I have absolutely zero confidence these one and done players will translate to NBA success. You have highlighted players like Jonathan Kuminga, Jalen Green, Cade Cunningham, Scoot Henderson, Jabari Smith, James Wiseman, and Brandon Miller. NONE of these players are remotely ready because they are grossly unprepared and lack experience.

I think LaMelo & Brandon Miller will handle a lot of the scoring duties. I think Ja'Kobe makes sense considering the Defensive value as Melo is pretty poor & Miller maybe a slight+ at his best but I just think the lack of rim-pressure will be an issue in the long run & DJ could really help with that whilst being a guy I can see shooting it & defending at a pretty high level as well.

I don't even know who you're referring to by saying that the Pistons have "an awesome core." They have a few guys who show some potential but nobody looks like an all-star. Gonna be a couple or few more years in the draft lottery before Detroit might see a turnaround of fortunes.

You don’t think Cade looks like a future Allstar? Definitely some worrying things with the difficulty separating but the Two-way ability, playmaking & strength based creation is nice, I’m high on Jaden Ivey think the situation is weird but he’ll get back to it. Duren is one of the best young bigs in the league & Ausar already looks like a All-D contender. + Stew is definitely a solid starter/ elite bench big & Sasser looks great. Feels like Clingan is just a bigger, more athletic, and more mobile Mara, so I wouldn't personally take Mara before him. Mara has shown more passing, but Clingan flashed some excellent passing and vision in moments last season and his coaches speak highly of it. I expect we'll see a lot more operating out of DHOs and the like this season for him. The foot thing is the only concern I have on Clingan, but seems like he'll play tonight in the opener, so we'll see.

It is possible that a player who failed high school or high school will go to the Draft to finish high school in this case to finish the twelfth year. Because as he failed, he lost a year so he would go to college As for example, a player in the 2023 class of the 2024 Draft would not go to college like the other player players in 2023 because he failed would still be finishing his last year in Highschool.

Chet got a ton of rest and recovered greatly especially when rehabbing he did well, He was able to put some weight & muscle into him a bit adding in 15 pounds making him 210 hopefully before the season starts he can put on more mass perhaps add 10 more. If Holmgren gets around 220 that will be suitable for him to last the physicality plus you can see the work ethic he's putting every off-season to get better he made a big emphasis to train hard for his conditioning get then more reps so he could get back to groove in shooting because, Chet sat out the whole year he needs time to get back in that rhythm in being able to stretch the floor or shot free throws at a high percentage again. Once that happens his feel for the game on offense will slowly go back to him what's important is he got even more aggressive defensively, a menace on the paint being that rim protector he is projected to be cuz of his shot blocking prowess.

I don’t get how someone could scout Miller’s game and think he’s a bad pick. Good shooter, 6’9 wing and 2 guard. Good defender, good second option ball handler, not the best finisher but he was getting the ball in the paint at the college level, even blowing by great wing defenders at his height, and he’s also a willing passer, and seems very mature. To me he was the clear second pick! Maybe he settles for 3’s a lot, and isn’t super athletic, but that’s the only knock.
@JBHOOPS100
@JBHOOPS100 Жыл бұрын
He’s a good player & had a great freshman szn. But if you actually watch the tape you’ll see he wasn’t beating defenders consistently at all & had real struggles finishing & creating any sort of seperation in the H/C without a screen/ prior movement. The pick itself wasn’t bad but I’m just super high on Scoot as a legit star creator. & with Millers lack of strength/ burst/ finishing I don’t see him being more than a 3rd or maybe 2nd guy on a serious team.

What do you mean if the picks flip up lol... JHS is better than Lewis. And I don't think it was a reach either, most scouts have JHS a lottery grade, the lowest I saw him is at 19 with the warriors yet the consensus have him lottery to slightly post lottery value. 13-18 range. And Lewis was consistently in the 20's range. I know Lewis is flashy but JHS can contribute more to winning as even he's not scoring, he can provide Playmaking, defense and has a good feel, can't say the sameon Lewis. Overall I think Lakers nailed the draft, Castleton and Hodge also good value for UDFA.

I agree the Lakers Night was solid, the UDFA pickups were elite & Max was a steal. But I just don’t see it with JHS tbh. Shaky decision-making, inconsistent D, very streaky shooter/ shotmaker & doesn’t pressure the rim. Would’ve taken him in the late 1st but 17 was a bit of a reach imo. But if they really wanted him I get it.

Even if I’m not 100% correct atleast I put thought & have reasons to backup my takes. Scoot is special. 6’4/ 6’10 wingspan, elite athlete & playmaker, shot close to 50% on OTD 2’s, 32.4% on 3’s, all against LEGIT PRO’s at 17-19 yo. Miller will be very good but had significant exploitable weaknesses. Struggles to get to & finish at the rim in the H/C (like 37% on h/c layups is terrible), defensively he’s solid, but not great like you said, the passing is really cool & the shooting is great but he also had some wildly bad games against comp which will only get harder & better physically & athletically at the next lvl.

“I would of preferred if JHS and Lewis” is a horrid take. JHS ceiling is Deron Williams his floor is a little worse Malcom Brogdon but better defender. Very few freshman ever average 14 4 4. His pacing & feel for the game is elite. Go watch his 35 point game at #1 seed Purdue. One of the best games by any college player all year nevermind freshman. Him and TJD the only good players on the team and helped them become top10-25 all year! I do agree TJD falling to late 2nd made zero sense. My Pacers not taking him at 47/55 made zero sense. I thought Nuggets should of taken him 37 for that matter before that. JHS gonna have you eating crow. He was top10-20 on most people’s Big Boards for a reason and was mocked 12-16 too. JHS or Whitmore was the obvious pick at 17. GG Jackson at 11 on big board is 🤣.

This is the exact same thing I said lmaooo Lewis is raw actually but has huge potential, but JHS can contribute in a lot of ways and alsp higher ceiling. JHS is cool, I just think 17 was a bit of a reach & taking him over some other guys left on the board was odd. He had great Games but he also had some terrible moments. Defensively was very inconsistent, the decision making is shaky, doesn’t get to the rim in the H/C & isn’t a good enough shooter for his shot-Diet. I do my own scouting so I get I might be against the consensus but I have reasons. I’m not confident he contributes straight away. Lewis also has issues defensively but offensively he’s clear imo. & GG is just a fun upside swing, yes there are issues but he played on one of the worst teams in CBB as a 17 yo with a ridiculous load. Flashes on both ends were super intriguing.

I watched every IU game this year and JHS usually when he missed was in and out or just a tad short. Very few 6’6” 215 lb guards with his pace/skill/smoothness flop especially when they’re 14 4 4 as freshman.
