100% disagree with the F2 statements. At least the 2019 intro had racing footage. Maybe it had some weird colour effects, but it had a decent amount of high impact racing footage, while the 2020 F2 intro has ZERO, and you want to rate it higher? Man at least be consistent. "I wish it had more rather than just acting like a feeder for F1", shows and intro with so much more, including crashes, and other good shots, but its terrible because of some maybe OTT effects? psh And on consistency, F1 do the same Driver against a green screen for most of the F1 intro, but IDK if its bias, but "woah that's great". Arguably, if you're judging it based on the popularity vs production value, F1 is massively under the competition, barely any racing shots. Your complaint of drivers against a green screen, folding their aarms.... come on. And the F1 song while great, according to your criticism isn't one of the lowest tempo songs out of all of them.

Thanks for the great video Matt! This answers a question that I've had ever since I went to Silverstone and did the track invasion (after the race, completely legally). I noticed the holes on the grid boxes and the lines on the track and wondered what they were for. Now I know!

Hi Matt, first time I have watched this video - very informative. I was wondering if the F1 teams have the ability to talk to the driver in a private conversation mode. In other words that conversation is Digitally Voice Protected (DVP) and anyone scanning that channel whilst in private mode would only receive 'White Noise'. Would be quite an advantage when talking strategy, tyres Pit Stop timings - would prevent other teams knowing what they are going to do next.
@mattamys3 күн бұрын
Only time the team can speak privately is when they come into the garage and are connected directly - anything out on track needs to be publicly available so no private conversation mode on track :)

4:55 FYI you want to use filler primer to do this, and not just regular paint primer. Filler primer will fill gaps with the putty, and not paint.

I have an unused competition Pirelli medium tyre on a 13inch Enkei front rim from a Mclaren Mp4-26 that I made into a table. I made a base for it and put some 6 inch legs on it, LED lights in the middle of the rim and a glass top. It looks great

Before they cut tire beads, race car tires could be found. I got mine for free for years from the Parnelli Jones Firestone store in Torrance. Then things got tough with Firestone orders to cut beads. But I made friends with mechanics there and could usually find tires for my old street driven corvette.

Such a waste of tyres that aren't put to use. You would think how much they want to get to "Net Zero" that they would fix this.

In the late 1960s in Los Angeles we would go to the back door of Shelby enterprises,,$40 a tire for used road racing slicks, we told them we were using them at Lions drag strip four our street drag cars,,well that's at least what we told them...

That raw materiel is VERY proprietary to say the least! It would be extremely careless of Pirelli to just hand their competitors their cutting edge technology as a souvenir. 😉

So the FIA has the same replacement policy as Discount Tire: “Oh, you have a thumbtack in a single tire? It’s dangerous to replace just one and can’t patch it, so you need to buy 4 new tires.” *This is a joke, obviously race cars need matched tires. Please don’t @ me about how I don’t know anything about tires. Just a comment about how commercial tire shops try to boost their own sales.

It’s been this way for several years. There was a time when, Goodyear and Bridgestone also raced F1. But it got very expensive with the tire companies competing against each other and Goodyear was the first one to leave the sport.

When F1 can go just one week without some sort of headline making controversy I will tune in again. There's nothing more aggravating than the constant fake outrage and crying and whining on Mondays. Same for Nascar and Indycar. Anything for a headline like lying cheating stealing whining scumbag republicans do on a daily basis. We live in a world where any headline is a big seller lie or not. It isn't just entertainment anymore.
