I'm sure you will pick up some French, it will happen in a natural way 😉. Your children will help you with this, you will be surprised, I'm sure, just keep an open mind and let it happen... Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your experiences. I can't imagine how much courage it takes to move to another country, but again, thanks to your children, you will get perfectly integrated there! Bienvenue en France 😊🥐🥖🍷

10:13 Apparently, given the crown over the shield, the place belonged to a marquis or a duc (I can't see it clearly). With the coat of arms, you can discover the name of the family which owned it 🙂

Yes, we already dug into it; seems quite interesting. Will update here once I gather more information!

I’m surprised that your not willing to learn French, having a Spanish accent I would have thought it would be easy to learn. My wife knew French and found Spanish very easy to learn.🇨🇦

I am not a Spanish speaker. French seems to me very difficult.

I work in tourism and often if a foreigner speaks a little French he is proud of it whereas the French when they speak English if it is not perfect he will not want to speak or will say that he does not speak English because he has a little shame if it's not perfect. we are brought up like that unfortunately. it's not to bother you. ha and welcome to France

Thank you for letting me know this. It’s good to hear something like that from someone experienced. I appreciate your comment. Thanks for watching!

You seem to have given up the idea of learning French 🙂 Don't worry about the so called difficulty of the language. Don't despair. Don't put too much pressure on you. Actually, you'd better remember that a lot of vocabulary in English comes from French. Spot those words, and rely on them so as to make short sentences. Also, the basic grammar is not so far from English. The most tiring thing will be the conjugaison, like in Italian and Spanish and all Roman languages : but that is the next step 🙂 What languages do you already speak ?

So why aren't you learning French? It seems that you are making your life much more difficult than is necessary.

I think it’s an incredibly difficult language. I am pretty sure after a while I will retain some words, but not planning to take any classes, etc.

@CountryLivingInAFrenchChateau the French will snub and disrespect you if you do not make an effort to learn. Many of them speak English because like many European countries it is taught in school. However, the French still hate Americans almost as much as they hate Germans. Actually French is not that difficult to speak. Writing it is another matter because they add so many wasted letters to words. 😅😂

@@wernerdanler2742 Where have you seen that the French hate the Americans or the Germans. The Americans are our allies and have already helped us and we know it and if the older generations did not like the Germans, with Europe we all have German friends. these hatreds between civilized nations are over. Afterwards, we can not like, for example, the lack of an American social system, but it is not to hate Americans

When you go to France you’re expected to speak French yes I am from France and when I came to live in USA I learned English that’s common sense

I learned English as well when I came to the USA. French is very difficult IMO, especially without any previous exposure to it.

That is the craziest comment I have ever heard, I will never learn French. Did you mean to say that you won’t be able to learn French ? If #1 is true, why did you move there?
@countrylivinginfrenchchate2676
@countrylivinginfrenchchate2676 Жыл бұрын
I am afraid I will not be able to learn French, yes. I do lots of google translating these days and I am retaining some words but it’s a very complicated language to my ear. Kids speak French though and that’s all that matter to me.

This is the first time I see your KZfaq page and it is the first time I write something like this to a KZfaqr … your conflicting thoughts about your experience in France as a beautiful French chateau owner are very strange and make me uncomfortable … this episode doesn’t make me want to follow you …

Thoughts are… exactly thoughts… I didn’t say anything negative, just MY thoughts from MY point of view and MY experience. And even if I have said something negative, shouldn’t people be allowed to express how they see things? We all are different. Thanks for watching anyway.
Few things about living in France that nobody told me about before we moved there
