@ChrisDIYerOklahomaКүн бұрын
No, I do not make them to sell. This one in particular has over $650 in parts costs alone and weeks of fabrication/tuning and re-do's to make it sound perfect. In order to recoup my time and money, it would be 3x that cost or more -- which no one would pay. There is a guy in Texas (Boom Boxes of Texas here on KZfaq) that makes/sells these (but, to me, they are not even close to the quality sound mine have). He uses car coaxial speakers with very little bass. This green one I made plays down to 35 Hz all day long

I really envy those who can use swamp coolers in their garage. Unfortunately they don't do any good in 80%+ humidity environments. Looks like calcium and lime deposits, you can use some vinegar or food grade citric acid mixed in warm water if you don't care for the vinegar smell. Time to give it the full PM treatment. As for filtering it out, there's no real economical way to way to treat the water in short of feeding it with reverse osmosis, distilled, or deionized water. Some say that you can run it through a water softener to take of the calcium and magnesium problem, but it does not address the other TDS (total dissolved solids) in the water that'll eventually build up in the evaporation media and sump. The RV inline water filter you have now will help with larger stuff that might be in the water supply to help keep it from clogging up the fill valve to the sump and make it taste better. :-P

Thanks...yeh, not bad. The ones banking on KZfaq are those young ladies doing bikini try-ons or wearing no underwear yoga pant stretches...ie, "cameltoe" hanging out. They are making millions. So, I am glad to make some gambling (pocket) money every month on KZfaq with Adsense. I should be at $2,000-$2,500/month for all the years/videos I do. But, if I make $250/month...I am lucky. This month should be about $400.

@@ChrisDIYerOklahoma I recently cancelled my Adsense. The average $1100 a year just wasn't worth the hassle at tax time. But I still enjoy the interaction and learning that goes on between the creators here. But yes, you do have to skip over the junk that's out there too.

Just happened to see this. The white powder and build up is calcium. Spray the unit down with some white Vinegar pretty typical if you have well water especially I get that all the time.I'm always spraying white vinegar with anything here that has water it turns white.😊

Looks beautiful the only major tip I would give the man is so that your bolts don’t end up ruining your expensive wood put steel platings and steel corner pieces and then put the bolts in it. It’ll make it so that the wood won’t crack and potentially fail when you’re not ready for it.

Time Stamp 06:50. I will preface the following with this. I was not there when your house was built. My comment is based on common building practice. Are the brick actually attached to the house? I have seen small steel straps every 2 foot or so nailed to studs. But if a good strong gust came through, and gave that array a solid yank, would those brick stay in place? Or would a section of brick detach and come off? Honestly, I don't think it makes a difference. If a gust that strong were to come through, you would have bigger issues. It just looks like your brackets are only attached to the brick? Asside from that. The array looks beautiful. Very well constructed. I envy your solar system. Thanks for your time.

Isn't that a 400w subwoofer? Are you getting good bass from that amp (hard to tell from video). If so, this is so much easier amd cheaper than trying to include a 300-400w amp, which is essentially what ive been trying to figure out how to do. Im assuming thay, and maybe you said it and i missed it, you bridged the left and right channels of the amp?

Hello MSgt, I saw the plaque on your work bench. My question is about the battery and the power supply. I bought one that was a 29v that said it was for charging the 24v systems and it acted like it was charging but and showed green like it was charged but it would only read 7v with a small load on it the same voltmeter readout you use and I verified with another meter. So do you think that the BMS on the battery kicked out for over-voltage? If a battery has this circuitry can you just use a 24v power supply and let the battery circuit turn off the charging! Love your videos and work. I’m a retired Chief with 35 years of active and guard over here in Fort Smith area.
@ChrisDIYerOklahoma6 күн бұрын
29v battery? From what I read, sounds like a mismatch with the battery and charger. I have been using DeWalt 20v batteries with a 20v AC/DC adapter and 24v Kobalt lithium batteries with a 24v AC/DC adapter with no issues. You want to "be close" with the battery's rated voltage and the AC/DC adapter (not a charger, per se...adapters act more like a power supply). Lithium batteries do better this way and will protect themselves. Some "chargers" won't charge lithiums properly...esp if they are made for flooded batteries...ie - they won't charge if the voltage is too low. Good luck Chief.

SECRET: (if you haven't figured this out already) I remove my Dewalt batteries from my tools the moment I stop using the tool. There is an obvious (to me) "parasitic" drain on these batteries if left plugged into anything. Planned obsolescence maybe? Thanks for this video.
