I think the thing that REALLY sold that as feeling planned all along was the Smackdown referees siding with Cena and the Raw referees siding with Batista Such a small detail, but it made it feel planned. It also sorta protected them both, so they felt like equals

There's also Chris Jericho legit knocking out Shawn Michaels' wife in 2008. During that segment, Chris was supposed to deliver a fake punch, but it would hit enough to be believable. What followed was Rebecca (Shawn's wife) forgot to sell the punch because Chris's punch went too fast and the result, he hit her square on the jaw. As soon as the storyline was over, Chris Jericho said in a podcast, that he would actually visit Rebecca and apologize for the botched stunt. I don't remember if HBK forgave him, since he also apologized to him, but I remember Chris just saying Michaels was not in the mood to talk.

Vince McMahon telling Jeff Jarrett (A WILD SLAPNUTS APPEARS!!!) he was GOONNEE [sic] from the promotion on television. People didn't really know the background story and even Jeff Jarrett thought it was all a work when it happened... which isn't really surprising. It's not a shock that Jeff Jarrett would honestly believe that he's genuinely such a beloved talent that Vince McMahon would give him a pass for extorting him for six figures. But then again, McMahon ultimately did... so, there's that.

What happened to Wendy Richter was more of a double cross than a screw job, although the term screw job could also apply. Moolah's reputation speaks for itself, and no way would she allow another woman to hold the WWF Women's Championship for long. Then there was the fact that Wendy wouldn't play ball on a new contract, which I would imagine didn't go over well with Vince McMahon.

Especially since they were striving for the top position in such an extremely competitive environment, where everyone is willing to do anything to bring you down and take your spot. It only makes sense that they didn't like each other and had some deep-seated animosity against each other. There can only be one "top" guy, and everyone else is your competition not your friend. Nearly every single ex-wrestler or ex-wwe wrestler, says the worst part of being in the WWE is all the politicking and worrying that everyone is out to get you. It's not exactly an environment that fosters good relationships with your fellow worker, to say the least! I'm honestly surprised that anyone would think otherwise.

The more I hear the Randy Kofi story, the more I believe Kofi did the right thing for his career. Punting me in the head is really iffy kayfabe or not.

Jw, with so many "Close call spots" of people going over the ropes and basically hanging on by their pinky finger these days and coming back in to win the Rumble, has any "planned winner" ever lost before on accident??? I would imagine the writers having the 2nd pick for mania being part of the final 2 "just Incase"... Lol Especially these days with guys hanging onto the ring with their pinky finger basically...
