I ordered the white plastic replacement retainers which hold on the gold door strap trim pieces. They’re much thicker than the originals and don’t work. They come in white or black. Any advice on replacing them?

4th gen front end (bumper, headlights and hood) with 3rd gen from the A pillars back is the ultimate Town Car. Head rests on modern cars are all super annoying, if you sit with your seatback in a normal upright position (ie not leaned back like a moron), they push your head forward and strain your neck.

@@VitaliyKofman Awesome. I was leaning Camry but a 2020 Fusion Hybrid Energi popped up here with 55K mi on it, hoping to get off work in time to test drive it tomorrow (black SEL). The Energis are under recall but Ford is supposed to replace the battery packs this year or next so that's good. In the meantime will just drive as hybrid which is good. Will be way better getting 40MPG over the 17.5 in my vic lol.

10:49 It is at this moment, memories of the time I accidentally discovered a feature on a car I had for a few years. I walked to the car from the store loaded down with bags, and as I stood behind the trunk, preparing to put the bags down, the car beeped twice, and the trunk opened. Turns out, it was a feature. That being said, I currently have a 99 Town Car, Cartier, everything works, like driving a sofa, and I'm just fine with this.

I had an issue identical to the one in this video "Lincoln Town Car: Crazy Headlight and Turn Signal Issues Solved" on my '07 Town Car, turns out it was a bad connection on the ground pin (thick black wire, middle pin) from the headlight module to the plug. Shined up the tab and the slot with a toothpick, bent the slot in so it was tight again, worked immediately. Not quite the issue you have, but I'd check the wires and the connections, wiring diagram in the video might help narrow down the issue.

The Grand Marquis gives the driver a level of deference on the road that the Lincoln can't match. A Lincoln is an old man, a Grand Marquis could be a detective, police commissioner, FBI, CIA, or anything in between.

Those two chambers on the air intake duct are basically mufflers. Cold air intake systems make the air intake louder and you can hear the engine sucking in air. Those chambers on the factory one do the opposite of that. They are intended to make the air intake and therefore the engine in general quieter. Hope this helps 2 years later lol

I briefly owned two q45’s when I used to flip cars. The v8 had mad power, way more than my ls400. It just pulled and pulled after 100mph. Hit 150 on a cool summer night and felt like I could go on forever. Only minus point is 300zx front brakes should’ve came on the Q. A bit smokey during an abrupt stops in traffic.

I think 91 to 93 was the pinnacle of Town Cars interior, felt way more luxurious. Things went down hill with every next generation, the last one was meant to be a taxi. Between these two I prefer the exterior of 03-11 as it’s more boxy in the front. I feel like the wheels on the 98 seem to small, the pointy front also don’t go well with the rest of the car.

LS400 is not the ultimate Cadillac. It was built with Mercedes in mind and it shows. It was overbuilt and Toyota spent a ton of money on development to compete. Cadillac looked like dinosaurs at that time with an ancient platform.

My Dad owned a 2001 Sable LS Premium looked exactly like this car but ours was in excellent condition and only difference I can spot is ours had the older crescent third brake light in the back windows same as the Tauruses from 96. Ours had the floor shifter and the High Output 24V engine, with Chrome SHO styled wheels Was a fast, sleek car, upgraded it to a 2010 Fusion Sport also in. Silver and that car is mine now still perfect also a rare to see breed of car being a first gen Fusion Sport.

Ford got cheap, plastic intake . It's a lot of little details I want you to think The average age of this purchaser was 61 years old and today's dollars it's about 78 Grand for the third generation and 4th generation Lincoln Town Car. They lost a contract with Cartier. That's Mickey mouse. That means four didn't want to pay. And did they pass the saving time to the consumer? No, they didn't. Henry Ford be rolling in his grave. Other than that though, I just bought this car a couple years ago. It's been nothing but a dream

I'm glad you made this video. I will have to install new wiper blades on my step son's 2015 Fusion. Just by looking at them, I would have no idea how to change them. Also, on the paint chip. You would think if it was from a rock it would have chipped the glass as well. Only the paint chipped. If your Fusion is anything like the 2015. There is a huge plastic cover that covers the entire bottom of the engine and transmission you have to remove with like 11 screws before you can change the oil or transmission fluid.

It seems like your door hinge pins are worn on the drivers door. If you open the door 1/3 of the way pull up on the back bottom edge of the door. If there is play up/down then the hinge pins are worn. If it's very solid the door can be adjusted by the bolts on the hinges to correct that issue. I would recommend a body shop give you an estimate.

It is a good car and just got a 2020 SE with 36k original miles. Mine is the rare SE with tech package and has Blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, sunroof, and is keyless (push-button start). So almost an XSE, missing little features. 3 owners however, no accidents. The condition was extremely good and car came with "weathertech style" floor mats and rain guard.. could tell someone took care of it. However, one big issue with the car I wish I knew before I bought it is the very uncomfortable seats. I am very skinny, 162 pounds and 6' 6" tall. My mom is 5' 8" and is 170 pounds. We both find this the most uncomfortable car we have ever owned. Not sure if this is due to the SE trim, it is being sporty seats, but no matter how we adjust the seats we just cannot get comfortable. I wish I knew this before we bought it, unfortunately a 10 minute test drive is not enough. Buyer beware. If considering this car, most of you would probably be better off with a Lexus. Which I would like to trade this car in, or for an electric car, at some point. May deal with it, if I put a gel memory foam cushion. It's not me being negative, I'm overall happy with the car. However, the truth has to be said. Buyer beware!!

Hey Vitaliy, from what I've read, the Heritage Edition is in reference to the 1957 300C... I fell in love with the 300 when it was first introduced. I owned a Silver 07' 300 Touring, it was a nice car, however, I traded it in for a Titanium 09' 300 Limited which I really liked, unfortunately, I ended up trading that in for a RAM to pull my boat. I'm missing that 09' 300 so much, I'm parking the RAM and just using it to pull the boat and I'm purchasing a Titanium 09' 300C Heritage Edition on Tuesday. There is just something about the 09' that attracts me the most.

Toyota did kill the Avalon which was a larger sedan with V6 and a step above the Camry, but below the Lexus ES. In fact, the ES was based on the Avalon since 2013 model year, I believe. So, if you are looking for a more luxurious and reliable sedan, I would suggest an ES or an Avalon. PS The V6 fuel economy is not great, obviously, but they did come as hybrids as well.
