Another good one is that you can't "catch a cold"(get sick)from being out in cold weather. It's a bacterial or viral infection that gets you sick not the cold temperature

I can't stand when people say that you'll catch a cold on unusually warm days during the winter. Or that you'll catch a cold if u don't still wear a coat or jacket on warm days during the winter.
@amiegyn84505 жыл бұрын
Everyone's correct. Wintery conditions do not cause illness or sickness, but what causes the outbreak more of illness during that time has to do with being cold. When you're cold, your immune system is lowered and therefore when you touch doorhandles, money, other nasty hands and things then touch your face, you are more likely to not fight off infection and thus catch a cold.
@ingenious54805 жыл бұрын
I know!! Even the weather man says it!!! But maybe our immune systems aren’t as strong if we’re cold? I dunno maybe something like that might make it slightly true

The epidermis, or outer layer of the skin, is made up of cells called keratinocytes, which form a very strong intracellular skeleton made up of a protein called keratin. These cells divide rapidly at the bottom of epidermis, pushing the higher cells upward. After migrating about halfway from the bottom of this layer to the top, the cells undergo a programmed death. The nucleus involutes, leaving alternating layers of the cell membrane, made of lipids, and the inside, made largely of water-loving keratin. The outer layer of the epidermis, called the stratum corneum, is thus composed of these alternating bands. When hands are soaked in water, the keratin absorbs it and swells. The inside of the fingers, however, does not swell. As a result, there is relatively too much stratum corneum and it wrinkles, just like a gathered skirt. This bunching up occurs on fingers and toes because the epidermis is much thicker on the hands and feet than elsewhere on the body. (The hair and nails, which contain different types of keratin, also absorb some water. This is why the nails get softer after bathing or doing the dishes.)

Does anyone else find it interesting that the tree that Adam and Eve took fruit from is referred to as the “tree of knowledge” and the number one threat to any religious ideology is uncensored knowledge?
@ikeillue83855 жыл бұрын
more like the number one threat to religious ideology is stubborn ignorance. Instead of keeping an open mind, and realizing that you cannot prove any religion (including atheistic evolution, and yes, evolution is a religion) scientifically, they decide that since evolution tries to explain a godless origin to the universe, it somehow makes it more scientific than other theories.
@nonutnovember18735 жыл бұрын

Tell that to every Latin American mother! “You go out in the cold, you’ll get a cold. That’s why it’s called a cold.” No, but sure, mom. Sure.
@abigailmarshall53023 жыл бұрын
Well the thing is that the energy and resources your body spends combatting the cold makes you more susceptible to not being able to fight off the infection because less resources are being diverted to the immune system, since more resources are combatting the cold. So it's not technically true that you get an infection from the cold but it makes you more susceptible to not being able to fight it off as effectively, especially if you're not dressed warm enough and your coldness is exacerbated by having wet hair or wearing wet anything in cold weather

How ironic: It's a Tree of Knowledge, and yet we don't know what the fruit was. Edit: Wow, this exploded. Time to address a couple of things. 1) Practicing Christian here. My comment was not designed as criticism* against the book itself. I merely observed the words on their own terms and the inherent irony. 2) I am well aware the knowledge is "of sin." This is what leads to Adam & Eve covering their exposed bodies. Again, I am using the words by their narrowest definition, not necessarily accounting for the entire context. 3) It is generally my belief that altering the facts to suit your jokes is lazy humor. That said, I'm willing to make an exception here because I believe it works. If you don't think the joke lands, then that comes down to different tastes. More power to you if that's your take. * Literary criticism (edit 6/16/20)

Just want to point out #7 is only half right. It is a common misconception (as well as pushed by the Egyptian government) that the pyramids are tombs of the Pharaohs. This is actually never proven to be true. During the 200 and some years we have been studying the Pyramids with modern day archeology we have never actually found a tomb located within any of them. So what were they used for? We have no true idea actually...

Great video! When you were talking about the bats however, they use sonar, not radar as radar uses radio waves and sonar uses sound waves. It's an easy mistake to make but this video was really interesting too!

The sense of temp is just the sense of touch, the sense of time passing is just using our sense of sight and common sense. The five senses are meant to list the 5 basic ways that we interact with the world. The sense of balance doesn't help us stay away from danger

It's from world war 2. You never knew who was listening to your conversation (spy) who could pass on important information to the enemy. Who could use the information against your armed forces.. Such as two sailors taking in a bar about the date there ship is sailing and where too. Once the information is passed on to the enemy they would inform any of there u boats in the area there would be a ship sailing on a certain date on a certain route. And they would intercept it and sink it. All because of men talking in a bar.

my roommates actually wake me up when I was sleepwalking around the room. I felt weird why I was standing instead of calmly laying down in my bed. Then I heard my freaked out roommates calling my name, I told them to calm down and apologised, crawled back into my bed, mumbled some apologies and fell back to sleep :D

I love you dude. Your personality is awesome. You're so eccentric and expressive. I love your mannerisms and humor. You make me laugh so much. I enjoy watching your videos. I watch them pretty much every day. Oh and also, it's believed now that there is 20 senses or more that we have. There is this show I watch that conducts psychological studies and explains a lot of things. Including the five senses is false deal. But it's really cool to think how many senses we actually have isn't it?

If Adam and Eve were the first humans, does that mean we're all inbred???
@achilleaustin5 жыл бұрын
yeah I reckon the first humans were like super humans but now we all kinda mutated and gay
@MasterAdam1004 жыл бұрын
Don't forget the bible says we came from one inbred family....twice. The other time was when Yaweh murdered everyone in a flood and only Abraham and his family survived.
@griffin_59794 жыл бұрын
Yes
@h.borter53674 жыл бұрын
Not exactly. We are so far removed from our first human parents that we are not inbred. They were perfect humans in the beginning and when Adam and Eve sinned, they lost their ability to live forever. Then they passed on the trait of sin and imperfection to the proceeding generations.

If that's true, there'd be millions more fossils and bones of hundreds or thousands of unknown species aka missing links that are still missing but the truth is, we definitely would have found them by now. If you really want to know about science, the truth is out there.
