I love the idea of custom exhausts. I get the appeal of buying off the shelf stuff and then installing it. But man, it feel so good when you make your own. I had 3" stainless pipe that i mated up to a cherry bomb vortex muffler. Their own flow charts for testing stated 510 CFM for typical cherry bomb glasspacks, 578 for their vortex, and 598 for straight pipe. measured 3" inlets/piping @20.3" of water on super flow sf-1200 testing setup. THE FUCKED UP PART? Everyone I met complimented me on my 05 STI on how it sounded. "It sounds so fucking good and its relatively quiet. what exhaust/downpipe setup you running" because they wanted to know. Sadly because its the subaru crowd, everything is about dick measuring contest in terms of money spent. so the moment I said that I fabricated my own 3" stainless pipe to the vortex muffler and its the stock downpipe, their faces went from smiles to indifferent/angry and started to say how "that wont net you any performance" and "you should buy the titanium exhaust for your car like I did for mine and get a proper downpipe".... i hate subaru kids. more money than brains and honestly more money than driving skill. hell their engines blow and they blame weak ringlands when really its usually an overheating issue which causes detonation which causes ringland failure. its got nothing to do with weak ringlands because ANY engine on the market that detonates will cause failure. but it guess its easy to hate on subaru in that regards.... ive had honda's and even they will fail with detonation.... ive had Mitsubishi and they will fail if detonation occurs too. its called taking care of your vehicle. but when you have more money than skill, and someone else builds your car for you, of course they dont know why it failed. driving it like they stole it 2 quarts low on oil, overheating and dying. Me being me, I grew out of loud exhausts. I used to love it. Now I hate it. And knowing I can make the SAME performance metrics with a quiet exhaust, I do that. Turbo 3" with a vortex muffer. Win. A car making way more power? 4" exhaust with muffler will do the same power as 3" straight pipe while being quiet. There is away a way.

Can't you somehow mount a frame around the door similar to the filter and slot something in that makes it more sealed? Maybe some kind of plywood sheet with a rubber gasket or something

Unpopular opinion.... Turbo flutter for the win. Stutututu is better than wooooooooossshhh. No need for a BOV in my opinion. It's not a race car and the boost pressure isn't that high

Mazda 2 with 1.5 103hp (ZY-VE) is good alternative to Honda Fit. Mazda looks sportier and have better handling and suspension from factory. I can see only advantage for Fit, that it can be offered with more powerful VTEC engine.

Awesome to see a video only a few days later on one of our favorite mountain passes of the area. We hope to bump into you some time up there! Open your hatch. Get in your car. Start the car. Turn the A/C on high and shut all the windows and doors. The combination of acoustics from the exhaust and motor mounts is almost painful. It feels like driving with just your back windows open.

My work takes me to Greenville SC. I've been drive the roads to the north and west of there for fun on the weekends when I have to stay over. I haven't made it over as far as 60. Will have to check it out. The whole area has some fun roads, 23 comes to mind. I'm always in boring rental car, but it's still good to get out in the hills.

The next time you’re up in the mountains Blood Mtn in Blairsville is a great road as is Fort Mtn in Ellijay. Tons of fun roads in the N GA mtns.
