Production designer Ryu Seonghui has a very distinctive print on some of the greatest Korean cinema classics! Would love to see what you think about RM's music video for the pre-release single Come Back To Me. Ryu also serves as the production designer for this one. Another music video for Lost! coming Friday 5.24 is sure to be another thought-provoking and gorgeous cinematic treat.

3:43 I know this video is like four years old (sorry) but I disagree ardently that Haemi poses a neutral tone. haemi's portrayal of her "big hunger" is done through overt subtext. If you take a feminist analysis of the movie, Haemi's ember of knowledge of class envy really does glow. In my opinion... She is starving for human connection. She latches onto Jongsu at the beginning of the movie because she thinks that seeing him as a sign of hope. In the scene you mention, Haemi isn't jumping from topic to topic because she's "worldly", even though it appears like that at face value. it's actually quite the opposite. She jumps from topic to topic because she contains multitudes of passion. Haemi's behaviour in that scene reminds me of Sylvia Plath's fig tree analogy. She has so much hunger for knowledge, so many questions unanswered within herself, that instead of remaining stoic and focused on a goal, she wants to hold all of her possibilities in front of her. She makes up lies because she is the true storyteller, whilst Jongsu merely observes. My thoughts are a little disjointed, but I hope this makes sense!

Even without the context of the scene, that uncanny walk and especially that dip freaked me out. Adding this to my watch list!

Reminds me of that video from Atomic Heart video game that shows a fuzzy humanoid thing walking but it's doing it all wrong. Definitely makes me think there's an uncanny valley but for movement as well as faces

This is my favorite movie of all time and I love your breakdown. If you want another anxiety movie to break down, check out Todd Haynes’ Safe, which is similarly effective in causing anxiety, but mostly because of how it portrays it. It’s much slower and more methodical, but it is very effective.

the whole uncut version of the scene where he murders the woman and her two sons is soo horrific . that's real horror done right, it made me so uncomfortable because you're never really given an explanation as to how it all went down. it just cuts to him straight up hunting them after a closeup of the target and a line of dialogue.

So many people thought Jake was ill while filming this but it just goes to show how much he's willing to do to take on his character's image...not just their personality. He lost so much weight to fit Bloom's persona. Looks can be *_very_* deceiving. Imo, his transformation from Nightcrawler to End of Watch alone show how versatile his characterisation strength can be.

I think you missed an important point, he burns his clothes in the end just like he did with his mothers. He said he was forced to burn his mothers clothes and to forget she existed. I think that he finally felt in control when he burned his own clothes, something he never did his whole life as you mentioned the dad dictated his life and he felt like the animal in the shed. And I fully agree with what you said in the end, there will never be an answer unless you create one yourself, I think you meant it in the context of life, but the director is saying this in the context of the ending. You create your own answer of the ending, like you do in your everyday life.

I despise the content of the House That Jack Built simply because I find acts of realistic violence very upsetting. But the edits and storytelling is so intriguing that even tho I was disgusted by it I still kept thinking about it years after watching it. I don't know much about film making but something about how it's shot makes me want to make a short film (even tho I lack any talent to do so).

Funny thing is that the movie tells you exactly what's going to happen and you're still scared. It really shows the importance of pacing and atmosphere in horror instead of forced spooks thrown at your face.

I remember this was one of the first films I went to see as an adult that I knew was a good and well made movie, but I just really didn't enjoy based on the character and how I couldn't connect or empathise with him for being such an awful person, thanks for highlighting some really great points. I think I'll give this film another try soon and just accept that he's horrible lol

8:00 yeah, no. This is NOT a conversation. This is a job interview and learning at least part of it is not that weird because it's kinda like a speech you'd be expected to have well rehearsed. If are keep repeating yourself too much, add too much filler, are too conversational instead of on the point you just tell the person that you are not very focused, that you get distracted easily and that you are not taking this all that seriously which is all very bad. Many employees will see all of this as negative points. No one expects a real speech during a job interview but they expect that you get to the point and if you stray it's something like an anecdote to illustrate part of your character relevant to the job, demonstrating a work ethic, etc. or maybe a little joke to lighten up the mood but not just pointless filler. The only red flag if him reciting the speech flawlessly while staring like the psychopath he is, monotonously, without the pauses needed to make it work and at a speed that suggests he wants to get it over with ASAP like a chore rather than truly caring about it and by extension the job. However given the situation the speed is not a real issue, as is the lack of any pause and to some extent even the monotone recital because the guy doesn't care and doesn't even look at Lou. It's understandable if someone trying to get a job starts to panic when the potential employer doesn't say anything while tarting to go about his work routine as if the job seeker does not exist, anyone would try to speed the speech up and remove pauses, seeing as the employer is already beyond caring and may well say something like "I'm not interested, have a good day" any moment so the job seeker tries to make the most out of the little bit of time he might have left to convince the employer hiring hi is a good idea or at the very least to start paying attention to the job seeker.

The thing about the word psychopath is yes, it is not a diagnosis. However, people who do genuinely awful things often have trouble feeling empathy for others, as people like this have hurt me. I do not trust or want to interact with these people even though I know that most of these people aren't killers. There is certainly a thin line between hatred and cautiousness, one that I often walk. And to be honest, I have not made heads or tails of it yet It gets more complicated since people with autism are often described as lacking empathy even though we do feel it; we have trouble showing it, which is a different whole thing from 'psychopaths' and other personality disorders entirely. The lack of empathy bit always annoyed me. It almost seems like people are saying they are the same thing, which is unfair to both of us. In my experience, the main danger of sociopaths and, narcissists and other such people. The untreated ones, at least, who are, let's be real, most of them,. It is not that they kill people but use people. And sometimes, being betrayed socially or being humiliated can be just as awful. There are worse things than murder, after all. It has nothing to do with this video, but I see people arguing back and forth in the comments. And my take on it is. Most psychopaths are not killers or bad people, though often not the best friends of vulnerable people. But a good chunk of the worst kinds of people are psychopaths and people with other personality disorders or other maladies Who lack empathy because otherwise, they would not do it. That being said, you can be a bad person without any of those. Evil is not a diagnosis. But a variety of factors. That, I think, is the fairest way I can put it. Oh, and blaming personality disorders solely for evil is also stupid. Since they also include things like DID that have nothing to do with this. They are often good people, just with a lot of trauma. Sorry for the long, rambling comment. I think this needed to be said.

okay so people keep saying mia thinks her moms death was accidental but i think towards the end of the movie she starts to believe HER DAD KILLED HER MOM. and that’s why she start asking “what haven’t you been honest with me about mom?” and when her dad wants to confess something to her i she thinks he’s about to admit he killed her. she can’t believe her mom had such a traumatic death, clawing at the door, by accident. that’s why the spirit is so easily able to convince her to kill her dad and calls her dad a killer.
