good. Makes me think this is normal but need second opinion. Cyclinder walls are clean too... it's very confusing

I know it's an old video, but what is the specs on all parts used? Bore/length of rod, what company/crank used/and can a Windsor block be used?

What. Is the cost of doing this and how many Kilometers before expecting this to be done

What are the chances of replacing these problematic alloy tech engines back to the good old eco tech 3.8 vs engine basically going backwards to a more reliable engine. I see so many good cheap vehicles for sale with (needs timing chains done)

No intention of ever building or even owning something with a Big Block in it, but Mick's knowledge and way he explains things makes it great viewing! I could easily watch a 1 hour+ long vid showing the machining beforehand.

Are these oversized pistons? Is it possible to use over size pistons in this block without new sleeves? My engine just broke down because of a broken sparkplug. One exhaust valve was damaged by the ceramic parts of this spark plug. And now I am trying to figure out what is possible to rebuild the engine. When I took the head of, I saw that the cylinder walls seem to be worn-out, because they are to blank and shiny.
