5/19: Battery upgraded to our 100mi range Tesla battery pack, new square weave carpet, headliner and all-electric cabin heating system.
This car has been featured in the following print magazines in 2018/19: Hagerty, American Airlines Magazine, Auto Motor Sport & VW Magazine (Germany), Elbilen! Magazine (Sweden) Daytona Magazine & Cal Classix (Japan).
1/19: This car was invited for display at the 2018 San Diego International Auto Show and 2018 Pebble Beach Concours RetroAuto.
8/17: We recently increased the HP of the AC electric motor to 102hp, nearly 3X the original. Diamondback white wall tires have also been added. 2017 Pacific Grove "The Little Car Show" award winner for "Most Interesting Electric Vehicle."
Like our other Beetles its AC electric motor doubles the HP of the original and cruises happily at 70mph and will do more than 100 if you want to. We keep our cars looking stock and do not cut or weld anything. This keeps the car's resale value high and it can even be converted back to gas. The car can recharge on any 110v household plug and public charging stations around town. You'll get about 100 miles on a charge.

So beautiful. This is my exact dream car. When I was a kid working for a body shop, I always tried to convince the owner to sell me his 1958 ragtop that was in need of a restoration bad. He never parted with it, it just sat and rotted.

Very beautiful VW bug, hope it goes to someone who appreciate it. Great color, gun metal gray, flat non-metallic should last a long time. Hope it has a car alarm included, people like to shop for parts for free! Lol Beautiful detail inside, nice tan interior, stays cooler than black. Such a nice blessing for a lucky winner.

Man this is just the best looking electric car on the market right now... tesla is ok but it does not look as hot as this ! i hope that this is our future: old good looking cars with new tecnologie not cars that look like spaceships!

What's the blue tape for in the restoration doing ? protecting the paint or pointing out areas that need attention ? I use the blue tape on my house projects....

One month seems like a more than reasonable shakedown time. Gives you and your employees enough time to ascertain if anything needs to be reassembled or readjusted.

Okay you said you don't do any cutting but I've seen customs where they take the back half of a VW bus and weld it to the front half of a VW beetle and grind down the welds and paint it whatever color it's called a Mukidi. I can see you doing an electric version.

Can you tell us the cost of one of those or are you purposefully leaving out that information? It'd really interest me even if I'm surely not able to buy one of these, but I'd like to be able to compare to a new electric car, without the price tag I would probably choose this, the style is unmatched, but the price is an important part of cars ':D

le Jake It's up to the client according to them. And I guess the client didn't want the conversion cost made public IDKY it would be in the people who do these conversions to tell the public

My 73 Super Beetle is locked up because the previous owner took the spark plugs out years ago. I am using Marvel Mystery Oil for a few days then I'll see of I can break it free.

@@Zelectric When I checked EV West’s website, all I found was a heating element. So, do I have to construct a heater from scratch: make a box, attach a blower, construct ducting? I’ll have to call EV West and ask them.

I'm thinking 30 >50,000 USD . That could buy you a barn full of rust free classic VW's and you wouldn't have to spent 50 years driving one everyday to break even. Go buy an solar powered electric hammer if you want to save the planet.
